GM you are managing this complex role-play heavy scenario Masterfully! It's not easy to deal with 6 different characters spread out over 4 locations and keep up with all their interactions ..while keeping the story line in tact! Kudos to you GM Ladile!
By way of thanks I would like to invite (if you use Herolab only unfortunately), you to a spot in my "Ire of the Storm" I plan on starting in about a month and a half (end of Oct. begin of Nov.) it will be a fully PFS legal game for PFS characters with 0-4 chronicle sheets (2-4 being optimum because how the adventure levels). It's kinda a GM "thank you adventure" and you certainly have already earned an invite. Let me know if you are interested; I only have one slot filled so far you'd be the second (but I have two more slots in mind for some really good players in my regular game I GM..however, I may just reserve this game for active and creative GM's such as yourself)

Adding my voice to this. You are doing a great job GM!

Aw shucks guys, thank you! I've finally, finally quit worrying about the pacing but it's good to know that everyone is continuing to be entertained. And really, it's you guys who deserve the kudos for not hesitating to jump in and interact with your surroundings and do as you feel your character would do and not just what you think the scenario/I would want you to do - like this little section where some of you have split up or earlier when Eamon decided to forgo the Choosing since he's not really a big believer in such things. Once we wrap up I'll open the floor/my PM inbox to comments and suggestions on what everyone liked about the game and what I could stand to improve on, too. I'll also answer questions about anything in the scenario that might've seemed unclear and the like, if anyone happens to be curious about stuff like that!
Compared to a lot of Gameday games this one may run a bit long but you know what? You guys are having fun and I'm having fun and so we'll just keep trucking like we are and it'll all be good :)
@Eamon - Interesting offer and one that I definitely appreciate! If you don't mind, give me a little time to mull it over and I'll get back to you more in-depth via PM should I choose to accept it. I say this because I've been trying to rejigger my load of games in order to allow for space to both play more Society games and to also GM them since apparently GMing is fun and who knew? I've bowed out of at least one long-term campaign that wasn't really speaking to me anymore and I've turned down a couple of long-term game invites (APs/homebrew stuff) but a module might be doable. We'll see :)

Sorry for the no posting. Got a big headache yesterday, and I don't know what to add.. Eredur isn't big in social situations.
You're doing a fine work as a GM, Lady L

No worries Eredur, thanks for checking in!
I'm not going to drag out this scene too much; as long as at least two or three people seem to reach a consensus on what to do with Craik then we'll roll with it and continue on. If I don't get back to that tonight then I'll do it tomorrow afternoon/evening after I get home from work :)
Also lol @ Karayan - that was a good point about the kitchen but I/Cadmion had already committed so I guess all important meetings in the Frisky Unicorn happen in the kitchen and make Lomen very sad :3
Eamon Valda |
Guys since Eamon doesn't have a Harrow card perhaps you could show this Craik dude your cards ? Perhaps he portends to the cards? How could he possibly help our investigation of terrible disaster..? Eamon is a non believer but, I'll set the stage and you guys lead it down whatever path you wish..
GM Ladile |
By the way, since it's not always easy to tell the difference between IC-frustration and OOC frustration on the part of the player, I will say that you'll be getting a lead on where to go/what to do next very soon - promise! :)

GM I'm confused is Flovi a pseudodragon? the child of Novi and ??? Karayan have you shared the info knowledge local with us? If Karayn (shared his info) how is the info useful, if Flovi is a pseudodragon not a hippogriff? Do we just report to the garrison where the missing egg ended up at a few years ago? This is pretty complex scenario, with a lot of threads, going in seemly random directions. It will be interesting to see, if the authors of this scenario, pull it together in a cohesive manner that, makes a semblance of sense. Cause right now the only disaster to the city I could possibly see is, a war between pseudodragons and hippogriffs over egg napping! LOL
Sorry, I know there's a lot going on and there are a lot of little details within this scenario! Novi and his two female mates (Tovi and Jovi) are the three adult pseudodragons of the little nest and Flovi is one of their offspring, a juvenile of her species the same way that Gentlefluff is a juvenile of his (hippogriff). Basically the three adults are feeling guilty themselves about stealing Gentlefluff's egg and feel that sending Flovi with you guys might help even out the cosmic balance a bit.
The knowledge check is largely for the curious who might wonder - where in the world would these pseudodragons manage to find a hippogriff egg in this city? Because if there's a question to be asked, someone will ask it :)
If it's any consolation, I also found this scenario rather confusing when I played it - I think part of that was due to the fact that there really are a lot of seemingly random threads and another was due to the GM (a good GM) being rather busy and a bit sporadic with his posts so I think certain things didn't translate well. Having read it myself, things make a lot more sense in retrospect and so I'm trying to drop hints and things here and there to hopefully tie everything together a bit better, because I really enjoyed the scenario in spite of my confusion - it's got plenty of opportunities for roleplaying, some investigation aspects, and yes, a bit of combat for people itching to kill something. Something that I think is really important for a GM to remember in PFS is that by and large, your game is the one, single opportunity that your players have to experience a scenario - it's up to you to help make it count and to show your table a good time.

Karayan you are within the radius of my channel and as discussed before, thought this would make for a decent roll-playing opportunity. Eamon will roll-play off your reaction. I choose here to do this cause, the stakes seem not too dangerous and well it's a theater..lets act!
CRB on channel: "A good cleric (or one who worships a good deity) channels positive energy and can choose to deal damage to undead creatures or to heal living creatures."
But... the opportunity is too good to ignore, so let's act!
Eamon Valda |
Alas I would be healing not damaging undead in this case..so we might need to find a better situation
Eamon Valda |
Rolling with it

Next post will be in another 4-5 hours, once I'm home from work. Though I have access to my files via Google Drive it would be easier for me to do this one on my laptop :)
Karayan |
Some illness got a hold of me, I expect to be back in a few days
GM Ladile |
I went ahead and botted Karayan since he said it might take him a few days to be recovered. However, I'm rather unfamiliar with the Mesmerist and I'm reluctant to use consumable resources (spells, items, X/Day abilities) when botting a player unless instructed to or unless the situation is dire so he might not be doing a lot...
Also, working day shift tomorrow so next combat update will likely happen tomorrow evening once I get home :)
GM Ladile |
Home now from my shopping trip, so I'll be updating Gameplay shortly!
In other news, Venture-Lieutenant Hmm has a contest thread going for her extra Legacy Race Boon for Starfinder Society! If Starfinder is your jam and you've been sad about not having elves/dwarves/gnomes/halflings/etc. available from the get-go then I suggest checking it out :)
Eamon Valda |
The PC interactions have been top notch in this scenario and GM love ur NPC's! Everyone keep up the good work!
GM Ladile |
I'm definitely enjoying the little moments of RP and interaction between the party! Like Eamon says, good work everyone :)
Glad you like the NPCs, too :)
GM Ladile |
As always, please ask if there's anything unclear about what's going on. This encounter has a lot of moving parts and I was also a bit tired last night when I wrote that last combat post so if I've goofed up on anything then I apologize!
I've got a few things to do within the next few hours but after that I'll be back and ready to update further :)
Eredur Smagg the Younger |
Sorry, life is quite hectic at the moment, I try to keep up with the pace
GM Ladile |
Shelya, I'm sorry you've been sick but I'm glad you're starting to feel better! I was going to update this morning but the site crashed and then I needed to get some sleep. Going to go ahead and update now but I'll hold off on botting you :)

Hey-ho guys, I just got home from work and need to get to bed as I have a wedding to attend later this evening. I'll do my best to squeeze in an update before I leave later but if not, it'll likely be tomorrow before I can move us forward. In the meantime, I hope everyone has a great weekend :)
GM Ladile |
Okay folks, decision time and I'll leave it entirely up to you. We're almost at the point where I can wrap up the scenario as-is *or* we can continue just a little longer if you still want to go visit Traitor's Mews. Visiting there might help a few more things fall into place for you in terms of the narrative but as far as success conditions go you've basically completed the mission assigned to you. I'll leave it up to you guys on what you'd like to do and I'll go with whatever the majority votes - if you want to keep going, great! If not, that's also fine and it won't hurt my feelings any :)
Dalen Stonestep |
Well, we don't know that in character, and I'd like to make sure that the people there are okay.
In either case. Thanks for running this! It has been a blast and I hope that I get to do this again in the future.
GM Ladile |
Fair enough! And to be honest, I debated and still kind of debate my decision to make the above post in the first place for that reason but I decided potential OOC stuff - if people are busy, feeling scenario fatigue, etc. - outweighed the potential harm a break in the fourth wall might cause. But! That's also the sort of feedback I'm planning on asking about once we're finished :)
Eamon Valda |
I want to keep going..the interaction with this group is dynamic...enjoying every moment!
GM Ladile |
Alrighty folks, I'll be working day shift for the next three days so barring possible quick RP updates on lunch breaks my posting will happen in the evenings (CST or -6 GMT) during that time :)
GM Ladile |
As Eamon's latest post hints at, he asked to bow out just a little early in order to fit his PC into another game that's starting up. He'll still receive credit for everything that he's participated in so there's no issue there. Don't worry, the rest of you will continue on to Traitor's Mews but unfortunately I'm out of time for tonight and that will have to wait until tomorrow evening!
Karayan |
My apologies for not posting. I had some things to deal with that had priority.
GM Ladile |
Sorry for the quiet the last day or two guys; work was awful Friday night and then I was busy most of yesterday and today. I'm working a later shift tomorrow and I will either move us forward tomorrow evening if things are slow or tomorrow night once I get home!
