Clubsen D'veetch |
"Any information will be appreciated, though what you've managed thus far is more than enough..." He now turns towards the others, "Jim, keep yer damn mouth quiet, you tend to get yourself into trouble with it.That said, once you all feel up to it we will be visiting our ship, we need to take a provisions list and damages to the ship. The paperwork is going to kill me...
"Clubsen, permission granted, just don't over do it. I dont want to loose anymore of the crew..."
Takio turns towards the man ready to listen to any info he may or may not give him while trying to stay modest all the while.
(smacks hand to forehead) totally misread this earlier. Never occurred to me that "Jim"=Jimmy. I thought you were talking to Clubsen since he was the only one who'd spoken at the time and giving him a false name as a subterfuge. I didn't even see "permission granted" line.
Sorry for the confusion.
Mr. Nomington |
As a general reminder, if you are unable to post for a long period of time please PLEASE notify me. If you do not post for more than a week without telling me you will be kicked, in game you will be killed off and then eventually replaced. No exceptions. I rather not have this campaign die due to inactive players. I've seen this happen to many times and would like to prevent it.
Have a nice day! :)

These guy were the hardest to piss off in the whole town, but you found the instant eject button... Literally...
The problem is you guys are supposed to be acting like navy soldiers, I completely understand Clubsens view of being a gnome, it's my favorite race to play, but there's a point when you gotta think about your actions and how they may affect the party. That goes for everyone here.
I was literally about to do this same thing to a patron in the bar, but Clubsen beat me to the punch er... throw... You were about to get this history explained to you about Mugs and Tugs and how they run things... But for lack of a better term... That's out the window now...
Takio D. Savaros |
Well needless to say, it's what I was trying to stress. This isn't pathfinder based one piece it's the opposite. All actions taken effect the entire crew on a deadly level, and make it harder for future parties thematically. Each of the people that were or appeared to be the most important to befriend on te island. Have been ticked off and insulted in the worst way so we aren't getting out alive now.
Clubsen D'veetch |
so, I do totally apologize; it was not just a stupid move, but a "chaotic stupid" move. Clubsen could have been satisfied with duping an entire island, but the classic "mess with the salt" routine was just too big a temptation for the player.
Also, I totally accept GM decisions to narrate or fiat certain outcomes due to an NPC's or area's history; however, I question
1) the immediate jump in logic from "here's a prankster in the navy who should probably be disciplined by a superior officer" to "they all must be pirates." If thematically it just makes the most sense that that should be the outcome in this world, than that's fine, but it seems a bit much to me.
2)and, barring an important *preplanned* story advancing piece of a drama, automatically dropping any PC into unconsciousness w/o any chance of altering the outcome
It's your world, and I do accept the outcome of my actions, but #2 especially worries me
Takio D. Savaros |
As i do see where you are coming from its like the classic king scenario. You walk into a throne room attempting to twart the king whom is of like or close CR to the party... but there are 10 guards all lvl 2 paladins. The CR is much higher now but the party should've known what they were walking into.
My character is 15, a lietenant commander in the Navy and due to many poorly chosen outcomes of insult and such has reflected ever more against my bluffs. I'd barely made the checks before.
Going directly to pirates is a bit rash imo, but them killing us isn't if they so chose to. Unfortunately you'd just insulted the people whom run this island and spit on their pride and joy during a stressful time. (when the noble person is coming). It's why my character had warned you all to watch yourselves, I worked my background out with the DM before I'd applied for the campaign and as dark as it is, the world is like that here.
Takio D. Savaros |
If i roll well enough I might be able to make it, but I'd have to work on getting stronger and a new crew at that point to rescue you if it were possible...
What do you all think?
Clubsen D'veetch |
re:takio's post
Oh goodness, neither the outrage nor even the outcome surprise me, just the jumping to conclusions, even if they're correct, and the auto KO
Faltain Panocc |
Yeah I'd have to echo Clubsen's question of the logical leap that happened here. I can definitely accept my own responsibility in breaking down the Navy ruse with my exclamation and apparent lack of gratitude towards the orcs, but I guess my frustration is that I didn't think of a One Piece universe as being so damn touchy. I always think of OP as being about fun, adventure, and friendship rather than every person you meet being a misplaced comment away from summoning a Buster Call. With this lesson in mind, I'll definitely be switching up how I RP so it's all business.
Let's see if we can get out of the current situation without a TPK first though. Takio, I suggest you take the lead and try to renew the bluff by publicly reprimanding us. Maybe even attack me to show yourself as a merciless commander. I'll leave it up to you to make the call.
Clubsen D'veetch |
Just had a thought. I don't think I've ever asked for a mulligan before, but there is another option available. At Mr Nomington's discretion, Clubsen's prank could have been preempted by whatever event would have caused the original patron to have been tossed out the window in his stead as he would not have attempted his prank in that situation. Like I said, I've never asked for something like this before, nor do I want to set a bad precedent, but it is an available option if folks are amenable to it.
Takio D. Savaros |
Unfortunately Faltain, nothing i do will change what Clubsen has done. Their pride and joy is this establishment, and with all that's going against us, we are pretty screwed at the moment. I can pull some shenanigans to attempt it, however the only guaranteed is that I myself could get away...
I'd rather not resort to that if I can.
Having said that, it's not that I disagree entirely with you all, but we weren't thought of fondly upon washing up here because these people don't care for the Navy as it is. The only way I foresee us making it out of here in one piece is Jimmy not only standing down, but everyone. My character is 15 years old, it's unheard of for a Lieutenant Commander to be that young, and I obviously have no control over my men who continuously insult those around them or endanger some... but I digress, there's too much riding against us to guarantee we wont be brutally beaten or murdered. One of us has already died...
Also @Faltain, this isnt One Piece. The fact of it all is that it is themed One Piece which has been integrated into the Pathfinder game itself.

Okay. Just read the original recruitment post based on what you said and I see your point. Guess I was just thinking this was gonna be a bit more light-hearted than it has been. That does help me better understand how I should be role playing this though.
As far as our current circumstances go, guess we'll just have to hope the GM has pity on us and gives us an out. Otherwise it looks like it's time to roll up a new crew. :/
Bonvorio Dellark |
Because you misspelled hungry in your conditions. The gods of grammar and articulation are enraged, and this is their retribution.
I ate the H I was so hungry
Mr. Nomington |
There are things that have happened that the party is unaware of and as such, Mugs and Tugs are acting upon.
Unfortunately, that's just what happens sometimes Clubsen, I was going to have the situation happen when Bonvario had joined you and gotten food for himself. Action... Reaction.
Though I do apologize for any confusion that may have occurred when joining this campaign, it is very much a pathfinder game with one piece elements.
Bonvario I need your initiative roll and ill shoot another quick post in gameplay before combat starts.

okay, once again I've managed to ignore a significant portion of a post, in this case this bit where the damage done due being thrown 20 feet through a window was listed, which, incidentally, negates the last of my complaints... go me!... :/
Clubsen D'veetch |
Takio, i have the strangest feeling that despite everything, having landed right next to me, you may just try to drag me along to safety. Please don't, If I wake up ever again i wanna have a long conversation with these nutcases about the definition of "appropriate response."
Takio D. Savaros |
lol unfotunately, I will be saving your gnome ass. It would be against my character if I had the chance to, seeings as I'm trying to increase the chances of our survival
Takio D. Savaros |
I'm going to assume you jump out the broke window instead of use the door otherwise it's gonna take you till next turn to get out of here if you make it Faltain
Takio D. Savaros |
Sorry, I didn't mean to ruin anything and I agree totally. The action to open a door is ridiculous in times like these lol

I'm the only one with any healing magic, aren't I? oh well, barring pity from the cleric, I guess I'll see you guys in two days of game time.
