★★★OVERSEER ANNOUNCEMENT★★★

After a loud crack and a ripple of arcane energy, silence falls across the museum as the construct guards freeze in place and haunted relics drop to the ground. Nigel’s voice rings out, magically projected throughout the museum: “We’ve disabled the magical security measures. Since we haven’t found the thieves yet, they must be hiding in my third-story study. Please subdue them; they have much to answer for!”

The clatter of a Pathfinder toppling a clockwork defender garbles some of Nigel Aldain’s announcement, and there are still intermittent sounds of battle throughout the museum. There’s no question that the Society’s efforts have quelled the worst of the trouble, and hopefully that will reassure whoever hides on the third floor.

@Table GMs: You have until October 19 to run Part C on page 14. The “Subdued Defenses” condition on page 16 is in effect.

Can't remember if pbs counts in minimum damage. It would be 5 if so. I think you must hit though.

Based on what I've seen, I am of the opinion that PBS does not apply to the splash damage, only to the direct hit.

--------------

Babine lands a crushing blow on the red foe, while Haska’s bomb damages blue. Just as you brace for their counter attack, a ripple of arcane energy rips through the museum, causing their movements suddenly grind to a halt! Looking around, the defenses all around the museum seem to have similarly halted. The voice of Nigel Aldain rings out, instructing you to proceed up the stairs into the recently unsealed study.

--------------
As you reach the top of the stairs you see mahogany walls and domed, plaster ceiling that both show signs of heavy damage. Most of the luxurious furniture and the crystal chandelier are intact. The contents of cabinets and bookcases lie strewn about the floor. A small wooden panel near the door hangs open, revealing an arcane sigil covered in scorch marks.
A Kellid woman dressed in furs with intricate scars all over her body steps forward. She holds a hand up and says, “Stay back. We are members of the Twinhorn following, and we have only come to retrieve what was stolen from us.”

A towering figure steps forward; his translucent red form is that of a man clad in heavy armor and wielding twin warhammers. “Medda, they must be in league with the thieves; they should die for crossing us.” The man’s voice sounds hollow and unnaturally loud, and as he speaks, the chandelier glows with a dull light. The woman, Medda, puts a hand on the figure’s arm and says, “Maybe we should give them a chance to explain themselves, Anok.”

The face of Babine transpires his confusion.
He was ready to meet the thieves, but all he sees now are just others victims of them.

Where are they? he thinks as he glances the room. Are they already outside?

"That is great that you are able to retrieve what was stolen for you." says Babine. " I am Theodore Steven Arthur Joseph Antony the Third, but you can call me Babine. Our organisation, the pathfinder society, was send here to catch the thieves and stop the chaos they brought."

He extends his hand toward the kellids.

"It is sad that they are already gone from this place. Anyways, I am always happy to make new friends. You are?"

Would we've had time to heal before moving up here?

Oiur takes in the despoiled luxury of the scene (any Knowledge check to learn about that sigil behind the panel is?) before directing themself towards the woman, presumably named Medda. They bow shallowly.

"I, for one, would like to avoid further violence and property damage. We are here on behalf of the Pathfinder Society, and we merely protect the museum's contents—some of which belong to our organization, and some of which have animated and attacked us." They tilt their chin down and look at the crimson apparition. "I assume your colorful friend might have a had a hand in that."

"Regardless, we are not curators, and know nothing of what belongs to the Twinhorn following. We are simply here to pacify the museum." Oiur raises their eyebrows and fixes Medda with a cautiously hopeful emerald gaze. "Perhaps we can do that by heping you find what was taken from you?"

Medda responds, “We do not need your help, we have already found it. These Blakros people stole our most precious heirloom.” Medda retrieves a bundle of bloody bandages, then unwraps it to reveal a dagger hilt with only the fragment of a black blade. “It belonged to Ivvora, a champion of Vildeis who vanquished the great black evil from our land over 900 years ago. We kept it safe until the Blakros agents stole it three months ago.”

Medda dives out of the way, standing up just as a roiling wave of flesh gushes forward, materializing in the wreckage. Amid the fatty surge wriggle half-formed limbs and a dripping tumorous face. It appears quite angry.

Knowledge (planes) DC 13:
DREAD LEMURE LE Large outsider (devil, evil, extraplanar, lawful)
The shapeless mass of quivering flesh in front of you is a Lemure, the least of devilkind. This one, however, looks larger and more advanced than most. What spark of instinct or memory lingers on within a lemure's semi-consciousness regularly shapes its features to mimic those of its tormentors or the tortured souls around it. Grotesque and useless, a lemure's features speak nothing of what it once was.

For every 5 that you beat the DC, you may ask for one piece of information from this list.

”If you’re true in your intentions, help me protect my people from this menace!” Medda says, gesturing for her Kellid companions to keep their distance. They dutifully follow her command.

@Alphonez Yep! Can opt in or out at the start of each turn.

    Raging Song:
If a raging song affects allies, when the skald begins a raging song and at the start of each ally’s turn in which they can hear the raging song, the skald’s allies must decide whether to accept or refuse its effects. This is not an action. Unconscious allies automatically accept the song. If accepted, the raging song’s effects last for that ally’s turn or until the song ends, whichever comes first.

I also didn't realize it only lasted the duration of your turn, so it wouldn't actually affect your AC in most cases! Weird.

I know not what brought that creature here, but it only reinforces my desire to leave this accursed place." Medda and the Twinhorns resume gathering their gear and preparing to go downstairs, as previously planned.
