"A name is not much to go by. I was hoping for the location of their lodge. I feel like I'm getting familiar with this city. Well, let's hope that the name Vardonna does not provoke as much fear as Dakar did."

All will be explained! Just waiting for Scoot to get here. It's more or less a day or two after your fight in the Naderi theater.

Sovereign Court

Male Half-Elf Bard Lvl 5 HP: 38/38, AC:19 (FF:14, Tch:13), Perception+9, Initiative+4, F+2, R+6, W+3, Bardic Performances: 12/17, Spells: (lvl1: 5/6, lvl2: 2/3)

Here!

Kingmaker Tactical | Strategic | The Marchlands | Campaign Tracking

After the fight in the Naderi Theater, you knew your mission in Kaer Maga was not complete--elements of this so-called "Shadow Lodge" were still active in Kaer Maga. Drandle Dreng sent you here over a month ago to investigate rumors of Pathfinders founding a Lodge here, and the mystery has only deepened with time. Over a month distant from Skyreach in Absalom, you nevertheless resolved to bring your prisoner (who's name you have yet to ask...) to the Society for further questioning, and you have pleaded with Besel Ardoc to keep him bound up in the city. Meanwhile, you search for more clues of this elusive "Lodge" in Kaer Maga...

You wander a Downmarket street a few days after the events at the theater, when suddenly the street is empty of residents, the choking mass of humanity and monsters suddenly remembering they had something better to do. Standing about you in a loose circle are six burly men carrying cudgels and a seventh man, skinny and bedecked in robes and jewels, his right hand in a pouch on his belt. All of the men stare intently at you.

"Dakar says you owe him a favor," says the skinny man in robes. "You’ll need to come with us."

Grand Lodge

Male Human Cott: Druid (Saurian Shaman) Lvl 5 HP 48/48, AC: 18 (FF: 16, Tch: 13), Perception + 11, Initiative +4, F+7, R+4, W+8 Jenny: Raptor Lvl 5 HP 46/46, AC: 21 (FF: 17, Tch: 15), Perception + 5, Initiative +4, F+8, R+8, W+2

"Wondered when we'd be seeing you again. Dakar wastes no time hmm? Alright then, bag us up. But Jenny's coming with me this time. She gets anxious if she's left alone too long."

Kingmaker Tactical | Strategic | The Marchlands | Campaign Tracking

The man with his hand in the bag shakes his head and smiles. "We only brought six bags. Don't worry, we'll take good care of her."

***

Once again, each of your heads are covered in a thick black bag, inside which you hear only a thunderous silence. A long, bumpy, cramped carriage ride later, you are marched through several turns of streets (large hallways?) and eventually stopped. The bags are removed, and again you find yourselves in a lavish club or private residence facing an immense, backlit screen.

The voice behind the screen is direct and to the point. "You owe me a favor, little Pathfinders. It's time to pay up."

"You sought me out seeking information; I have brought you here to secure extermination. The Commerce League and the Ardocs have agreed that the reign of the Shadow Lodge within the walls of Kaer Maga is at an end."

"We see this problem as easily solved, by you. To pay off your favor to me, you will rid Kaer Maga of this meddlesome organization. You will track down the remaining Shadow Lodge agents, identify their headquarters in Kaer Maga, and exterminate its members. You will give no quarter. You will burn their headquarters to the ground. You will not leave a single soul left alive. Are we understood?"

Silver Crusade

Human (Vudrani) Monk (Zen Archer) 11

"They are Pathfinders. They may have fallen, but they are worth redeeming. Will you be content if the lodge is splintered, but the agents are returned to Absalom?"

Grand Lodge

Male Human Cott: Druid (Saurian Shaman) Lvl 5 HP 48/48, AC: 18 (FF: 16, Tch: 13), Perception + 11, Initiative +4, F+7, R+4, W+8 Jenny: Raptor Lvl 5 HP 46/46, AC: 21 (FF: 17, Tch: 15), Perception + 5, Initiative +4, F+8, R+8, W+2

Cott pointedly and tactfully avoids mentioning that exterminating the Shadow Lodge is EXACTLY what he offered to do last time he was here, but the high and mighty Dakar claimed not to be worried about them.

"My companion has a soft heart.
Says Cott with a glance at Cadmuk

"Personally I'm rather less inclined to offer mercy to this band of apostates who have twice attempted to murder us, and seek to sow discord and destruction throughout the Society. I for one would be perfectly content to burn them out, root and stem. To leave nothing of them behind but bone and ash.

Tell us what you know of their remaining agents and activities in the city, and I will bend my will to their complete eradication.

The agent we captured in the theater mentioned another operative, Vadoma. Have you heard this name before?"

Jasimine, takes a few moments while in Kaer Maga to upgrade her gear. When she is done, she no longer has her studded leather, she replaced it with very shiny chain shirt. bought +1 mithril chain shirt :)

When confronted by the men with clubs and the all to familiar black bag, she sighs. Look boys, the black bag things is soo, last year. Can't we mix it up a bit? Perhaps I could tie you up this time and lead you around? she says with a smirk and a giggle.

She does give in to the bag treatment as before, and when presented with the favor owed to Besel, she shrugs at first. The her face turns a bit sour as she is told to eradicate them and leave no trace.

Look sunshine, I may be a little loose fingered and pick up things that don;t belong to me. But I sure ain't no cold-blodded killer. I agree with the sentiments before me, that they tried to kill my beautiful ass jot once, but twice, and for that alone they deserve hell. But if and it may be a big IF, they can be redeemed, reasoned with, whatever. I just have seen enough bloodshed for one lifetime. Her last thought, she eyeballs Cott, and the visceral display shown at the Collgardie home still etched into her skull, as she shudders at the mere thought.

Really loving the RP here folks! I also appreciate the hesitation to be murderhobos. Sadly...

The voice emits a deep sigh. "You show too much concern for your supposed enemies. I'd hoped you would not refuse. It's with great sadness that I must inform you your lives are now forfeit. It's clear that your Society and the Shadow Lodge are one and the same, and the Ardocs and I will cleanse the city of both of you. That is, of course, unless you’d like to change your mind?"

DC 20 Sense Motive:
You get the sense that this is the way of Kaer Maga politics--kill or be killed--but that Dakar MIGHT be willing to let you leave the man from the Naderi theater alive to bring back to Absalom. Make a diplomacy check.

Silver Crusade

Human (Vudrani) Monk (Zen Archer) 11

"I don't want to die! I'm too young for this! My parents told me that I should never have signed up for the Pathfinder Society and now look at the position I'm in. I will never be able to tell them about the good I was able to accomplish. If I die in this accursed city, they will never know what happened to me."

Dear Irori, help me focus my mind and stop panicking. Let me be at one with you. What would you have me do in this situation?!

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24

Cadmuk regains his composure and replies calmly and with courage now it his voice, "Dakar, I have dedicated my life to service and I am happy to be of service to you. I only ask that you let us free to do the job that we have come here to do. Trust me, you will be pleased with the results. The shadow lodge will no longer be a presence in your town. However, you must let us do it our way. You will not regret this decision!"

"With all due respect…if the Society and the Shadow Lodge were one in the same then we would be in the shadows with them. I will not hesitate to take a life if I feel as though my life, or the lives of innocents, are in danger. But if you truly wish to remove the scourge of this shadow organization from your lands then we may have to suffer a drone or two to live in order to eliminate the queen."

Here's to hoping he gets that bee analogy…

Cott gives an exasperated sigh that's so low as to be nearly a growl and glares at Cadmuk and Jasmine.

"For Gods' sakes, how green are you kids? The Society has never been above getting a bit bloody to further or preserve itself. This isn't the first time Dreng has sent a team into the field on a mission of murder. Hell, it's not even the first time he's sent ME to kill in the name of the Decimverate.

You're free to forfeit your own lives in exchange for those of the traitors who are trying to kill us and destroy the Pathfinders, but I'll be damned if I'm going to die in the name of preserving my sense of high minded morality.

I was raised to obey the law of the wild. Kill or be killed. Where I'm from, you're either predator or prey. You can all choose for yourselves, but me personally, I'm on the hunt, and I think you could stand to benefit from a bit of bloodlust yourselves."

Jasmine, tosses her hair back in a flourish. She then gives Cott a stone-cold stare.

Listen, sweetie, I am not against killing should it be my life versus theirs. I am against cold-blooded murder if these people who swayed from our Society could be redeemed. Perhaps I am a bit green-behind-the-ears, as you speak, but I didn't get to live as long as I have by mindless killing is all I am saying.

She lets a few moments pass, then looks at Dakar, lets out an exasperated sigh, sugar, even though we may have to agree to disagree on our methods; you have my dagger to help cut out this threat from Kaer Maga and the Society in whole.

This Dakar we're talking with, not Besel. Last we saw of Mr. Ardoc was him wanting to execute our prisoner, but relenting and allowing us to keep him captive at Collgardie's home. It's Dakar we had to promise the favor to, and who is now cashing in.

"Hmph. You can keep one or two alive if you must, but I better be pleased with the results. And if not... you will owe me more than just a favor, little Pathfinders."

When Cott inevitably asks for info... :)

"I have no further information to share. Enterprising little Pathfinders such as yourselves should have no problem tracking them down. You might try Downmarket or the Meatgate in the Warrens--lots of eyes there may have seen something." The voice pauses. "I expect to hear from you soon."
