Speaking of resuming, not that I'm in any real hurry, is there going to be an appropriate scene for Miagnik to join the group in the near future. Somehow I think that a Goblin showing up unannounced at a tavern is liable to be killed on sight.
Miagnik |
Ah yes, I had forgotten about the campaign info. Old prejudices about Goblins are still fresh in my head.

How are we doing the cuts of wealth to the NPC's, what is the their share?
Doesn't matter to me...we can count the total number of people there (PCs and NPCs) then divide by that amount.
How many NPC's did we have by the way?

One suggestion here, Mazrim could accept the Dwarfs offer to sit down and talk with him. Since you were planning on buying her freedom with your money anyway and slavery is legal, you could attempt to buy her contract so that she works for you instead. You seem civil enough, he gets his money, you get her, all of you get to walk away and although probably unwanted, future dealings with this guy are possible.
Admittedly you may have to sweeten the deal and give some more coin for this to work, but it is a better suggestion than starting a brawl that could turn deadly.

Couldn't help but notice, congratulations on your 1 year anniversary of playing this game.

Thank you, and I apologize for not getting you into the action quicker. I saw this opportunity to flesh out Atharessa's character, and really didn't see how far it would go. Very interesting what has happened, but as soon as a decision is made, about her "Loan", you should all be on your way to the Dungeon.
Hallister Silverspike |
I'm glad it helped. This has been a blast.
As for the situation at hand, there's no way in hell we're going to let the little sister get sold into slavery because of a loan Altheressa couldn't pay on time because she'd been assigned to help us.
Since parents can sell their children into slavery, what would happen if Altheressa's mother simply sold her daughters to, say, Moralane? Moralane could then set them up "serving" her, Altheressa by continuing on with us, and the sister by going to school in preparation of joining Moralane's House as a servant to the family (or her directly).
Then if Douchebeard wants to contest ownership, he can either follow us into a dungeon, or go knock on a Lord's door.
Feasible?
Mazrim Deacon |
Mazrim's lawfulness is the only thing keeping him from going all Vlad on this guy.
I'd be happy if Moralane could do something like that since I doubt we have enough to buy out her contract.
Sorry this is holding you out of the game Miagnik, it started small and just kinda exploded.

Surprise trip came up last night, will be busy for most of today and Sunday driving to and from. Should be okay for Saturday with internet however.

Bumping this question.

Moralane is of house Vessocho remember, and Atharessa is of house Guisse. So buying the step sister, and not the loan would have to be approved by Sir Guides. Atharessa already could be in worlds of trouble for signing this loan (assuming he doesn't know about it). You only option is to pay what is due, or buy the loan.
Hallister Silverspike |
Well there we go. We just have to get Sir Guisse to say he didn't approve the loan and it becomes null and void. She gives back the original amount borrowed, and done.
He might be mad at her, but it could easily be spun into "the evil loan shark talked me into it, and I needed to help my family" or something.

All of the party members have Darkvision. Now I always make a big deal out of trying to define just how far and how well a character can see in a dungeon, and I’m a little confused about how this is supposed to work. Obviously you do not see everything perfectly out to sixty feet and then, bam, nothing, so, here is my suggestion. You see very clearly out to forty feet, and then it is a bit shadowy to sixty feet, and then your darkvision fails. Your Party is at the entrance to the dungeon. It is a twenty foot wide passage heading straight into the mountain. Once you define a Marching order, declare what weapons you are carrying in hand, and state your intention to enter I will begin tracking turns, I am fond of ten minute turns, and describing what you find. Someone in the party can be making a map, and if you do not have a map maker, there will be a potential for you to lose your way once you are inside. Your party can move sixty feet in ten minutes, and this will include carefully watching for traps (I will apply a standard “take 20” to the person in the lead of the group, with modifiers for any chance to spot a trap before you blunder into it, and making necessary details on the map as you go. Are you ready to enter the Dungeon?
Miagnik |
You can take the lead on this one. Miagnik will take 3rd position. Also, while he doesn't make maps, he does have chalk to mark on walls.
Hallister Silverspike |
Maz, I'll take lead. With your Reach weapon, you're better in the rear where you can adjust forwards to attack past the rest of us.
Tentative formation:
.
...........Rownig
.
.
.
.
..........Hallister
........Moralane
Windel........ Miaqnik
.......Atharesssa
.
...........Mazrim
THis assumes a 10' wide hall. In 5' halls, Windle will be 3rd and Miagnik 4th.
Does anyone see any changes that need made?
Rownig Fleetfoot |
FYI: I'll be traveling tomorrow to visit a sick family member. DMPC if necessary. I will try to log in in the evening but who knows what will happen.
Rownig will scout
Serach traps, disable traps
Use his TWF feat with both handaxes in melee.
Ranged he will use his shortbow.
His attack rolls are listed in his profile. Just cut and paste.
Miagnik |
FYI, I will be going out of town this weekend. Internet will likely be sparse at best though I should still be able to post.

I have a question for Baldwin. I've been taking time to figure out how to use MapTools, and I'm almost ready to start using it, but I've noticed that you drop the maps into a "dropBox" account (and I think that is something you need to pay for), so what I am wondering is if you know of another place where maps can be saved too that is convenient and accessible, easy to link to, that will work like dropbox?
baldwin the merciful |
dropbox is free (you can upgrade for a larger box but it's not necessary) I probably have 1000 maps or so, posted to my games and I'm not even close to having to have to pay for more capacity. I'm not computer techie but it's so easy to use.
What dropbox does is provide folks a url link location to access the map from. You export the map to your desktop (that is what I do anyway) then drag it into the public folder in your dropbox acct. Right click on the map then and copy the public link to the map.
If you do something like taking a screenshot of the map, you run the risk of copying your browser info and other sensation information.
There is a site: photobucket I believe, which is a similar concept.
Useful tip: when maptools is open go to the "Help" tab click on it and then click on the "documentation", that will bring up maptools info page. move over to and click on "community" scroll down to LINKs Complementary and find the Dunjinni link and click on it. It brings you to the Dunjinni site (or you can google the name) there is a ton of free user creation maps there. I use them a lot. No need to join or sign up for anything over there.
