Taklinn peers down the stairs and sees the bottom of the stairs....and see that it opens to a larger room, but can't see beyond the stairwell.

Dustin murmurs a quick incantation and his staff radiates with light. He then follows Taklinn downstairs.


Taklinn moves down the steps and looks through the doorway at the bottom. This brick-walled room is fifty feet long and twenty-five feet wide and the ceiling stands twenty feet tall. Abandoned metal braces, likely once used to hold up shelves of items, are studded along the north and south brick walls. A fresh, new looking wooden door is closed on the east wall.

The entire room smells of unwashed flesh and possesses a faint, sickly sweet odor. The room is unbelievably hot, a sharp contrast to the cold brewery above. Makeshift shelves stand on east and west ends of the room, some of them sparsely filled with books. A large, round wooden table sits in the middle of the room, surrounded by chairs. Along the entire length of the north wall are stacked cages, jars, buckets, bottles and various bits of masonry, all teaming with a wide variety of insects.

Taklinn see three men look up in surprise the sudden appearance of a dwarf!

I was unsure cause al is basically behind all the goons in terms of init so the order is sorta messed up for me. so that means garret is out of wand range and I can't and haven't used it on him then.

Searching the men, you find the two thugs each had studded leather, a heavy wooden shield, masterwork warhammer, dagger, and 44 gp, while the caster carried a potion of cure moderate wounds, masterwork hide armor, masterwork sickle, sling with 10 bullets, and 700 gp.

Wiping the blood from his axe onto the dead man's clothes, Taklinn lets out a sigh of disappointment as he grumbles "Well, that was hardly worth the effort. Hopefully the next room's got a challenge to it." He'll then conduct a search of the room for any clues as to Skagni's whereabouts before moving on to the next door.
