Broccan
Do you want to roll for the confusion effect?
d% Behavior
01-25 Acts normally
26-50 Does nothing but babble incoherently
51-75 Deals 1d8 points of damage + Str modifier to self with item in hand
76-100 Attacks nearest creature (for this purpose, a familiar counts as part of the subject's self)
Canvy Mandrain |
Will save 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7, if he fails confusion effect 1d100 ⇒ 66
Ref save 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
As Canvy deftly skips to the side of the fire that flashes from the cultists, he fails to control his weapon, its large stubby metal strikes him for 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 damage. He falls to the ground, injured and bleeding.
Edrukk Thorvirgun |
Will Save: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26 +2 if it is a spell-like ability
Reflex Save: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 3 + 2 = 18 including bonus vs. spells
"Foul beast! Ensnarin' me friends' minds!"
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
If the space is that tight, we should be getting AoO against the spellcasters, should we not?
Erine Wintyle |
Will Save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Too close for comfort! Also, didn't I counter that burning hands?
Erine covers her ears as the gibbering drones on. "Aaargh!"
Hands shaking, she points a finger at the beast and lets off a blast of arcane energy.
Ranged Touch (enemy has Soft Cover): 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (5) - 1 = 4
The shot predictably goes way off-target.
Tried a dispel magic, just in the hopes that it was being magically controlled. Missed, soyeah.
KenderKin |
That was the other guy, but Broccan killed him the magic missle guy changed to burning hands, but there was alot going on!
Pretty much everyone misses, except Canvy who managed to knock himself out of the fight.
The cultist runs for the back of the room. The gibbering mouther has to decide to either spit or engulf someone whole.
1d2 ⇒ 1
1=Spit
2=Swallow whole
Spit target 1d5 ⇒ 4
1=Canvy
2=Broccan
3=Edrukk
4=Erine
5=minniwick
Ranged touch attack!
@Erine
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
If hit Dc 18 fortitude save!
failure
You are up!
KenderKin |
No MW, the flaming cultist is running away...he forgot to 'stop drop and roll'.....I was not counting you as "pretty much everyone" you were a hit, not a miss. I though it was pretty awesome that a guy on fire cast burning hands though.
FYI Heal check DC 14
Broccan Dunchad |
Don't know if I need to roll another Will Save. If so...
Will Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Confusion: 1d100 ⇒ 89
Looks like I'm attacking a random opponent! Take the helm, KK!
Broccan Dunchad |
Oh, OK.
Broccan drops his sword, draws his hammer, and brings it down on the Beastie.
Stop, Hammer Time!: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Erine Wintyle |

Spitting and gibbering are free actions, actually, so it can do All Of The Above. ;P
Fort save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19Oh, and I don't think Broccan's made his save yet, and the "24 hours" rule only technically comes into play if he makes a save. So...you're welcome, Broccan?
Minniwick Zookwinkle |
Oh, and I forgot to mention my action. Magic Missile!
Erine fires several bolts of arcane energy at the slimy horror.
[dice=Damage]2d4+2
Awww yeah!
What did you do with your third missle? One at 1st, 3rd and 5th.
Edrukk Thorvirgun |
Whoops for me, too - I didn't register that he was unconscious, I thought he was down because he was tripped or something.
Canvy Mandrain |
Canvy
** spoiler omitted **
I forgot all about that.....unfortunately spontaneous healing isn't one of his abilities.
With the gibbering sounds coming from the creature, Canvy asks for healing "Help me before I fall, death is close to me!" he then speaks orcish words and a red firey aura surrounds him.
Casts rage on himself, so gets +8 HPs from the rage....
KenderKin |
As Canvy becomes a raging alcoholic....The gibbering mouther actually retreats 5 ft step away from you, the ground where the mouther once was looks like some type of muddy gooey mess Difficult terrain
The cultist who was running away drops into a flaming heap on the floor, his outstreched hand reaching toward the door, but he lies still and burns.....
And it spits at Broccan!
Spit Ranged touch attack!
@Broccan 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20 If hit Dc 18 fortitude save!
failure
You are up!
Broccan Dunchad |
Fort Save: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28
Broccan feels the patter of the vile creature's slimy spit splattering against the side of his helmet.
Hammer hit: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
KenderKin |
The creature spits at Broccan, but all his experiences as a miner, protecting his eyes from debris and his experiences boxing have taught him that opponents sometimes spit when they can't win fair and square, and to tuck his chin.....
The nasty slime coats his helmet though.....
The spit distraction did have an effect though on Broccan's notice of the ground, as he stepped forward to hit the blob, he had to stop short due to the muddy chunky soup ground beneath his feet.
Edrukk Thorvirgun |
Drink this! Hand Canvy a Infusion of CLW 1d8+5
Nodding, "Tha's a good lad, better now?"
Stepping alongside the creature's trail and not wanting to step into whatever it left behind, Edrukk brings the mace down with both hands.
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
KenderKin |
The gibbering mouther has fallen silent, the incesant gibbering has stopped, though the feeling of wrongness continues in this lair of mad occult sorcerers.
The woman lying curled on the floor appears to be a knight of some sort, a hint of recognition crosses Minniwicks face as he sees her, she is Alein one of Cauldron's few paladins.
Heal check DC 15
KenderKin |
Once outside the woman slowly regains her senses and says ”Thank you! I am Alein, Champion of the Temple. I was captured by these scoundrels and brought here for some purpose I know not.”
Roleplay for those interested, healing opportunity, and then back into the bookstore (quick as a flash)......If you know all you need to know about the woman you can leave her with Sanstree on the street and just tell me in the OOC thread that your ready to go back in
Edrukk Thorvirgun |
Seeing that Erine is checking on the woman, the dwarven cleric looks at the fighter and says, "Ah'm thinkin' we smack 't good 'nother time, 'n case 't be fakin'."
With that, he raises his mace and hits the creature with everything he's got.
Coup d'grace?: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 1) + 6 = 9
Outside
"'ow 're ye farin'? Canvy, ye look a bit rough. Need ye some o' Gorum's blessin'?"
Who else needs healing? Is this time for a Channel or a Cure?
Canvy Mandrain |
After taking the potion, Canvy looks around for something else to take his anger out on. "Comm'n then ye weak kneed heathen, come out and fight like men. Death awaits one of us. Come fight steel on steel like real men." He waits a brief moment, before issuing a challenge to Broccan and Edrukk, he throws his falchion on the floor and raises his fists. "Well, shall we spar, a little light fisticuffs..." a gleam of violence in his eyes.
......
After what seems like forever, but is actually about 30 seconds, Canvy suddenly stops being aggressive and violent to every one. He blinks his eyes, rubs them with his hands and looks around at everyone... "Umm...everyone OK?" he asks sheepishly.
......
"To be honest Edrukk, I seem quite weakened and sore from the wounds I have taken, your healing is what I need, however it comes..."
Edrukk Thorvirgun |
Edrukk casts Cures on Canvy, Minniwick, and Broccan.
Canvy: 3d8 + 6 ⇒ (5, 6, 4) + 6 = 21
Canvy: 3d8 + 6 ⇒ (7, 7, 5) + 6 = 25
Minniwick: 3d8 + 6 ⇒ (8, 7, 6) + 6 = 27
Broccan: 2d8 + 6 ⇒ (3, 4) + 6 = 13
Edrukk Thorvirgun |
Well, I need a Will save DC 11 after Minniwick's cure or be fatigued.
Will DC 11: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
And Will save DC 14 after Broccan's or be fatigued.
Will DC 11: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
KenderKin |
The tatoos were magical in some way, though no one is familiart with tattoos as magical items, other than Sanstree show only says "I have read o it, tis not common."
The remainder of the basement is clear, you find a cleaning closest in the door beyond where the cultist was running, it seems maybe he was running for the large bucket of water there.....
The main floor is likewise un-interesting, as you look towards the upstairs though.....
The stairs leading up to and the entire top floor is shrouded in a dense fog of some sort.....
....detect magic?
Spellcraft DC 12
Edrukk Thorvirgun |
"N', sorry."
The dwarf doesn't care, but the player is intrigued about the importance of the bucket of water in the cleaning closet...
