@everyone
"I admit tha answers to questions leads tah more questions, but I ken answer a ting now an again."
@Broccan an Edrukk
"Wha happened to tha guy yah was tellin me bout, tha came by yer rooms, a young man wit a crimson an green cloak, carryin a lute yah said?"
Sanstree |
The waitress looks back at Sanstree...
@Waitress
"I shall have a loaf of beer bread and a platter o pulled pork then. Broccan an Edrukk ken figure out wha the err having."
@Alkaid
"Yes yes tha world is vast an full o wonders. Only a few though figure out much o tha tings."
@Broccan and Edrukk
"Yah two err not plannin tah drink yer dinner....again?"
as he eyes the empty tankards in front of them both....
Alkaid Ingrid Bridgette Aiba |
Aklaid replies to Sanstree
"I think that is truer than you think,
for the current knowledge we have is like a few grains of sand on a beach."
Alkaid says to all
"I've heard of priests who when they fast for a month or two, only drinking drink beer and ale.
Further more they gained weight during their fasts."
Sanstree |
Sanstree begins eating as soon as the platter hits in front of him.
@waitress
"Extra sauce and bread as well."
@table-mates
"So tha fast is broken at long last. Seems tha trip tah Ossington is in our near future. I guess soon as tha bard shows up we ken leave, unless we gots more business in tha town?"
Sanstree |
"Looks like tha bartenders got a hands off sign, but only one in ten o his patrons ken even read!"
"Broc an Edrukk says a man wit a colorful cloak came by thar rooms last night offerin tah go with us, unless these drunks been seein whas not thar....again?"
Hermes Depuis |
There is a slight commotion in the revelers in the tavern, as a tall and well dressed man enters. He strides confidently through the crowd, his red beret with a fine long black eagles feather in one hand, waving to one and all. With one quick movement, he jumps nonchalantly onto the bar, replacing the hat on his curly black hair. As if by magic a squeeze box suddenly appears in his hands, as a broad smile grows under his fine waxed black mustache. A rich baritone voice erupts as he starts to sing and the instrument begins to send beautiful resonant tones in a flurry of warm encompassing music.
"My Love she wore a deep red rose, whose thorns did prick my heart ..." and the crowd listened in raptures.
Perform(keyed instrument) 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (15) + 17 = 32
With the dying sounds of the accordion, lingering in the air, the voice speaks clearly "My friends, let me return after a refreshment, and I shall entertain you again." He scans the room, nods in Edrukk's and Broccan's direction, before jumping gracefully down and making his way towards you. With an introductory wave of his hand he introduces himself, in his silky sweet musical voice. "Evening gentlemen, let me introduce myself, should you not know me. I am Hermes Dupuis, until recently court entertainer to our lord the Baron. Unfortunately, since your renowned rescue of his Lordship from the evil enchantment that held him, I realise there are tales to be told and heroic deeds to be recorded for all the world to hear. And Edruuk, Broccan and your companions, I offer my services to tell your tale. Though I thought you had some others, from what the gossip tells, a strange fighter who's magic came from his mother and a gnome with a pet goat. Do you travel with them still? What say you to my offer?" he smiles at you.
To the young lady the entertainer blows a kiss and says "a wine my dear, to wet my lips if you please?" tossing a coin, in a high spinning arc in the air, as payment.
Sorry its taken a bit longer than normal, but life has gotten hectic, especially work.
Alkaid Ingrid Bridgette Aiba |
Alkaid thinks about the problems in the tavern as she eats
"Looks like the tarven's don't touch policy needs some more teeth,
and what to do with the gropping drunk?"
Alkaid asks Noya as she points to the drunk she threw
"That perv over there, I am wondering how much he has harassed the other barmaids and ladies that enter this establishment?
And depending on the answer I could have a intersting way of determining if he's punished."
After asking Alkaid stops pointing at the drunk
"And I'll also think of a way of given your place's No touch policy some teeth and a gift to enforce it."
Edrukk Thorvirgun |
"Yon fool put 'is 'ands 'n th' wrong bum, 'n she's set t' make sure 'e 'r 'is kin don' do 't ag'n. If'n ye wanna join 's, we 'r lookin' 't a visit t' Ossin'ton soon."
Alkaid Ingrid Bridgette Aiba |
Alkaid adds
Actually Edrukk, it was worse as few customers hindered your view of the scene.
she blushes with embarrassment as she continue
"The jerk grabbed my left rear with his left hand and his right hand was grabbing the right of my chest."
"Just thinking about it makes me want to punish him some more.
But I'd like to first know how bad he was before he gets judgement from me.
Everyone deserves chance."
Hermes Depuis |
"Travelling to Ossington, why not, if it makes a ballad that will bring fame and fortune to us all." the bard smiles, tipping his beret to Edrukk. "So when do we leave?" Hermes asks. After the the companions reply, he gives his apologies as he returns to stand on the bar and once more entertain the tavern crowd.
Sanstree |
Sanstree lays out a map on the table after the platters are cleared, and the bellies are filled. And in that brief interlude before the beer and food produces unconsciousness in his fellows.
"You see Ossington is way out of the way and not a good place to even have a town. The druids held the land for some time, until Ashardalon attacked. The town sits amongst a ring of standing stones. The area can not be scried upon an tha druids been wantin tah buy tha place fer a good while."
"Tha town was ready tah sell, an we err tah go an try to close tha deal an help tha people come away safe."
"But no one has heard from nary a person in near 3 months, an they want us tah check tha place out afore winter sets in."
@Alkaid
"Many a girl here's better fer bein here tha at a brothel somewhere else."
Alkaid Ingrid Bridgette Aiba |
Alkaid replies to the barmaid
"That is an answer for a different question, And true being a barmaid is better than a brothel girl.
But the question asked was, was he as jerk to the other barmaids and female patrons?"
"And given the way he confidently grabbed me without regard given the surroundings, I would say yes, but I would like to confirm how bad."
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (13) + 19 = 32
Alkaid will get an answer to the question, even if she lies.
Hermes Depuis |
I'm gonna assume that Hermes is still around, as you haven't as yet decided when you are leaving.
"Yes, like I said, a pleasant trip into the woods. Be nice to rest up under the starry night sky and smell the fresh scent of early morning ferns. Missing people, surely they've just taken a liking to the road and continued to travel onwards." says Hermes with a smile and a cocky wink.
KenderKin |
As you get out of town and further out from Brindinford, you see Cauldron in the distance, but are turning instead onto a road that sees very little traffic and is obviously little utilized.
The sign indicates that Ossington is at the furthest point along this path.....
Hermes Depuis |
Perception 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Hermes is happy to march along with Alkaid, chatting and singing to keep the spirits up, Expecting that both Broccan and Edrukk, will lead the way. Sanstree, probably just behind the two armored men. His attention is taken namely by Alkaid, her body sways in motion to his singing.
Broccan Dunchad |
Broccan draws up short and rests his hand on the hilt of his sword.
"This cou' be trouble. Shou' we form up t' fight, 'r jus' keep walk'n n' see if they wann'eh star' sum'n?"
Edrukk Thorvirgun |
"Bah, they be smart enough t' count. 'less there be some 'idin' near, those two 'll be walkin' by. Watch fer th' others 'at might be 'n 'idin'."
KenderKin |
"We just left our village, the other day."
Points back into the forest, at an angle off the road....
"Not many people going to and fro any longer...Well except for you, we actually just accomplished our mission, to find out where all the people went."
The dog that's talking leaves his mouth open, his tongue lolls to one side.....
"But nothing on the road either way for many miles!"
Explains the second one as he points to his nose...
