Does anyone from the first game want to start a second character? I'd like to get these fine people on team 2 a chance to play.

I'm always up for it - especially since the Devil Chimps encounter's been so fun thus far. :-) I'll have something up in the next few hours.

No primary spellcasters! The party is really squishy.

Yeah, I noticed that. I'm thinking Monk, but mine always focus on combat maneuvers instead of DPR. Other possibility's a natural weapons Ranger. Which would you prefer?

Play what you like, I'm just worried about total party HP. All the casters need someone to hide behind.

I could always rework my cleric to be more of a battle cleric (or, less preferably, not a kobold. I love the challenge, but I'm sure it makes it tougher for everyone else). Assuming we need a good frontliner.

Do it if that's what you'd like to play, but you'll only be in this specific party for one encounter so it wouldn't make a lot of sense to change your character to suit the set-up.

I'll rebuild my a&%~#*@ Human Monk. He's an AoO build focused on combat maneuvers. Even with the Crane Wing nerf, he's still very tanky. He won't deal much damage at first, but enemies will have a rough time getting through him.

Lantern Lodge

Here ya' go! :-)

He's an escaped Drow slave whose tongue has been removed.

Dialogue Sample: "... ... ..." ;-)

If I can get a spot reserved until this evening I'll gladly fill a slot! Life got in the way of making my last character. I'd be throwing in a humanish inquisitor of the partying god, specializing in sense motive & eventually snake style. Unless of course a role needs to be filled.

Cool, I'll happily wait for you and go in with a 5-man party.

Word, many thanks.

Waaay off topic, but when I was in high school my friends and I used to play D&D (3.0 at the time) with this really obnoxious guy. One day we ended up starting a campaign when he wasn't around, and so to fill in another character slot and make combats easier we made a character who looked pretty much like your avatar who had no tongue named "Blender" who fought with two swords.

We decided that he was being played by the d20 we used to roll for him, and everyone agreed that the d20 was a way better player than the guy he was replaced. Blender was always willing to carry extra gear, or give the team an extra attack when we remembered he existed, and never pissed off important NPCs or attacked other players or held his abilities ransom.

I'm looking at making a character but I had a question about the race options: Aasimars and Tieflings. Are we keeping them standard or can you take the variant heritages or the alternate abilities?

You can take any alternate/variant what-have-you you like.

Ok that widens my options a lot. One more question thought, and I hope it doesn't bother you I'm asking so many, what can we expect with gunslingers? can we craft up to advanced arms?

Sure; I want to get a lot of crafting going on this thing and create a strange little economy.

Group 2 filled up?

Depends on how fast people get their characters in possibly, but there are slots currently for someone to sneak in who is fast. And it's ongoing recruitment so if not you could be at the top of the list of group 3.

Ideally this'll become a homebrew alternative to Pathfinder Society here on the forums - at least, that's what I'd love. I'm just about done prepping an encounter and should have it set to go once Demon Chimps has completed. In time, it would be awesome if this become a thread where there's always players rotating between games, crafting, and ultimately just hanging out having fun.

Re: Brother Hu: he was originally a PFS character I created so I'd have an excuse to use sign language at the table. I'm an interpreter IRL. :-)

Is your encounter level one or two? Because we're about to have a big crop of level 2s after my two encounters end.

I want in on that. See me on the list? I'll have a banked level by then so I'll be able to do it regardless of whether it is one or two.

Personally I'm going to do mixed level groups if it comes up. As long as there isn't a different of more than two levels between any two PCs I'm going to just use whoever is next on the list.

That's what I was planning as well. I have a Level 1-2 scenario. I figured I'd keep my encounters balanced for a 1-3 level spread. As this continues, we'll also need to keep track of who's submitted multiple PCs. Fortunately, it's not too complicated at the moment.

With so many people making characters I thought I was going to launch game 2 before I went to bed tonight, but that's starting to look pretty remote now. I even made a fancy map for it. Not to brag or anything, but this map is the greatest achievement in the history of human endeavor. I'm anxious to post it so everyone can accurately observe how great I am.

That made me giggle.

Hail, friends! I've come to wander the wilds and rid world of evil!

So Jaan is a naive 17 year old pseudo knight. Gifted with divine guidance the lad has a thirst for adventure and the sweet taste of justice. Traveling at his side is his adorable best friend Theomir, a tiny piglet that stays safe and warm in Jaan's backpack, occasionally oinking for comedic effect. Jaan has a secret belief that his little buddy can predict the future through scrying magic.

"Remember kids, being a vampire isn't cool, tell em Theo'!"

"*Snort*"

GypsyMischief's Entry

Added Sir Jaan. Anyone who gets a character up between now and when I finish the chores I'm doing and create the thread might be able to squeak in, otherwise I'm going with who I have.

Probably won't get a character up by then, but dotting to get in the que.

Aaaand tapping Dwynra Naad, Yvanesh, Athraz the Redeemed, Brother Hu and Sir Jaan for The Golden Maggots of the Rotting God.

Do you guys think it would be completely bad form to start a new thread for this game? I didn't realize it would go in the direction it did and I have a lot of ideas for how to organize it better.

Specifically what I'm thinking is have the first recruitment post direct people to the various sections, with the actual recruitment section being exclusively for people posting character aliases with the intend of joining. OOC discussion could be in a linked Discussion thread, then we could put all crafting, shopping, and maybe tavern RP or what have you in a linked gameplay thread. Then all the new player information/lists/whatever goes in the campaign tab, so we can edit it forever if we need to add/change things.

That would also have the added benefit of allowing us to chat in the way we have been without making it so that new players have no idea where to dig the info they need out of this mess.

Seems logical, captain.

I'm sure you saw it, but I started your game Athraz.

Okay I made the new thread; I'll post here one last time when it's finished.

Here is the new thread, it is much nicer.
