Time flies! It is almost a year since I have played my -1, but I certainly don't feel like I'm missing out.
Now I'm pretty sure everyone (except me) is American.
I have been referring to Dusk's map as a 'mud map' which I have just realized is probably an Australian idiom - meaning a roughly (hand)drawn, not super-accurate map.
Not sure if there's a US term for this?
Eadie Navhelan |
Oh yes. I might post an example tonight.
Eadie Navhelan |
Toro |
@Toro, can you please let me know which icon you would like for Squeeze?
The second one makes me laugh much more... lets choose that one!
@Mudmap... I was taking that a bit too literally. And I've learned something today!
Eadie Navhelan |
GM, please give me a gp cost for the chronicle sheet.
Wembly would also be willling to help with food supplies to the children.
No worries! Noted for when we reach the end.
Eadie Navhelan |
I’m pretty tired, so I’m gonna have to call it a night.
I can’t see how you can get LOS on either with a 5’ step.
Lhug, I am not very familiar with the witch class. Can you fly upwards at 45 degrees at half speed as a move action? Or are you thinking of rising faster with a fly check?
"Fool" - Corvid Rhonabwy |
Flight* (Su)
The witch grows lighter as she gains power, eventually gaining the ability to fly.
Effect: At 1st level, the witch can use feather fall at will and gains a +4 racial bonus on Swim checks. At 3rd level, she can cast levitate once per day. At 5th level, she can fly, as per the spell, for a number of minutes per day equal to her level. These minutes do not need to be consecutive, but they must be spent in 1-minute increments. This hex only affects the witch.
and fly says: The subject can fly at a speed of 60 feet (or 40 feet if it wears medium or heavy armor, or if it carries a medium or heavy load). It can ascend at half speed and descend at double speed, and its maneuverability is good.
That's further than I thought, so i guess up 30' and forward 10ish so i can still range the enemy with slumber without doing trigonometry.
Eadie Navhelan |
Gotcha. Thanks so much for the assist :)
I'll update Gameplay in a few hours.
Wembly Templeton |
Thanks for the map update - I thought we had 3 unfriendly foes and the merchant had run off the map. Wembly would not have glittered the shopkeep if that was the grey one. :(
DrGabe |
No worries, DrGabe. Enjoy!
As for where Squeeze is, it's up to you.
At the start of the encounter, I placed him at the back so he and Ilwynog were more "out of harm's way."
If you would prefer him adjacent to Toro, that's fine.
Turn updated (sorry again for the delay). Its up to you, Squeeze is going for the white NPC, see his spoiler for tactics and rolls.
Eadie Navhelan |
Wembly would not have glittered the shopkeep if that was the grey one. :(
Don't sweat it, Wembly.
I understand confusion and trying to sort out who's hostile and who's not is normal on the battlefield.
IMO, what happened ADDED to the depth of the game.
@DrGabe, no worries. I’m cool with you having sic’ed Squeeze onto White.
An update to Gameplay is incoming!
Hakime |
Heads up all... I am going to Gamex this weekend... we leave early in the morning and not sure when/if I'll be able to check in before Monday night... If I can post, it will be limited in time with brief posts... Please feel free to bot me if I'm holding things up... thanks...
Eadie Navhelan |
Thanks for the heads up and have a great time!

GM, is the square NW of Dusk a 5 foot step? If Sif does not respond, can we have her take a 5 foot step away and attempt to put out the fire?
Dusk, that square is indeed a 5’ step, but I think you are confusing Hakima with Sifvery??
Sifvery is on the southern edge of the battle map, in the center.
Anyways, I am confident Hakime will be back by the time it is her turn again.

What a great picture
Thanks! I've been waiting for the right time to use it ;)

I may have missed it in one of the posts while driving...did we rest or is this new elemental business all the same day for spell purposes?
"Fool" - Corvid Rhonabwy |
Rest is for the weak!

The activities in Crystalcrag began late morning, and it is not yet 12 hours later.
You haven't rested, so we are still in the same game day as far as spells and health is concerned.
Heads up, I've got a few things on today. I will update gameplay sometime in the next 14 hours.
(Hopefully sooner rather than later)

Thank-you for the info – and a Happy Queen’s Birthday weekend to everyone!
(That’s Elizabeth II NOT Tygora …)
A message from our New Zealand cousins about driving safely.

Dusk has sneak-attacked ME with a curly rules question! ;)
Is delaying considered acting? With the implication that a 'yes' means the character delaying is no longer flat footed.
For the moment I'm going to say 'yes' and therefore, blue is not flat-footed.
However, I'm going to check to see what some more experienced GMs have to say. Then I'll report back with a final ruling.
Sifvery Moon |
I would rule taking a Delay as no longer flatfooted. Since an action can include just about anything, I think the fact that your turn has come up is sufficient.
If you want a more RAW sort of argument, the ability to delay is listed under No Action in the Table: Actions in Combat, right along with a 5' step. So unless you are willing to allow "take a five foot step and do nothing else (or ready an action)" to also be flat-footed, it seems fairly clear-cut to me.
Tallisan "Dusk Guardian" |
Sweet! I usually don't get to sneak attack the GM! Can that be listed on the chronicle sheet?
I agree with your ruling though. I was re-reading the rules. They say "Until you have a chance to act, you are flat footed." It doesn't say that you actually have to act. If you delay, you have had your chance to act, you've just chosen not to act at that moment.
I didn't even think about the rules question at the time. I was thinking that if they had uncanny dodge they would not be flat footed - and that would not be something I knew until I attacked them.
Also, the Paizo site has been giving me issues for a few days. It seems to be working now, but please don't delay the game if I am unable to respond promptly.
And last.... Woo-hoo! The Penguins won the Stanley Cup!!!

Thank-you for the input on the rules question – seems pretty much everyone thinks it’s clear cut that delaying removes flat-footed.
Sweet! I usually don't get to sneak attack the GM! Can that be listed on the chronicle sheet?
Well, I was going to add something else, but you have to topple the tyrant queen first …
I was thinking that if they had uncanny dodge they would not be flat footed.
Oh yeah. That makes much more sense.
And congratz on the Stanley Cup, Dusk. There's been little talk about hockey in the office this week :)

are you sure her fly is a spell? it might just be a natural ability...
Unfortunately, Hakime has the right of it, and Tygora has the natural/inherent ability to fly.
BTW, I went back through Gameplay and saw that the party discovered at least one rumor/report that Tygora is an efreet. Though it’s possible those reports are false.
[Dice=know planes]1d20+12 = 17
Is that enough to know race or planar status?
No, I posted a Knowledge (planes) DC 23 spoiler that would reveal that info. Similarly you would need a 28 in the same skill to ask the question about her defences.
The 19 is enough to know a little about Mini-me. I will post that info in gameplay.
@Dusk, yeah I applied the attack vs your flat-footed instead of touch AC, so unfortunately you are correct. Thanks for your honesty.

Just clarifying my understanding of what’s going on with Fool’s readied snowball.
Fool’s Round 2 turn was the lightning bolt.
For his current round action (round 3 for everyone except Wembly + Whiskers, who are in round 4), Fool is readying a snowball attack for when Tygora next acts (which will be in round 4)
Correct?
Wembly Templeton |
Wembly is trying to keep the big casters up - figuring they can do more range damage than he can with wand of magic missiles plinking away at her.
"Fool" - Corvid Rhonabwy |
yes the readied snowball will be interrupt

There are still a few items to address (including whether Eadie lives or dies) but we are close to the end, so could you please take a moment to check Day Jobs, etc >>here<< so I can work on your Chronicles this weekend?
My preferred method of delivering your Chronicles is pdf by e-mail. So if you could please PM me your preferred e-mail address that would be great!
I already have e-mail addresses for Dusk & Wembly.
Online VL Hmm has also advised that we qualify for the first part of the PFS Free RPG Day boon. So I will send you a GM-signed copy of that as well.
Any questions, please let me know!
