You gain some cool spell resist and energy resist, so you basically become a evil spellcasters nightmare

Oh, yeah.

*smiles in a distinctly goblin way; too wide, too many teeth, and decidedly not all good*

Edinoiz wrote:
Well, I'm a goblin so it's almost the same?

No, because the goblins are the most superior of any bipedal race! Only they have seen through the foul works of false gods who coerce people to give up their souls in written form!

I really like playing goblin characters. Had a Goblin Paladin with Oath against Savagry once that was a blast!

Joshua Hurtz wrote:
Jaster Kite, it sounds like you are bringing recruitment to an end. Is that true?

Yeah, but anyone who wants to brew up a quick character can still be taken in for consideration.

Hey, Jaster, can I get an official ruling on how you want the templates to work?

One class level and a +1 template would be acceptable, therefore adding to CR2.

Mmkay. Might take a gander through the templates but probably won't take one.

Does that include the advance template

Because if It is and one take it, it would probably be best to start at lv1 and give it to everyone, it so powerful!

By advanced template, do you by chance mean min-maxer's delight? :)

That's a great way to look at it!

Thanks, but the bonuses it gives you would be a tad strong, I think. I mean, what's a GM who can't threaten his/her players?

No. You are completely right, there's a reason that it's rarely used, with the exception of boss monsters.

I prefer the Mighty Template for boss monsters, personally.

Just looked up what mighty did and it blows advance out of the sea, into a volcano and proceeds to toss at least 8 nukes on it :S

Just looked it up, too. Wow, those are big numbers.
Thanks for giving me the ideas, Azten ;)

Different question time! I've settled on Grenadier alchemist, since someone has to control the battlefield for you beatsticks, why not me?

1. Would I be allowed to trade my Martial weapon proficiency I get from the archetype for Gun Training, but only with the one gun Devic has? If not, that's also cool, I'm also thinking about picking up a scimitar reflavoreed as a Russian cavalry saber otherwise.

2. If I take the Preserve Organs discovery, and the Mummification discovery, can I reflavor them as cybernetic body parts? The bonuses Mummification gives translate pretty well save for the cold resistance.

"Don't worry, guys, it's just one goblin." -Famous Last Words.

Replace goblin and suddenly the entire village in under siege by but a single hungry dog...

Stuff

1. Can't think of a reason not to, but I personally think the Russian saber idea is pretty cool

2. Great idea, go ahead.
Hmm, it's just a Goblin. You heard it guys, you come across any single, usually weak monster without reinforcements, you know what to expect :)

It's only one goblin- if we all flee in different directions, most of us will live!

You don't have to outrun the goblin, you have to outrun the poor bloke with 20ft base spd.

Jaster Kite wrote:
Sweetness

1. I like both myself, but I don't see Devic front lining. I'd need at least two feats and the out-of-character ability to dance decently to make decent use of a sword.

2. Also sweet. Do you think the cold resist should be replaced with something?

Imma finally finish mechanical hub-bub then.

...Ya ne govoryu angliyski...

Side note, I think these two would make great friends. They can be foils to each other!

EDIT: Side note, what counts as Undercommon?

Hmm... good question. Since there is no common to speak of in this setting, perhaps we should call it Underspeak or something.
You two would make good foils...

So took a look at the template list on d20, and I REALLY think I'm gonna go for the Fighter Creature template. You basically get the fighter class as a template, minus the BAB and Base Saves, and +4 Str. My only question is: For those who chose to get templates, do they advance with your level? For instance, if the template gives an ability if you're at, say, 5th level, would you gain it if you had the template before reaching that level?

Also, if you choose a party that all has templates, would we basically start the game at level one?

Just looked at that. That IS good. Also sad. The fighter can be almost wholesale added to a creature for two HD? Although, this could have consequences involving me going back on my "melee me no likey" stance and tagteam with Senator Armstrong in close-range combat. I'd have a great 18 STR.

Edit: You have no idea how hard it is for me to pick between Dwarven and German for languages. Might spend a point in linguistics for it. Do I still get languages for investing in it as a background skill?

Turns out that they have a simple template for each of the core classes, trying to decide on either fighter or barbarian, though I'm leaning towards fighter.

Also, these templates would probably make a good alternative to gestalt if you don't mind limiting it to just the core classes.

all im really getting from all this is we aren't standing valiently against the goblin horde.

If it's the same to you all, I'm going to stick with being able to control time ;)

to be fair time control is badass

Final Question (probably) what would it cost to add a Noob tube Grenade launcher to my pistol? For my bombs? Cause apparently thats a thing.

Edit:

I call hax!

someones clearly compensating (says the guy hefting an eight foot long sword)(Also referring to grenade launcher)

That is even more majestic then a goblin that can smite evil

Also, I looked up every template and found potentially the most powerful, it's called instrument of the gods, litteraly makes you unkillable

that sounds op as all hell

Wish or Miracle it into permanent death. Done.

Yeah, I would probably avoid the third party templates. The official ones are broken enough as it is.

Honestly, if I was playing a different kind of character, and we weren't limited to CR2, I'd probably have gone for Animal Lord.

Why isn't Knowledge Engineering an alchemist class skill?

idk it really should be though

You think that's weird? Inquisitor's don't get Knowledge(Local). They can tell you the target is an elf, but not that that elf is the local mayor and that guy is the one suspected of smuggling.

And when using the Consolidated Skills rule from Unchained, they don't get any Knowledge skills.

that is also weird

They can scare the feces right out of him though. I find it mildly detrimental more than weird.

EDIT: That's also unhelpful. Now the future Viking God of Rock will be our main means of identifying things.

"What's that gray thing?" *points to gray ooze*

It's a commission I got of him a little while back.

I like it! Who'd you get for a commission? I'm a bit interested in getting one for some of my characters myself.
