All right, I presume that being resistant to the damage doesn't make Riley any less...well, on fire. Also presuming he's just grappled, or even pinned (It shouldn't be possible to render helpless in one round) Riley's going to try to spread the love (and the flames) with a Dirty Trick maneuver. If that's not possible, still going to try to break the pin.

Jory would rather not be enlarged, not useful for him as much.

Jory steps forward five feet and fires at the grappler with two thistle arrows.

Seeing that moving into color spray range would put her great risk, I would suspect Jezebel would move up 5-10' and cast Magic Missile on the grappler. He appears to be the greatest threat at the moment.

After the (disarmed?) Saboteur goes, Fendahl will cast "Blessings of Fervor" on the entire party (assuming Jezebel moved up at least 5').

(Note: Each person needs to pick their *blessing* each round).
Fendahl will take the +2 bonus on attack rolls and a +2 dodge bonus to AC and Reflex saves.

"Master Jory and Sutoko, take out that rope monger!"

Forgot to make an AoO as Riley came by, the big guy has 10' reach AoO: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17, failing again!

Jory steps forward and hits with one of the arrows.
Jezebel moves forward to give the back party some time. Casting as she runs, she unleashes a spell at the last moment, color spray, DC16 Will Save.
Will Save Sabotuer: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
Will Save Strangler: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Will Save Riley: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18
Well that was much ado about nothing!

Sutoku, your turn. Riley and Fendahl's turn logged.

When the Samurai end his turn adjacent to the pit (cleverly arranged by Sutoku - he had to either provoke from me or end next to the pit :) ) he has to make an other save, at +2, or fall into the pit. Also, what do the red dots mean? Do they designate the two in the grapple?

Lantern Lodge

Male Tengu Inquisitor 7, HP= 43/45 / AC21, Touch 13, FF 18 / Fort +7, Reflex +7, Will +9 +2 trait bonus vs. charm and compulson / Perception +14/

Choosing the blessing of an extra attack, the Tengu uses his swift action to activate his greater bane against humans and full attacks the grappler (or whoever the enemy is with the red dot) with hss 10 foot reach, using power attack for both attacks. The grappler should loose some AC to Sutoku if he is grappling Riley, right?

This is complicated, so let me break it down. Sutoku is enlarged so strength bonus to hit is offset exactly by size penalty to hit. He gets +2 to hit from his bane ability. For damage he is now large so 1) the base damage for the Nodachi increases from 1d10 to 2d8, and 2) his strength increases from 20 to 22, making his strength damage with a two handed weapon go from +7 to +9 (+6 and half again for using it two handed). Its a +1 weapon, so +10. +6 is from Power Attack. It is flaming from the spell he cast last round so that is the 1d6 (flaming). And the Greater Bane from his Bane Baldric adds 4d6 against humans.

His blade a blur, he slices both opponents before him, opening them with his keen Nodachi.

Nodachi: 1d20 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 12 + 2 = 342d8 + 10 + 6 + 1d6 + 4d6 ⇒ (1, 1) + 10 + 6 + (6) + (4, 5, 4, 5) = 42

Confirming the threat

Nodachi: 1d20 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 12 + 2 = 192d8 + 10 + 6 + 1d6 + 4d6 ⇒ (6, 5) + 10 + 6 + (1) + (2, 4, 4, 3) = 41

And the second attack (on the grappler if he is up, or the Samurai If he did not fall in the pit, if the grappler is down.)

Nodachi: 1d20 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 12 + 2 = 332d8 + 10 + 6 + 1d6 + 4d6 ⇒ (1, 6) + 10 + 6 + (6) + (4, 3, 1, 4) = 41

Confirming the threat

Nodachi: 1d20 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 12 + 2 = 212d8 + 10 + 6 + 1d6 + 4d6 ⇒ (3, 5) + 10 + 6 + (2) + (4, 3, 4, 5) = 42

I know this is a huge amount of damage. This is what buffed inquisitors can do. He has not even has a chance to activate his judgements yet. Sorry, but I did warn you that he was somewhat broken at the very beginning...

Wow... impressive, most impressive Sutoku.

With a blur of flaming steel the giant sized tengu makes quick work of both the Samurai warrior and the grappler. First the blade strikes deep into the enlarged Samurai who drops to the ground, blood pooling quickly. The man is groaning, still alive, but just barely.
The second swing strikes the grappling wrestler and just barely misses decapitating Riley. The blade digs deep into the Stangler and emerges from the other side. The man drops to the ground, dead.

The sabatour looks in horror at what just happened. Seeing the carnage that the Pathfinders have unleashed and drops his weapons and starts running for the exit of the cave.

He doesn't get far before a wonderful and strange site occurs- four magnificant warriors dressed in traditional Kirin atire. These warriors, summoned by their master Iko Tsueno, lead the charge into the cave. The last sabatour is quickly dispatched and all goes silent. Outside of the cave, you can hear the echos of a much larger battle taking place. The Kirin army has arrived to secure the island against the Golden League threat.

The Kirin help the Pathfinders evaluate Tsueno, Lii, and her helpers. They have been affected by a strong poison. Fortunately, the Kirin guard have greater restoration potions which bring the four fallen heroes back.

Once Tsueno recovers, he is very grateful for the work of the Pathfinders. Giving him and Li time to summon the Kirin was he difference between success and defeat.
Tsueno tells you that the fallen Samui was his old student Shimazi. He had turned on the Kirin many years ago and became the ruthless leader of the Golden League.

Li is also very grateful for the Pathfinder's hard work,

Quote:

Several years ago I arrived in Absalom as a nearly unknown figure who spoke of a nearly unknown land, and together we endeavored to bring the wonders of Tian Xia to the Pathfinder Society and in doing so draw the Society’s attention to our land. We brought the Decemvirate knowledge of the Hao Jin Tapestry, and it was we who guarded it against further intrusion when our enemies exploited gaps in the demiplane’s weave. With our efforts it is now one of the greatest treasures and tools of the Society. Were that not enough, we have now secured an alliance with an ancient and honorable organization. There is much honor in what we have done, and so much of it belongs to you for your years of service.

I have a few last tasks to conclude before I return to Goka to lead an expanded lodge there—the Society’s new regional headquarters. While our accomplishments thus far are great, even greater work lies ahead for me, and I cannot split my attention between the whole of Tian Xia and interests in the Inner Sea. I shall always support you when you are in Tian Xia, but your oaths and obligations to me are now officially fulfilled. Do not think that you are being abandoned. If you wish to seek a new patron, you will receive a letter of introduction penned by my own hand. If you wish to continue to serve me, do so by working alongside your fellow Pathfinders and sending me news of your travels. Fornow, rejoice, for we are victorious!

Wasting no time, Li wishes the Pathfinders well. She teleports everyone back to the mainland and then herself prepares to send her agents to Goka.

Jory approaches the inquisitor and cleric with a smile.
"That was incredible teamwork. Thanks for carrying the load on this mission. If you ever need my bow again, I will back you up any time."

Jory bows and adds to Li: "My last mission left me adrift. Thank you for allowing me to lend my bow to a worthwhile and useful mission. I will always remember my time with the Lantern Lodge."

Jory addresses his traveling companions: "I joined the Grand Lodge hoping they would be above politics and games, but did not enjoy my last orders. It will be difficult to rejoin them, but I do not know if I have much of a choice. This mission was my most rewarding of all. I thank you for sharing the brotherhood of the Lantern Lodge for a single mission. I only regret it cannot continue."

The dwarf chokes back tears and manages to put on a sober face.

Thanks for letting me come along Dr Gabe. If you run another Tier 3-7, I would love to be invited.

Thanks for running DrGabe. Was an interesting story and fun group. I worried of our chances...mainly when we had the party split, but worked out fine .

Not sure if it mattered but the bane damage dice would not multiply on the crits . Still impressive.

Riley just sits quietly off in the corner. His nice outfit is completely ruined by the flames, althoguh he appears mostly unburnt, and what little movement he engages in is very stiff and uneven. But he does bow to Amara as he takes his leave...and once they reappear in the Grand Lodge the man falls to his knees in prayer to a rapid succession of dieties - in increasing orders of awfulness - for his survival.

Fendahl would offer whatever healing he can...including lessor restoration if needed.

To Amara Li, with a deep bow in Tien fashion for great respect.

"It was an honor to serve you these years. We only hope we were able to accomplish all that was needed to regain the status among the houses and our Society . You have my katana should you ever need it again...just ask. "
