Looking back at the others before opening the door, Vailis says "So, what do you others say? Do you like the idea? Let's keep moving and demonstrate we can pass this test!" The half-elf points towards the door with enthusiasm.


The door is firmly shut. After a little effort you able to force it open As soon as you do the air rushes in to fill it, resulting in severe wind conditions within 10 feet of the door for 1 round.

Rows of metal shelving fill this room. The shelves bear the look of long disuse but are surprisingly dust-free, considering the age of this place. Most of the shelves hold assorted pieces of machinery: wires, gears, and cases of bolts and screws, though nothing seems organized in any logical fashion.

Before going in, Vailis realizes he is still injured after the fight. He takes his cure light wounds wand and starts healing himself.

When the door is open, pushing back for a while because of the wind, Vailis approaches the shelves cautiously. "Seems no one has been around for a time. What this strange place was devoted to? It doesn't seem the usual dungeon." Cleaning a bit the shelves and looking around the wires and gears, Vailis start to examine the room "Let's check if there is anything useful among this things. It might tell us what is all this structure itself."

"Oh man, I could use this stuff too!" Van exclaims, looking like a child in a toy shop for a moment before clearing his throat and adopting a nonchalant air, "But yeah, we should look for anything important."

The first item found is a box containing numbered buttons, identical to those on the control panels and the lift keypad in area B3. A sequence of numbers (9, 2, 7, 4, 6) is painted on the underside of the box lid, along with a short message in Goblin and two brown e-picks.

“The commander will kill the next guard he catches using a note to remember the lift code. Just use this when needed.”

Van casually grabs one of the e-picks and stores it on his person, then takes a peek at the writing, "It basically says those numbers are the code sequence for the elevated platform. Apparently they were too dumb to memorize it, ha!"

Two shiny metal tables or beds stand across from one another in the center of this oval room, with metal restraints positioned at the head, foot, and middle of each table. Metal racks along the north and south walls hold assorted sharp-looking implements. A rounded hutch protrudes from the eastern wall. The hutch on the eastern wall is locked, with another five-fingered “handprint” panel on it.

"Have you tried using one of those gloves?" Van asks, as he sets to work disabling the hutch's locking mechanism, "Should be easier now that I have an e-pick."

Touching the glove to the panel is enough to open the hutch.

Inside the hutch are three vials of glowing blue liquid—potions of cure light wounds—and a medlance.

Medlance (Technology Guide 49; DC 23):
This wandlike device contains a reservoir at one end and a small pad at the other. A medlance can be filled with a single dose of liquid, such as a pharmaceutical, a potion, or a poison. It can then be used to administer the liquid to a creature—if the target does not wish to be injected with the medlance’s contents, the wielder must succeed at a touch attack to dispense it as a standard action. Otherwise, administering liquid via a medlance is a move action. A medlance doesn’t use charges, but after being
used to administer 10 injections, its internal sterilization mechanisms are depleted and the device becomes useless.

Hrmmm, after reading over the thread it appears that Striker left out a few important things. I'll retcon as best I can.

Important Thing #1
When you first pulled the lever on the central plinth in the main room, not only did the holograms and message whir to life, but this was also accompanied by an enormous clamoring and the sound of gnashing gears from all around you. The very room shook. A subsequent inspection of the way you came in reveals that you are now trapped here: solid wall (yes, solid, not illusory) has somehow replaced the door. The holographic display of the area indicates that a ring of 'hangers' containing robots surrounds this area, and that ring is now stuck between hangars.

Important Thing #2-a
It is the intent of the Silver Crusade leadership to lead a campaign of redemption, encouraging its agents to guide wrongdoers back onto the path of good and righteousness.

Important Thing #2-b
The two bandits you encountered alive are wary of you but insist that the death of their friends must needs turn out to be worthwhile, and demand a cut of every bit of treasure you find here. How you react to this is important. The woman, Shechera, appears to be mostly in charge (but also slightly in awe of her counterpart) and complains and gripes as you explore this new area together. The man, Meleren, is rather curious in appearance: his slightly ashen skin tone is laced with odd, linear green tattoos--and his face is always expressionless. He is fairly taciturn, but when he does speak, his tone is unfailingly flat. These are actually rather interesting NPCs, so please interact with them if you are so inclined!

I'll expend as many charges from the Cure Light Wounds wand to get them fully healed. If you want me to make a bunch of rolls, I will. Or if you want to just take the average (5) for each use and tell me how many charges that uses, I'll make a note of it.

"Lame." Van says with mild annoyance as his attempt to use the ion gauntlet on the hologram fails, "Let's try the central pillar, we got the numbers now so that might make a difference. I can try to make it work if we can't figure out the right way."

@ Marin: One hit should be enough for Meleren and Shechera chugged the vial Van passed over, so she's set. Make a diplomacy/Charisma roll for Meleren though!

"Oh, that?" says Shechera. She shrugs. "Needed coin few years back in Diobel. It just sort of happened I guess. Then I got caught with the wrong body at the wrong time and packed up for Absalom."

"And him," she gestures at Meleren, "He's new. But he's sure been handy. An uncanny knack with tools and such."

Meleren simply nods and adds, utterly without emotion, "A bandit is better than a slave."

Pushing the gauntlet onto the handpad and entering the code on the keypad does seem to work. Four new buttons light up:

Eidi follows the orders and once everybody is in the lift he pushes the arrow to go up "I hope this take us out of this weird hell."

With a lurch, the circular chamber begins to rise, but it jolts to a halt after a dozen seconds or so. A flashing red light appears next to the door-opening panel, accompanied by a faint buzzing sound. A moment later, a gentle, soothing voice fills the room (first in Goblin then a second time in Common). "Negligible atmosphere detected. Do you wish to proceed? Push open button twice for yes."
