"Stay safe Aleria... may our paths cross again in this world or the next."

Raaf steps aside and opens the door for her, bowing his head slightly. His eyes do not meet hers however. Instead they rest upon the wounds he had caused to the now corpse that lays upon the floor.

Lys raises an eyebrow. "An old wizard? Hmm, you happen to enter a house in a village with 3 people who just got back from purifying" the word leaves her mouth and some regret passes her mind knowing who else is in the room. an old wizard's tower. Are you sure this isn't your town?....I-If it isn't I hope you find it."

Lys is also suddenly slightly weirded out by the fact that by pure age she is probably the oldest one in the room.

As she crosses the threshold with her gaze set ahead of her she finalizes Lysanthir'so thoughts the best she could. "this is not what I seen in my vision, thetc town I seen was very different. May our paths meet again." and with that she continued out into the weather, fading before disappearing from visual in only seconds. Where there would have been silence left, as she barely made any sound, instead was filled by the sounds of a muffled storm.

The mayor, for the most part, just stands there silently thinking to himself.

Avdol:
"there's no telling what might happen but we could chance leaving tonight if you'd rather?..." Zul says as he casually sits in, before reclining in a pue.

Elrosk claps his hands together wildly, his bored demeanor clearly changed to something more excited.

"...either way, might want to say your goodbyes beforehand, there's no telling what'she going to attempt to kill us next." he then finishes.

Breaking the silence Lys sits in a nearby chair crossing one leg over the other and resting her head on her hand, in an inquisitive manner. "So Raafe what do you when you aren't dragging corpses home?"

Avdol:
"Alright then, shall we? No sense staying I suppose." he says as he interacted briefly with Saldrazar. After which he would reach into his bag and pull out a longer, than wide or tall, wooden box made of lacquered mahogany. Out of it he procured a wand of equal make and flipped it about whimsically. On your word he, in the blink of an eye, would use his teleportation ability to bring himself into the aisle, now ahead of you, but standing once more. As he began using it, no words spoken, just a casual flick and a doorway opened up created from arcane energies.

"After you good sir..."

Akari's gaze shifts among the group, to bounce between Gabriel and the Mayor. "We should all get a bit of rest. I'll help with the watch tonight in case there is still trouble lurking. But I would also like to return to the tower. There was more going on there than we saw with our eyes alone."

"If you could, Mayor, please send my best to Amber when she has had time to recover. I know how wrenching it can be to lose one whom you love. If she needs anything while I am here, she has but to ask."

Raaf's gaze would meet Lys's. "To be fair, Aleria dragged the body back. I would have just left it. Unnecessary weight and all. But to answer your question, I'm a wandering ranger of sorts. "The dead man was there. He fought against us, and participated, we suspect, in stealing the wizard's orb from the town. Perhaps he lycanthropy or whatever turned him into a beast is related to that. A curse on those who handle the orb for nefarious purposes." Lys sits back in the chair and thinks.

haha that's perfectly fine. We all have those moments. (Me especially)

Raaf spits out the rest of his chew out the door. Grabbing some of the food provided; cheese, bread, meat and water or ale, whichever is provided and will sit quietly facing the doorway with his back to a wall.

The hours drag on as you each eat your fill and perhaps chit chat awaiting what could possibly happen. The already darkened stormy sky outide only gets darker as day becomes evening. Even in the later hours the rain continues falling, though lessneed in strength. A few of the voices can be heard outside in the town surprisingly. Though muffled from the remaining rain and distance you gather there is some commotion afoot.

With a sharp look of fear in his eye, Winston all but winces as he looks towards the door in a panic, "... i-it could be just an argument... right?" he says with a fake forced smile in the best jetting manner he knew. "surely there's nothing to worry about." He moves now to the door to open it and peer outside in the direction of the racket. By now lights are visible and giving the street a somewhat low-lit glow from through the windows of homes. Blurred vision from the weather keeps you from making out exact details should you look but also enough to know they are moving like any average human would rather than the beast you fought.

Akari rests as much as he is able. And when the commotion outside breaks out he will follow the others outside as he shrugged off the discomfort of his wounds, peering out into the rainy dark as best he could to determine exactly what was going on and where.

Contrary to the icy cold rain from earlier, now you note that it has become seemingly warmer. In making your way towards the townsfolk their anxiety in jumbled in a confusing multitude of emotions and murmurs, yells and general chatter. When you close in more the hazy vision you had wears thin now piercing through the mixture of elements in the air. At the center of the road you each stand readied for the worst, the mayor having went with you appears panicked and just short of breath. A snarl can be heard beyond the first line of villagers and a short-lived screams panic set in with the crowd that has since gathered. You watch in horror as the transformations of man to beast began, yet this time different than you'd imagined. Thick hairs press outward among their fore-arms, chests and legs. It is stringy and oily in appearance uncomplimentary to their animalistic build. Unlike anything you'd encountered thus far, they seemed intelligent in some way unexpectedly.

In the moment before you'd came to terms with what was necessary they rear their heads backwards in unison. Half howl, and half scream of agony weep from their mouths. As if erasing the features they'd just gained, the rain ran down their face, contouring in impossible ways that removed the beasts from them. Slowly, their eyes became more aware, relaxing immediately from a narrowed ferocity. Their growls acutely revert to a bass-y grumble of pain. The claws that had just began forming seemingly melded with their original forms and what you just watched basically happened in reverse.

A silence took hold in the area giving the calm before the emotional recapture of the townspeople. Some broke the silence by falling to their knees before beginning prayers to their gods. Others gripped their families tight crying speechless quiet tears muted out by the returning ambiance of the rain noticeable once more.

The mayor stands in shock at the sights before him unveil themselves one by one. Having reahed a soft spot in his mental barrier he lowers his guard just enough for a single tear to caress his otherwise normally "jolly" face.

His lips mouth "Thank you" as words appear to have left him for the moment.

He surveys the line of men, watching the transformation progress, then again as it receded. The scene that followed brought a cheerful grin to his face as he was truly happy for the reunited families.

Gabriel was heart-broken. He had gotten to like these humble people... and they were going to fight for their lives against their former, now-bestial, selves.

And then it happened. A truly miracle, like the ones told in the legends.

He lost the grip on his sword, letting it fall to the ground still shedding the light of the sun.

Gabriel removed his helmet, allowing the raining to wash off his tears and touching his holy symbol he simply muttered "Praise be the Sun... Praise be the Lord..."

Regaining his composture, the warrior of the light nodded to the mayor before glanzing over the mass of people looking for the Priest.

Akari looks on with a mixture of longing and remembered sadness as a cold loneliness overtook him. A chill crept through his limbs despite the warmth of the night and he shivered, curling his arms about his chest and his head eventually slumps to stare at the ground, seeing some memory in the falling rain that only chilled him further.

Raaf will take up the rear behind the rest.

"There is a slight chance the church would have the supplies I need." Raaf thinks to himself as he walks along the muddy ground.

Gabriel:
As you kneel there, your knees dig slightly into the usually hard ground. The constant downpour has left the ground soft in its wake. With a subtle (squishy sloshy-like), noise you'do fall to your knees. The rain falls down and momentarily you can see each drop as it passes you before it blends in with the surroundings once more. A child completely stone faced approaches you without a word and reaches a hand out to your forehead. His hair is brown and  Instinctual lyrics you close your eyes, feeling the sensation if rain beads hitting your face and leaving as soon as they'd came. Why he did it was beyond understanding but as his fingertips made contact with your skin you gain a feeling of gratitude. Your eyes open and the little boy is walking away, merging with the crowd once more.

Raafe and Lysanthir:
rolled perception for youYou notice as you begin following Gabriel and Akari make their ways through the churchyard towards the church, you spot at nearly the same time an oddity. A few rows back there sits a bench with a single blue rose resting upon it.

Making your way towards the church the townspeople thank you each as you pass. Many are sobbing while it is unknowledgable whether it is tears or rain that make up most of the moisture on their faces. The church felt farther than normal from what you all remembered. Vision being cut via the rain made judgement of distance harder. Upon entering the courtyard Gabe notices first, but one of the two large wooden church doors rests slightly ajar. With every gust of wind it swings slightly. The newly replaced orb gives off a light that brightens the front courtyard twenty feet, lowlight out another ten. On passing the now fixed statue, you begin to experience the safety you'd feel when someone is watching your back. The door creaks echo throughout the insides of the church. Hollow cracking sounds cascading in every direction are all which greet you. Candles are still lit among the isles of pews giving better lighting with a couple, symmetrically placed, stands with ascending steps lined with more candles. The glow they left was warm in nature, interrupted only by the lacking presence it once held. Occasional rogue shadows would briefly jump in and out of focud ss the flames danced on the breezes. The whistling of the wind proved just how empty this once majestic holy ground really was in the moment, but also bringing to you attention the sound of parchment being contorted. Ahead of you, as you make your way to the alter you see an open book of Iomedae. At its center a sealed envelope with a weight holding it there.

Whomever chooses to open and read the note:
In well practiced writing akin to that of a scholar, the note reads, "Dearest friends,

The time has come for us to part and while I did enjoy your company, I must attend to my own journey once more. Avdol decided to join my personal crusade for the time being and I hope our paths cross once more soon enough.

I knew you'd find this Gabriel,...

Zul Feron"

Despite the empty and eeriness of the church at this time, it gave a safe shelter from the storm regardless. Multiple assumed to be  rooms lead out of sight due to closed doors placed symmetrically about towards the back of the church to either side.

Akari enters the church behind Gabriel. Initially hesitant at first, but he soon found his eyes roaming about, taking it all in to finally rest on the altar. He walked forward with a slow, steady pace. His right hand reaching out as if of its own accord to lightly graze his fingers over the top of the pews as he closed the distance to the altar. They glided from there to return to his side as he pulled away from them and ascended the stairs and looked down on the tome.

"Dearest friends.."

He says after picking up the letter, taking respectful care not to disturb the book underneath. He takes a moment to read the script-like writing.

Then in a low near monotone, he says "My name isn't Gabriel."

After a pause, he turns to look to Gabriel with the note in hand, goes to him if needed and offers it to him without a word.

After standing up, the warrior walks to Akari and takes the note, nodding as he reads it "May the Sun always be with you, Zul..."

Finally, Gabe makes himself comfortable in the seats, and turns to the rest with a smile "I am glad we helped these people... and I do believe we deserve a little break. Standing up and walking to her slowly, the warrior extends his hands "The risk... it could be too dire... but it could be worth it. Lys, what else do you know about the potion? I mean... its onset and duration. I won't lie, I'm dying to down it right here right now, but I'd rather not make you all carry my body mid-travel."

A wide smile brightens Akari's face as Lys spoke. "So you need someone a bit reckless, even possibly foolish to take the potion while you observe."

A brief moment passes with Akari seemingly in deep thought before he stands and approaches Lys with a cheerful grin, though his eyes held something slightly more serious and holds out his hand. "I'll be your test subject, then. There is one thing I could ask of a deity."

"Okay, Wow! Just to be perfectly clear I have no idea what this will connect you to. It won't be your favored God. It's the god of the potion maker, and as I recovered it from the tower that could mean the wizards god, or the god of any of the men we fought. I don't think anyone would want to talk with what Geof, or his boss worship. Also based on the drugs you'll be there for about four hours." She puts the potion down on a nearby surface, not actually wanting to be the one to put it in someones hands.

Akari's eyes tracked the potion as it was set down and he steeled himself. Then he unclasped his sword from his back and turned to hand it to Gabriel, sheath and all.

"Should the worst come to pass, please take the utmost care of this for me. It would mean a great deal."

He then would take up the potion and examine the vial for a moment. "I should probably sit down for this."

He does so, looking to each of his companions briefly, settling on Lys. "In case anything goes wrong, I intend to ask for the insight I need to find my sister, whom I know nothing about but that she is younger than I am. My master told me to find her with his dying breath."

Then without hesitation, He threw back his head and poured the potion down his throat, leaving leaving as Lys requested a few drops in the bottom.

Akari sits among one of the many pews, resting his sword against another. Kicking his feet up so as to sit length-ways he pops the stopper off of the bottle ingesting all but a few drops as per requested by Lysanthir. Reclining into a laying position he seemingly waits as if trying to fall asleep.

Storm outside

Everyone but Akari:
Nothing happens, at least not right off. Akari simply lays there undisturbed. a few silent minutes pass and you note a twitch of his body like that of a smirk. His leg begins to twitch when you notice the sound of him breathing is no longer heard. The convulsions then grow more aggressive as his entire body begins to jerk each way. His face goes pale as his body begins flailing. He arches his back in such a way that makes him seem inhuman and his eyelids open revealing only the whites of his eyes. Struggling as if he were trying to grasp any amount of air. Haunting gasping sounds fill the church as you watch your comrade dying. His nails sink into the pews from both his desperate grip on life. Blood begins to course out of his self inflicted wounds to which he doesn't respond. Akari's face begins to go pale, and contorted as he was, his struggle is short lived as his body falls limp. No breath for air, nor sign of life remains within him,... Akari, as far as you can tell, has died...

Akari:
As you recline to rest, it is a situation you have experienced before. Consciously you are awake and can hear everything, but you also feel on the brink of the dream world. Finally you sigh to yourself and sit up, opening your eyes in a manner as if about to conclude that the concoction was a dud. To the contrary, as you open your eyes you see the others acting strangely. They appear locked in time, un-moving. Everything is as it was when you closed your eyes, except for the uninterruptible silence instead of the storm. The candles that lit the church no longer flickered, and the wind no longer billowed. Grabbing your sword you stand, for a moment taking in what was happening and thus leaving you at a loss. For the first time in weeks, if not months, you felt truly alone. A not so familiar female voice echoes aloud from all around you, yet gentle,... graceful. It speaks in an ancient tongue you do not recognize and thus, are more drawn to it. Seeing nothing in sight you remember there is a time limit, and there is no time to waste, so you head towards the doors of the church. Upon opening them you see the outside storm overhead, but raindrops sit in the air undisturbed and un-moving as well. The glow from anything in the town is no longer there as if the darkness had swallowed everything up beyond the gates of the church.

One step, then two,... three... cautiously you make your way down the steps of the church looking about as an eerie echo responds to each footstep. The sound of church bells sound in chorus with creaking wood as the heavy church doors shut behind you. In a jolt you turn and are no longer at the church. Somehow you transitioned to another location so smoothly that having been at the church felt like a memory. You are now outside in the brightness of a warm summer's day in the clearing of some woods. The location is unknown to you, even the smell in the air... you notice in that moment that the surrounding atmosphere has returned. Turning about like an endless loop an exit appears in the form of a heavily beaten trail leading in front of you that wasn't there before, and begin walking. The trail feels endless and for a time you think nothing of it...

"Ti zitas'" a male voice whispers from all directions causing you to look anxiously. No one is there when you look, only the clearing you'd just left... The voice stimulates the hairs on the back of your neck to stand on end. The air around you stills itself. Instinctively you walk with it rather than against it.

"I'm looking for my-..." You start, but at interrupted by the voice once more.

"Sister?... I know..." the woman replies whimsically. At which point randomwhispers creep up, starting from a low tone and increasing with each passing second. The ambiance increases until your equilibrium begins struggling and you fall to your knees bringing your hands to your ears instinctively,... silence. The treasured sword you've protected for so long is no longer in your possession. Unable to raise your head you hear a snap of someone's fingers softly 'click' in-front of you. A vision enters your mind. You've returned to what was your home, walking past all of the familiar faces you'd came to know and care for. They smile and stare at you but none say a word. Thump! your heart beats hard in your chest, feeling like sludge pumping through your veins. Seemingly a dream among dreams, as infinite as a mirror reflecting into itself. Endless hallways of memories haunt your mind to the beat of your heart and overwhelming increase in anxiety. "The dead seek you,...", You can see their faces, they are alive, but are they? A sense of hope dangles before you as your walk becomes a sprint and then a jog, before ascending into an all out burst of speed as you run towards your master's dojo. The door slides open and you watch against your will as your master dies before you. Try as you might your legs no longer move your forward. Like a painting the scene before you burns away, leaving you unharmed. Your sight pans outward revealing a frame, and then you realize you're looking into a sizable mirror and are standing in an entryway of what appears to be a temple of sorts. Quivering slightly, not out of fear now, but your body is noticeably cold, you hand reaches up toward the mirror. Slow and anxious your hand is all but steady as it makes contact with the mirror. The sensation of cold glass sends shivers up your spine before your hand seeps inward to the mirror. Another voice, this time one that speaks to you on equal mortality, (seemingly), gains your attention from the mirror.

"Come, the lady of fates awaits...."
You ascend a stairway about forty or so feet, at which you come across a single large doorway of deep deep dark oak wood with a single ring in the center. Knocking on it twice the door opens with a groan it shifts open. Inside leads to a central chamber that appears at least a hundred feet high, a large steepled dome of what appears to be made of stained glass. In awe you stand there for a moment taking in all the colors, like that of a perpetual kaleidoscope as the light peaks through. You can see across the room there are three figures outfitted in dark robes with veils covering their heads. Their features are masked as they stand there un-moving in the center of the room surrounding what lies, from what you can see, is a large round pool of some crimson red liquid. You mentally question their reasoning for being here but the thought is interrupted with it's answer, "You came to speak with the lady..." and the center-most figure gestures you toward the pool to which you walk towards. Walking into the pool you notice first as you make it to your ankles, your knees, that it is a thick viscous. Definitively you are stepping into a pool of blood. It is ice cold and as you descend deeper into the pool it seeps deeper into your clothing. Making your way inward you find it is deeper than it first appeared. Reaching your waist, then your chest, your neck until inevitably your nose as you continue making your way in but still not even halfway across. The liquid blots out your sight as you fully submerge yourself into the pool. Darkness consumes everything... nothing... nothing... nothing... you begin panicking as your lungs begin to seize for lack of oxygen. Instinctively your body begins to swim but you can't seem to rise. The cold liquid seeps in through your nose and mouth as you struggle to breathe. At that point the cold and piercing pain that had entered your lungs become warm... In all the darkness from where you cannot see, you are calm, as it is once more easy to breath, like air. In-front of you, you see a bead of white light spark and begin to grow eventually becoming a porcelain face with two empty, dark sockets. A hand reaches out, and lifts you like a platform. What you thought was a few feet of liquid now seems to be an endless space. Looking below you can see the palm of the being holding you, beyond that, an infinite scene of threads. The face closes the gap between you and in your head from all sides you hear a comforting, welcoming voice,... her voice...

"The answers you seek are before you. You have only but to reach out and grab them."

The feeling of cold steel pierces your back entering and exiting through your chest...Her hand is no longer supporting you but instead a small hand grasps your shoulder. You feel life leaving you and a more mortal-like voice whispers in your ear, "You test your path constantly, without knowing. Preparing unknowingly, for such your entire life..."

Silence,... Then sensation of falling as you loose consciousness. Waking with a start your body is stiff and hard to bend. Your breathing is heavy and equal to that of someone whom woke from a horrid nightmare. Your body is ice-cold yet everything is as it was with the exception of how your comrades are acting or positioned. The storm outside ensues.

4 Hours Later
------------------------------------------------------------------

Akari's chest jerks upward as he sits up gasping for long needed air. His hand is clutching his chest and his body, ice-cold to the touch and his opposite fist clenched. Like that of a rescued drowning victim he begins coughing up liquid at first expected to be saliva, but instead is a thick crimson viscous as he spits it out on the floor absentmindedly.[/spoiler]

"The storm outside never seemed so welcoming"

"He's dead..."

When Akari jolts awake:
Raaf would grab his crossbow and train it on Akari. "Are you actually alive or are you... undead?! The blood from your mouth gives me doubts!"

Bluntly Lys replies "I'm sure."

For the next four hours Lys just stares at his body. Occasionally glancing around for any indication for how much time has passed.
