Season of Ghosts

Woo! Congratulations again and good job on the finishing the scenario everyone! Running this has been a blast and I hope that you've all had as much fun playing through it as I did running it. There's still a few final things to take care of but they shouldn't take too long:

(1) Chronicles - I will try and have everyone's chronicles ready within the next day or so. Probably won't have time to get them tonight but I should be able to finish them either tomorrow evening after work or Friday while I'm off.

(2) Feedback - This is entirely optional and I understand that it can be a challenge to give feedback, but if anyone has any thoughts or comments to offer on their experience and my GMing then I'd love to hear them - good and bad. Things that you liked, things that you didn't like, areas that I could stand to work on, etc. Feel free to post them here or if you'd rather talk privately then by all means call 1-800-Nat20s send me a PM :)

(3) Easter Eggs - For the one or two people here that may have played in a game run by GM Hmm you'll recognize this. For those that haven't, she has a neat little tradition of asking for 'easter egg' posts from her players at the end of a game. To elaborate a bit on what's meant by 'easter egg' in this context, I'm going to quote player KingofAnything:

KingofAnything wrote:

<Philosophical Exploration of the Easter Egg>

The closing credits are a great place to sum up your adventure and how your character has grown throughout. You've been playing for awhile now, so take some time to look back through the adventure and think about what moments stood out as meaningful, or could be explored a little more.

Your Easter Egg can be presented as a vignette centering around your character, or as a report or letter to your superiors/family, or as a quick scene between NPCs reacting in your character's absence. There are many possibilities!

Some good questions to ask yourself and/or answer in an Easter Egg:
1. How did my character introduce themselves? Are they the same character now?
2. What relationships did my character form in this adventure? How will they end? (Or will they continue??)
3. What did my character learn about themselves or the world?
4. What does my character do between adventures?
5. Where is the pie?

Easter Eggs are always optional but definitely encouraged as a way to have a little fun or introspection before closing the door on a particular game :)

(4) Boon Rolls - During Gameday, both GMs and players have a chance to roll to win cool prizes! Please roll 1d20 here in Discussion; a 19 or 20 will win you a random boon that can be applied to any Pathfinder Society character that you have. If you win a boon, please roll 1d4 to determine which one you'll receive! Since GMs get to participate in this as well, I'll do my own roll to demonstrate!

Boon!?: 1d20 ⇒ 14

Oh well, maybe next time :)

Boon: 1d20 ⇒ 17 Oh, so close!

Honestly, I had more fun that I've ever had in a scenario. I thought you did a great job and hope that you'll forgive me if I make you blush and say that you're the best PFS GM I've ever had.

I can't really think of anything bad or that I didn't like, but then again, I'm fairly easy to please.

As for easter eggs, do you want them here or in Gameplay?

Once again, a great a funny adventure, by the cutest Gm I know. Good pace, good selection of players, interesting challenges

I'm sorry if I couldn't participate more, but I'm quite overworked these last weeks. One of my co workers is hospitalised, so that's more work for me. Yeah.

It's fun to explore Eredur's personality, and to see him interact with other people. He's still gruff and keeping quiet most of the time, but he's slowly opening to others too. And I like the image of a dwarf mage throwing his flying, returning mace in the face of foes, Apprentice hand is quite fun.^^

I'll have a little bit of fun writing an Easter Egg later on this evening... thanks very much for the opportunity of exploring the world of PFS. I had great fun and it was interesting to see how Scenarios differ from the world of Modules and AP's...

In terms of feedback, what is there to say? As a GM you kept the adventure moving at a fantastic pace, the world we explored was full of characterisation and colour (and I suspect quite a lot of this was beyond the 'read-aloud' text from within the scenario) and I think everyone felt properly involved... all in all, a top class performance.

In terms of PFS itself, I think it is something that I will dip in and out of... it definitely scratches an itch in terms of a self-contained adventure that, within the realms of PbP, you can reasonably expect to run for a few months... that is definitely a bonus when you think of the time investment needed for larger adventures... so maybe it'll be something where I look for PbP Gamedays and favourite GMs rather than have Guillaume racing through scenarios...

And, thanks to everyone else who played... fun times and I'm sure I'll see you around on the boards (a given for quite a few here!!!)

...and looking for that boon: 1d20 ⇒ 6, yeah, maybe not!!!!

GM, I had a blast. Thank you for providing this amazing experience. I will jump at the chance to play at your table any time in the future.

As for feedback: the only thing you could stop doing is to worry about your posting rate ;-)

Your descriptions are great, you keep the game flowing naturally and interact in a fantastic way with all the players. I could not ask for more!

Thanks for the kind words, everyone! I think everyone in this group has GMed for me at some point (and to great effect) except for Eamon and Shelya's players, so such praise coming from you folks means a great deal. I'm really glad that everyone enjoyed the game! :)

@Dalen - Yeah, putting your Easter Egg in Gameplay is fine :)

@Eredur - No worries regarding your participation; this time of year makes for busy work days for me as well. I'm sorry to hear about your coworker and I hope they recover soon!

@Guillaume - The 'one shot' nature of PFS scenarios and the like are definitely a nice change of pace if you're used to playing longer-running things like APs or even modules. It's even possible to have a little bit of both; for example running a series of individual scenarios but for a set group of PCs. Last Gameday I participated in something exactly like that, where a GM ran a group of us through 6 different scenarios that all took place in the same general region (Irrisen). There are also some scenarios that are two or three-parters and some modules are also sanctioned for PFS play. So there's definitely a variety of things to experience :)

@Karayan - Your feedback is noted ;) Seriously though, I know it's fine but we each tend to be our own worst critic from time to time so yeah :)
______

As I said, I had a blast playing with everyone and each one of you are always welcome in a game that I run! As for the when and the what as far as future games go, there are a lot of different ideas bouncing around in my head that I'd like to try at some point - some other fun scenarios that I've played myself, silly stuff like We Be Goblins, or maybe some sort of a 'themed' game like GM Hmm's all-tengu group she ran some games for - stuff like that. If anyone wants me to keep them in the loop for the next time I look at starting up a game, I'd be happy to do so! Alternatively (for the more-experienced-with-PFS folks) if there's a scenario you've been dying to play but never see it offered in the Flaxseed Lodge then hit me up sometime and maybe I'll be able to run it for you :)
______

Other random business: I've left him as an active player for now but I don't think Eamon's player is checking this game anymore so I'll go ahead and roll for him for a possible player boon as he participated in the majority of the scenario :)

Eamon Boon!?: 1d20 ⇒ 19
Hot Dang!!: 1d4 ⇒ 3

I'll give Shelya a bit more time to make her own roll (since I think it's more fun to make the roll yourself) while I work on chronicle sheets :)

Season of Ghosts

Okay folks! Here are the chronicles for Karayan, Guillaume, and Dalen. Please let me know if there are any mistakes and I'll correct them ASAP!

Eredur and Shelya: I just need Day Job checks from you if you have a Day Job and I will have yours ready for you as well :)

No worries! I'm busy with work this weekend so I'll leave the campaign active for a few more days :)

Season of Ghosts

Nice Easter Eggs, guys! Funny thing, I played this on my crazy oracle during Gameday V last year and when I saw the top boon on the chronicle sheet I knew that I *had* take advantage of it even though oracles don't normally get familiars on their own. So I reworked my 1st level feat to take Skill Focus (Kn. Planes) and then picked up Eldritch Heritage (Arcane) at 3rd level. She'll still have to wait a bit before she can take Improved Familiar but it'll be worth it :)

In the meantime since you still get *a* familiar if you go the Eldritch Heritage route, Corona has a chicken following her around and sitting on the egg when they're breaking between missions :3

Okay folks, I think I've got everything reported! Shelya, your chronicle is also available at this link here. If you need me to adjust your gold for a Day Job roll, please let me know and I'll update it :)

I'll leave this campaign open until tomorrow and then will close it. If Shelya doesn't check in before then I will send her player a PM with a link to her chronicle :)
