Ash - Eric de Vries |
Ash looks at the snow covered peaks
"That's where we are heading?!"
Ash goes to mediate and prepares endure elements instead of one of his typical fire spells ..just in case he ends up ankle (or head) deep in the snow
********************
Ash looks up surprised as the arrow get's entangled inside his quilt armor and draws some blood as it pierces through
I have DR 3/- vs missiles, so only 4 damage
"...so that's how you want to play it?!"
Ash summons forth a ball of flame in the palm of his hand, extends his other hand behind it and makes a pushing motion with his other hand causing the fire to fly up at the closest harpy
To hit touch AC: 1d20 + 8 - 2 ⇒ (12) + 8 - 2 = 18 (-2 for winds)
Fire damage if hit: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Seeing the display Roland feels a bit inspired to join in
Roland get's a +1 morale bonus on his attacks next round due to my glorious heat feat (he would also heal 1 hp, but I don't think he has any damage right now

It turns out Roland is something of a harpy expert.
His uncle would undoubtedly demand an explanation if he knew! ;)
Ash’s firebolt singes the red-winged harpy's shoulder as it strikes true, causing the creature to SCREAM!!

It’s wings are unaffected though and the Pathfinders' feathered foe maintains its altitude.
The blue-eyed harpy glides down to the snowy floor of the pass and waves its morning star at the party threateningly.
Her green-eyed sister double flies towards the party’s right flank.

School enchantment (compulsion) [emotion, mind-affecting]; Level bard 2, sorcerer/wizard 3, witch 3

Range close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Target one creature
Duration 1 day/level
Saving Throw Will negates; Spell Resistance yes
You fill your target with feelings of intense infatuation for a specific individual known to the target. At the time of the casting, you designate a single creature as the focus of the target's desire. Thereafter, the target does all it can to remain within 30 feet of the object of its desire.
If the target moves outside this range, it gains the staggered condition until it is again near the focus of its desire. If remaining within 30 feet of the focus of its affection would place the target in obvious physical danger, the target can attempt a second save to break the spell's effect.
Reckless infatuation counters unadulterated loathing.

I don’t mind which order you make the rolls, Roland. Survival first probably makes more sense *shrug* Let’s go with the order that you’ve rolled.
Ali alone feels the chill of Gozreh’s Biting Breath as the party considers their next move at the bottom of the cliff face.
Ali: -4 Non Lethal + fatigued.
Roland senses that the old watch towers the harpies were nesting in would provide some shelter from the wind, possibly allowing a fire to be established.
This is a reminder you are on the clock and are 18/24 hours through Day 2/3.
Tomorrow is another big day for everyone! ;)
It would be great to see a plan in action and/or some dice being rolled within the next eighteen real world hours, before another hour in-game time goes past and we need another round of Fort saves.

"Look, another harpy. We better set up a watch"
Ash will prepare another endure elements if we manage to get a good enough nights rest. If needed I can prepare 3 more if people need/want one?
Aakif Hazam |
"Jerevyx was the name of the harpy we were supposed to encounter. Did we get her, or is she still up in those caves?"
Do we have any way to identify Jerevyx? If we were given a description, was the face we saw her? If we got her, can we just start moving towards the next objective?
Aakif's Plan, as requested by the GM:
If we didn't get Jerevyx, Aakif will see who the best climber in the group is, then cast a few spells on them before they climb up and secure a rope for the rest of the party. Then we hunt for Jerevyx.
If we did get her, Aakif will consult the more nature knowledgeable members of the party to determine if traveling through the night towards our next objective is a reasonable idea. At dawn, Aakif can pray for lesser restoration spells to remove the party's fatigue.
Ali Khalid Mustafa Ansari |
"I'm not sure," Ali notes as he continues to concentrate on his spell. "I was hoping the sight of an unknown harpy would draw her out of the cave but it doesn't seem to be working." He makes the image of the harpy fly about, acting impressing and flexing its talons in a display of its superior power, clearly trying to take over the territory.
Ali then thinks for a minute. "Have you ever seen a magician pull a rabbit out of hat? That's for amateurs. I can do something similar, but with monkeys. What if I made a troupe of monkeys show up in the cave. That might scare her out."
Ali's plan-if no one wants to climb and risk being caught on the cliff mid-combat-is to cast mad monkeys on the cave mouth and hope that the swarm of monkeys will get the harpy to fly out where we can more easily take her down.
Yours is mined |
@ Ali, if you want to try the mad monkeys idea, please confirm by roleplaying the casting of the spell.

I'll call for the next hour's worth of Fortitude checks fairly soon.
Roland Garros |

Once Roland is ready to fly, Ali nods. "Ok, monkeys it is then!" He says a few nonsense words followed by screeches and much stamping out. Soon you can hear similar sounds multiplied above in the cave as the swarm of monkeys starts leaping about the cave trying to chase out the inhabitant.
