Bringing my tier 1-2 table through encounter G, and am realising what a slog it is going to be. Who would plan a naturally invisible and incorporeal creature against a party of level 1 and 2s? Sigh... It is doable especially if they think about their tactics (beyond just the usual hacking and slashing), and work together, but it is definitely a challenge.
GM Poblano Pepper |
Anyone able to cast glitter dust by chance?
GM Poblano Pepper |
Ah I see.
Bag of Chalk powder? ^.^
GM kuey |
Hmm, would that work against an incorporeal creature? I would imagine the powder just flying through. :)
GM kuey |
Nope no Druid. Only option is detect magic or detect evil but that takes 3 rounds.
GM Aerondor |
I'm going to be away for a couple of days. Impromptu camping trip organised by the family.
Could a backup GM grab my Core 5-6 table? They are just having a happy fight with the hydra at the moment.
Many thanks.

Sorry need some more advice. For encounter G, my party have found the coffers. However, none of them have disable device and hence unable to pick the lock. They have also found that one is trapped. One of the characters have suggested bringing it to town and get a locksmith to unlock. How much would it reasonably cost to charge them? Or should I just charge them the cost of getting knock cast twice?
GM Dennis |
I think it's reasonable to pay a locksmith to open the untrapped one. Not sure about the trapped chest, though.

G. My table must have hated the Allip.
Seems like the Allip's ability to approach and not break Fascinate condition wasn't accepted.
Just ranting abit. Finished helping to run a mini con and I'm kinda brain dead.
GM Dennis |
My table just knocked the hydra unconscious in one round, thanks to an ill-timed crit from the fighter. It's not dead yet, though, and has enough fast healing to bring it back up after one round, so I'm not going to call it yet.
GM_Yogadragon |
Seems like a good opportunity for the PCs to amp up the crowd and gloat about how awesome they are, before the hydra rises and attacks them from behind. Feels very WWE.

I just checked for my table tier 3-4
The trap in the chest contains Ungol Dust which does CHA Drain and not dmg?
Shifty |
Sort of, so T3-4:
Type mechanical; Perception DC 15; Disable Device DC 15
EFFECTS
Trigger touch (opening chest); Reset no reset
Effect poison gas (ungol dust); never miss; onset delay (1 round); multiple targets (all creatures in a 10-ft. by 10-ft. cube)
Ungol Dust
Type poison (inhaled); Save Fortitude DC 15
Frequency 1/round for 4 rounds
Initial Effect 1 Cha drain; Secondary Effect 1d2 Cha damage; Cure 1 save
nightdeath |
That's an evil trap.
I was afraid of of that part that said drain.

DC 20 religion lets you "Recognize an obscure deity’s symbol or clergy"
I'm assuming Lissala is obscure in this day and age.

Chronicle Question: I have a player at my table playing up, and a player playing down. (2 and 5 in a 3-4). Do they get the 3-4 rewards, or their correct level of rewards?
They will get out of tier rewards.
The level 2 will get the average of the 1-2 and 3-4 rewardsThe level 5 will get the average of the 3-4 and 5-6 rewards
GM Aerondor |
I thought you were only supposed to go out of tier in one direction at any given table in a special.
No idea where I got that from though.
Shifty |
GM Gustavef |
lol. a GM relief relief team?
We can kill the players and blame it on the main table GM :)
GM_Yogadragon |
I thought the whole point of a backup GM was so you could call them in to kill a troublesome PC while avoiding the guilt?

Sounds like GM Light All the fun half the guilt.

If there is a backup GM that could pull that off on my table, I would like to see it.
5 players, APL 18.4 ... sigh...

Divine bolts from the sky are always an option right?
GM Hmm |
Redelia is sick. Can we get a backup to her table? They are in the middle of the hydra fight.
Hmm
GM Poblano Pepper |
I would gladly assist but....
"Oloch busy fighting Hydra."
GM Hmm |
Please do. Thank you, Nightdeath!
Hmm
nightdeath |
I think that battle is over as the kitten brought down the hydra. Lol
Echoing redelia's words.
Good Lord Mr Tiggles.
Redelia |
nightdeath, I think you were looking at the wrong table. Here's mine
Still too sick to think clearly and keep my table moving. I should be back in a day or two.
nightdeath |
oops.
I'll handle it. I'm doing Hydra for mine too so it's about the same.
Posted. Round 1 resolved.
