This is exactly the place my friend! DM Stylz is generally in charge of things around here but there isn't really a sign up process. Just find some available players from the list and invite them to your encounter!
Amazingly, we seem to have a deluge of GM's at the moment so there's some competition for available players. Do you have an encounter ready to go now?
I have a few Darklands based ones that are rolling around.
1. Do we use Roll20, and use forums here>
2. Where is the player list?
3. If we have too many DMs and not enough players (nice problem) can I sign up as a player instead?

You can find all the relevant information in the Campaign Info tab.
So far we use the forums here exclusively for running the encounters. That said, I don't think there's any reason you couldn't organize to play over Roll20 with the players you select.
You're free to sign up as both player and DM, in fact you can earn level bonuses for your character by DMing encounters.
I suggest you take a gander at some of the other encounters people have run to get an idea of how things operate around here. You can find the links by just searching back through the recruitment thread.
Of course, feel free to ask any other questions that come to mind.

I just found the campaign tab info. *smacks forehead*. Thanks for all the help!
This looks like a really great idea. Hope to become a part of it!

How does one sign up to GM an encounter? The only consistent thing I've heard from my players is that my combats are usually really good. I'd like to have some more outlets for making those sorts of things....Is this the place?
First off, WELCOME !!
Create a PC whenever you feel like, unchained is available as well since it is on Nethys now :). If a current PC wants to change from normal to unchained you can have a one time free rebuild to change feats, gear, etc. as per pfs rules :)
I don't mind if games are held on another means (Skype, rolld20, etc), so long as it is clearly understood and expressed when you call PC fit the table :)
Any questions more, please ask, there is always someone to answer them :)
Incorrigible GM |
Hello Everyone! I think it's finally time to kick off my first campaign here.
I'm a little uncertain how up to date the waiting list is so I'm going to take another GM's example and have my encounter work on a first come, first serve system.
Link is above. The encounter is open to characters level 2-4 and I will be taking the first 5 players to check in.
I'm really excited for this one guys! Hope to see you there!

Hey guys, just a reminder, there are still 3 spots left in my Fear the Wild Encounter. Claim yours now!

Bartholomew Barleygrain |
Stylz,
Benlei d'Iction and Jacaranda have both left the encounter Fear the Wild. The GM has not posted since July 27th. We have not done anything except set up, so it's a dud. I wouldn't imagine credit should be given.
The players were:
Bartholomew
Finnian
Jacaranda (leaving group)
Benlei d'Iction (inactive for now)

Did any combat or "event" take place? If set up (aka intro) was all that was done, then I find it would be fair to rule that the game never existed: therefore no level/gp should be given.
If you can make a strong point for the opposite view, then I am always more than happy to listen and I want this to be a fair but FUN game for all involved.
The best I can do about the GM is tell the players to be careful who to game with, idk ??

Archlich: Always welcome to new ppl joining.
All build rules should be detailed out in the Campaign tab. 20 point buy, if it in on Nethys, then its fair game as well as if it is on SRD then should be good to go.
A GM will post that the first X amount of PC between levels Y and Z report to a thread he creates. You play through the scenario and you then gain a level. You then get an amount of gold that put you to next WBL (when you go from level 1 to 2, you get a amount of gold that so you total 1000gp).
If you GM, then you get a credit you can apply to your PC. First time GM gives you a lvel you can apply. Then you get a level for every 2 games you run.
Hope that helps.

Thanks Stylz! From the Character Creation rules, though:
Characters are level 1.
Any core, base or advanced class by paizo.
Any core or featured race by paizo.
Any paizo alternate racial traits/alternate classes.
25 point buy.
Any alignment.
Up to two traits from two different categories (like PFS).
200 GP starting gear.
You can have as much or as little backstory as you want, and you are under no obligation for it to make sense, but I am going to ask for a minimum of a single-sentence in-character quotation.
It says 25-point-buy - should I follow it?
Jereru |
Hello!
I'm Jereru, and I just recently discovered all this world about PbP (being forced to that since my RL group has hard times...). I thought this idea about microgaming was awesome, and nice to submerge myself again in the Pathfinder world, which I had a bit abandoned.
I'll create a characxter, for which I already have an alias, in no time (will start right now!). Where should I post it? In the very alias itself?
Thank you, guys, I'm eager to start playing!
PS: I hope my awful English will not ruin the fun, and will completely understand any complain about it. I'm trying to improve, feel free to correct me anytime.

"Words of Power" are quite powerful when compared to regular spells, but they're a perfectly legal Pathfinder option... :) In a table (like Sacred Geometry and other similar things) the issue with using it is exactly the management, which I think it's what they did by design to compensate its power. In a PbP such issue doesn't exist... Hence why most GMs around here just block it.
