Commissioning Art of Characters?

Hey Guys,

I've heard people around here talk about buying art of their characters, and it seems like something I'm interested in doing. However, I can't seem to find any artists anywhere who offer commissions for characters because I don't know where I should look to find them.

Does anybody know of any high-quality, affordable artists who can draw commissions of peoples characters? How about any sites/groups where I can find them?

You can post in the RPG and Fantasy Writers and Artists facebook group or in the RPG Artists gplus group.

The Pathfinder Art and Wayfinder Arts groups on devianart are also good places to look. I don't do a lot of commissions but I know a lot of artists do. I'm sure you can find someone with a style you like that is open for the work. Making a partial payment on approval of roughs is pretty standard, so be aware of that.

I'm considering taking commissions, but don't know how to get started on it.

Well first I guess would be it set up a Paypal or similar account so that you can recieve monies if you haven't already.
