@ Cott: yes, you are correct. Instead the troll moves further forward and readies the attack for the first creature within reach (although you don't know that, on the other side of the door).

Thadd once again kills an already heavily injured goblin, completely obliterating it with his blade (with contributions from Cadmuk). Only one remains. Khakil begins a new song while Luc runs around to back up Cott.

Still waiting on Jasmine and Cott.

Okay, here's my best attempt at figuring out what happens per initiative order/posting order/post specifications

Cadmuk fires two errant arrows shortly before Thadd slays the last of the goblins. Jasmine steps behind the fighter and picks up her crossbow; Khakil keeps singing and dismisses the grease before casting another.

Reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 FAIL

The troll falls to the floor and Khakil approaches. This, however, triggers the readied action of the troll, since Khakil is now within reach even from the ground. This changes the troll's initiative to right before Khakil. The troll bites the bard in the foot.

Bite @ Khakil: 1d20 + 8 - 4 ⇒ (17) + 8 - 4 = 21 HIT Damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

Cott and Jenny each open a door (a move action, and FYI I find the 'instruction' to Jenny here a little dubious but I'll ignore it for now) and attack the downed troll, landing two light blows that immediately begin healing.

Luc tries to disarm from around the door [ooc](-4 penalty offset by the prone target bonus) but it's hard to disarm teeth and claws.

Jasmine eventually gets a potion down the bard's throat, who wakes up and remembers that trolls regenerate absurdly quickly if you don't burn them. Khakil passes this information to Cott, who drops out of dino-form to burn the crap out of the carcass.

This leaves the group with an extremely bloody, extremely charred body of a foul-smelling troll across the entire hallway.

A thorough search of the complex (because you have no remaining obstacles to free exploration) comes up with very little beyond hundreds of shiny baubles collected by the goblins. However, the office you stumbled into earlier yields a few items of note, including a trove of coded messages and a box full of gold worth approximately 1500gp.

Most importantly, there are three yet-to-be-coded messages (you find no trace of the code cipher itself):

Missive #1:

Dear Caggrigar,

The mission in Kaer Maga is proceeding as ordered, though Absalom has seen fit to send Pathfinders here to look into our presence. One of my lieutenants, that fool bard if you must know, murdered Collgardie too late--the old man sent a letter to Dreng and now we’re hip-deep in Pathfinder entanglements. As you well know, this is a difficult city for murder and mayhem--killing the wrong person at the wrong time with the wrong tool can result in a blood feud or, worse, your expulsion from the city. We are not popular here anymore.

I humbly ask that we scrap this part of the plan and try to establish our headquarters in Whitethrone instead. It’s farther from Absalom than Kaer Maga and I know of no one there that the Society counts as a loyal agent.

Humbly Yours,
Kormiggon Sussworth
Kaer Maga Lodge

Missive #2:

Dear Hondo Heru,

I never believed that your ancient Osirian technique for acquiring a tribe of pet goblins would work--but I must now eat my words, dearest Hondo, and tell you that it did. No matter what you hear about my mission here, know that the goblin trick worked.

Sincerely,
Kormiggon Sussworth
Kaer Maga Lodge

Missive #3:

Dear Dorianna Ouidda,

What news from Almas? It’s been many months since your last letter and I admit that I’m growing worried that you were found out. Is your disguise still intact? Do you need assistance? Any word from you would be gratefully appreciated.

Sincerely Yours,
Kormiggon Sussworth
Kaer Maga Lodge

After collecting everything of interest, you burn the place to the ground and go find Cadmuk some help at the nearest Temple of Irori.

It appears that the Shadow Lodge's plans are disrupted--for now. The Ardoc family and the Commerce League are both appreciative of your success and both take time to inform you that the Pathfinders are still welcome with the walls of Kaer Maga, so long as you don't cause any more trouble. The Duskwardens also thank you for uncovering the source of the goblins that were causing a ruckus in the Halflight Path.

Taking Wymund Pratt and the other captives back to Absalom is a long, arduous journey with unruly prisoners, but you eventually arrive safely. On your return to Absalom, your party is summoned to a meeting with Venture-Captain Drandle Dreng, who asks what you have to report.

"Pathfinders, I am pleased to see you well. It has been several moons since I sent you to Varisia. What news?"

Liberty's Edge

"The Shadow Lodge is a real thing…we've disrupted their plans for now but I should keep eyes and ears on the situation for I fear this may be a situation where two heads grow in place of the one that is cut off." Hail HYDRA!

Kingmaker Tactical | Strategic | The Marchlands | Campaign Tracking

Dreng listens intently and shakes his head, expressing consternation. "Yes yes, that's the way it seems. Day by day, the Shadow Lodge emerges from the shadows, becoming less a rumor and more a reality--a reality we shall have to face."

*cue turning to gaze out a rainy window*

"Well, Pathfinders, you have done a great service. Please, stay a while here at the Grand Lodge. I imagine that missions against the Shadow Lodge will be plentiful quite soon. Prepare yourselves for war..."

Thaddaeus wins a boon! Yay! Here are your choices, let me know which one you want (and send me an email address):

Adopted Weapon Training: You have spent an extended period of time training in a culture other than your own, and as a result, you have learned that population’s weapon styles to the exclusion of all others. You gain the weapon familiarity racial trait of one of the following races: dwarf, elf, gnome, halfling, or half-orc. This specialization comes at a price, and you suffer a –1 penalty on attack rolls made with manufactured weapons other than those granted by any weapon familiarity racial traits you possess. You ignore this penalty when using a weapon that benefits from any Weapon Focus feat or weapon training class feature you may have.

Ancestral Ally: Golarion’s many cultures have traditions of animal husbandry and cooperation that date back millennia, and you have embraced one of your people’s favored companion creatures. If you have the divine bond or mount class feature, instead of choosing an animal companion from the list provided in the class description, you may instead call a mount from the list below so long as you are a member of the corresponding race. If the animal companion statistics for your race’s mount are found in a source beyond the Core Assumption, the source is listed below. You must bring a copy of the listed book to all games in which you use the selected animal companion as though access to the animal companion came from the Additional Resources list.

If an asterisk follows an animal companion option listed below, the animal already appears on the list provided by your class description, and you are at least 4th-level, you may spend 5 Prestige Points to strengthen your bond with that type of animal. This increases your effective druid level as one higher when determining the animal companion’s bonus HD, natural armor bonus, Strength and Dexterity bonuses, bonus tricks, and special abilities. This boon cannot increase your effective druid level more than one level above your actual character level.

Dwarf: badger*, boar
Elf: bird*, elk (Pathfinder RPG Bestiary 3)
Gnome: badger*, giant weasel (Pathfinder RPG Bestiary 4)
Halfling: dog*, ram (Pathfinder RPG Bestiary 2)
Half-Elf: A half-elf may choose from the elf and human lists.
Half-Orc: camel*, bear; a half-orc may also choose from the human list.
Human: bird*, horse*

Custom Order: You have a special contract with an ammunition crafter, and you are able to order small batches of specialty ammunition as a result. Choose either a +1 or +2 ranged weapon enchantment. You may purchase +1 [enchantment] pieces of ammunition in sets of 10 instead of sets of 50. Once you choose the weapon enchantment, you may only change the enchantment type by spending 4 Prestige Points.

Human (Vudrani) Monk (Zen Archer) 11

Let me know next time you're running a game Trex. Either Cott or Petrus would be free.

My Oread took the dwarf weapon training. Dwarf and Elf trainings are probably the best mechanically.
