Fendahl recalls that the party did just pass a giant statue... and he suspects that the Pathfinders will need the right tablet. The word "Rebirth" written on the table in 20 languages should be a hint.
At the heart of this vaulted hall stands a twenty-foot-tall stone statue that depicts a beautiful woman wearing a tunic and wielding a khopesh of polished bronze. On her left index finger is a massive torc of twisted bronze and gold -- in the shape of a snake devouring itself. Ornate columns bulge from the walls bearing carvings of wheat stalks and serpents eating their own tails. Set on the walls between the columns, there are six bronze mirrors.
Fendahl Silvermane |
Fendahl will move to the large statue of the woman.
Hrrmm, she appears to have a ring we could try.
He will check it for traps and try to remove it.

She does not appear to be evil...at least growth and farming types are usually not associated to that mindset.
He will inspect the mirrors.

Naghamadi's Sense Motive: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
"...but she is quite the august figure, isn't she? Almost as much as milady," He says, tipping his tail in Lucija's direction.

Lucija aids Naghamadi's Knowledge (Planes): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
"I can't quite make out what she is, all you pentoids look so much alike-"
"A shaitan," interjects Lucija. Then she turns her imperious glare to the rest of the party. "For those provincials among you who don't know, they are the genies of the earth."
"YES! A shaitan," Replies Naghamadi, slapping himself gently on the back of his head with his tail.
Lucija needs no mirrors to know how grand she is.
Bane 342 |

GM will all night work instead of fort save. If it will then I will use it and then take the 20 to get a total of 30
This treated wafer dissolves into a chalky paste when placed under the tongue and then gives the imbiber a jolt of restless energy. It eliminates the effects of fatigue for the next 8 hours; when the drug's effect ends, the user isexhausted. Allnight makes its users jittery and unable to focus; they suffer a –2 penalty on all skill checks until its effects wear off
GMTrex |
Fendahl is able to remove the torc, and it fits perfectly into the third table's indentation in the room with the strange device. As the ouroboros slides into position, a ripple of dark energy runs through it, flowing into the volcanic glass cylinder.
@ Artian: hopefully that gives you a hint as to what you need to do...
@ Bane: the building is shaking continually now and you expect it will collapse within the hour. Taking all night is not an option, and neither is Taking 20 (which is the equivalent of 1 hour's work).
Bane too throws out his back trying to move the stone, but fortunately has a potion on hand to remedy the issue.
Looks like Tortuga and Bane are on Moving duty, so why don't each of you make 6 Str rolls and any Fort saves you'd like to (one for each remaining shelf). Who is taking on Cataloging (please make 6 rolls as well)? Who is taking on Studying (please make appropriate rolls as well)?

My brain doesn't work today, but I'll try to guess
It looks we need to do something to with the tables to avoid, or provoke, the rebirth of a shaitan. A shaitan that can be provoking the movements.
Sense motive: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (12) + 12 = 24
They have a shaitan, and she looks like a creature of great pride -- and vanity...
What is more, we're in a room with mirrors that can affect you, and there was a shelve with information about "Secrets of Mirrors" can they be related? Then he moves the mirrors so the shaitan can see herself in then, hopefully avoiding to look himself into the mirrors.
Will save: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12
We need to do something with thew tables, but I don't know what? He adds frustrated, Those of you who are in the library had seen something related to rebirth? And any has any idea of what to do in the table with the indentation of a body? Besides put ourselves in it. I'll prefer that to be the last option.
Fendahl Silvermane |
Nodding in thoughts like Artian's
Hrrmm. I am not certain of the path here. If we are to find our missing Sage, we can continue with the books or try with the tables. But time races against us.
The indentation for a person troubles me. If we are to rebirth the Sage or the Shaitan.
I suggest we continue research for a few minutes more and perhaps fate will lead us to the path of knowledge.

With a little help from Bane, Tortuga is able to move the last pile of tablets. Fendahl makes some progress on the Secrets of Mirrors and is able to report that the Signs of the Sun and Courses of the Moon (unsurprisingly) teach astronomy and astrology.
Tortuga, however, makes the critical discover in Signs of the Clouds and the Earth. While the majority of these tablets deal with agriculture, farming, and meteorology, a trio of tablets are entitled the Rites of Rebirth. The first, labeled "The Harvest," describe the cutting of 12 wheat stalks with a sickle. The second, "The Feast," is a recipe for a concoction that supposedly triggers rebirth. The final tablet, "The Rebirth," details the process of the soul slipping away into a receptacle that can keep it safe for eternity.
You can continue researching if you want, but you have the important tablet and the temple is still shaking uncontrollably.
Fendahl Silvermane |
Master Tortuga, you seem to have unlocked the puzzle with the tablets and table. I have no intention of using process.
If that is all we need, we may want to exit and report back our findings.
Although some of these tomes may be worth taking note. The collapse of this room seems eminent.
does our seeking gem point to the chamber we now occupy?
Artian Shirinez |
I think there's no reason to roll Artian's research in those 30 minutes, right?
I know no much about the jewel sages, but they're not said to have the wisdom of the previous jewel sages in their jewels? Having the souls of the previous sages in a receptacle looks a good way to "store" that wisdom before the sage dies from age.
Having said that, Artian goes to inspect the cilinder; CAn the jewel be hidden inside?
Also, the map looks like we have a room still to visit and known to us. The black square in the middle. Once he finished to inspect the glass Artian suggest to go there to continue explorating
GMTrex |
The seeking stone is not so precise. Its brightness indicates that the sage jewel is nearby but no more than that. You may wish to assume that the collapse of the temple will mean that the sage jewel is lost forever.
Tablet in hand, Artian leads the way toward the strange, shaking device in the other room. As he crosses the main chamber, however, the southernmost column in the long hall shatters with a loud bang, creating a large cloud of dust. Moments later, creaking mournfully, the giant statue starts moving!

Putting Bane and Lucija on delay for now.
Devoid of its first target, the khopesh swings for Fandral's fair face, spattering rich red blood over the sandstone wall. A huge fist slams into the ground next to him.

Tortuga channels his ki to quickly attack. If the statue falls, he will deliver a flying kick to the undead attacking Lucija.
Spending a ki point for an additional attack.

CCW: 4d8 + 10 ⇒ (1, 7, 6, 8) + 10 = 32
Step back when you can, Lucija. This should help, but I cannot do it again. Kirrah, keep fighting, I will get to you next.
Artian Shirinez |
Lucija, put yourself behind me. I'll protect you
If Lucija Withdraws Artian plans to heal her, 10 HP and bleeding doesn't look good
Fendahl Silvermane |
Lucija should be at 42/60 with no bleed after Fendahl's cure.
So free to take on another of the undead Artian. Unless you want to cure one of the others. Kirrah is hurt, but not that badly.

Blood running down his neck, Fandral pins the shaitan's jaws with a powerful upward thrust, and the sandstone crumbles into lifelessness! Tortuga leaps back into the fray with a flying side-thrust kick that crunches into an undead's bones, followed by a powerful spinning back-kick. His rakes find air and smoke in place of flesh and blood. (2 hits, 8 dmg to self.) Kirrah's paw finds better purchase only once, and her master provides much needed healing to his companion.
