Manius Pindeloric |
Other then not rolling to see if he confirmed..he did the crit damage correctly..a scythe is a *4 weapon so he rolled his damage..and then added the crit damage to it (for 8+29=37 total or 4d4+16), it might be more clear to mention the total damage somewhere
Kyshkumen |
Oh right a scythe is a times four crit, duh. Sorry for the delay, in laws are in town and we were up at my parent's cabin.
Keeran's scythe easily takes the goblin in front of him. The goblin barking orders mumbles some words and points at Keeran.

Keeran |
Will Save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Keeran seems abnormally unnerved by the larger of the goblins.
is there a knowledge nature or local that can be made on the goblins and/or their leader? And I think one of use can understand goblin.
Boram Sandyfoot |
Boram lets an arrow fly at one of the goblins.
Not an action: 5' step, as indicated on map
Standard action: Fire arrow at one of the goblins that hasn't gone yet (pref. red, then orange)
Attack (Longbow): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Damage (Longbow): 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
GM Kyshkumen |
Will: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (19) - 1 = 18
I was actually wanting to fail that. That spell can be a lot of fun.
Keeran was unable to identify the spell cast on him by this goblin leader. The goblin hiding in the back is able to dodge Brom's arrow at the last second. While the goblin targeted by Selkin's spell shakes it's over sized head as it fights off the suggestion and fire's an arrow back at Selkin. It shouts something offensive sounding as it fires.
ranged: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
The shot bounces harmlessly off Selkin's armor. The other remaining goblin fires at Keeran.
ranged: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
His arrow also fails to hit it's target.

Damage if hit: 2d4 + 7 ⇒ (4, 3) + 7 = 14

Hrothgar and his rhino advance on the goblin in the back while Manius charges the goblin. Dispite his Valor Manius's falchion only connects with the stone column.

Despite Keeran's shaken condition, he moves forward to swing at the boss. He mutters a mantra in abyssal and as he swings his scythe.
Move, Destructive Smite and Swing.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (10) + 3 + 1 - 2 = 12
Scythe: 2d4 + 4 ⇒ (1, 1) + 4 = 6

Keeran's swing is wild and he is unable to hit the goblin leader. The goblin leader steps around Keeran and tries to stab him with it's spear.

The spear thrust is to low and passes between Keeran's legs.

Attack (Morningstar): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16

Boram moves forward the smacks a goblin in the head with his morningstar leaving a nasty wound. Both goblins drop their bows and switch to their swords. One attacks the rhino while the other takes a swing at Manius.

Manius takes a step to the side and tries to take a swing that the goblin instead of the stone pillar this time
to hit red goblin: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
slashing damage if hit: 2d4 + 7 ⇒ (3, 2) + 7 = 12
GM Kyshkumen |
Keeran is having a heard time holding his scythe steady as he seems a bit shaken up. His attack is wild and unstable completely missing the goblin leader. Hrothgar's rhino is easily dodged by a goblin and Hrothgar comes within a few inches of crushing that same goblins head.
On the other side of the room Manius takes the head off the other goblin with a smooth clean strike. The goblin leader steps back with a wicked grin on his face and a look of glee in his eye. He takes a deep breath and a plume of flame shoots from his mouth when he exhales, engulfing Keeran and Selkin.

Boram Sandyfoot |
With Manius having taken care of his current opponent, Boram moves around the nearby column of stone and finds another opponent. He approaches and swings his morningstar once more.

Standard action: Attack yellow goblin
Attack (Morningstar): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Damage (Morningstar): 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Boram's morningstar strikes the goblin leader but this goblin is a bit more resilient then the others and stays on it's feet.
The remaining goblin minion slashes at Hrothgar with it's sword.

Keeran tries to take advantage of a flanking position but is still unable to connect with his scythe. The rhino tries again to gore the goblin as it bobs and weaves out of the way. Hrothgar's warhammer puts an end to that with a solid blow the the goblins head. leaving it twitching on the ground.
The remaining goblin steps in front of Keeran and tries to pull off a quick spell.

Manius Pindeloric |
"Well fought."
Manius will search the bodies while someone with more skill at searching can take a look around the area. Manius will pile everything together with all the other stuff that is found so someone can cast detect magic on it.
Keeran |
Keeran swiftly thrusts his scythe to the side, removing most of the gore. He turns away from the party wordless as he resumes his search of the room, carefully prodding around with the butt of his spear at the camp and surrounding areas. He is in no rush to do this since he is still well burned from the goblin he could not hit.
Taking 20 on the search, giving him a 29. How long will the stagger last?
Selkin Rayne |
Selkin taps himself with his wand of Cure Light Wounds and will offer to do the same for others either with his or their own.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
GM Kyshkumen |
There is a locked chest burried in the supplies. the goblins have leather armor, short swords and short bows. Their leader has master work chain shirt, a master work spear, a potion of CLW and two flasks of acid. There is also a pouch on the leader containing five green peridots.
Keeran is shaken for 2 more minutes.
Hrothgar Mountain Heart |
I wish I knew where Kysh went. I have a way to open the chest if we need it. Hrothgar swings his warhammer a bit but waits to see if anyone wants to try to open the chest without breaking it.
Manius Pindeloric |
"I dread wearing something that's been on a goblin before...but I could use an upgrade of armor, unless someone else wants to use it as well?"
says Manius as he indicates the masterwork chain shirt
Boram Sandyfoot |
Boram approaches the chest. "Move aside, you brutes. Let's see what I can do..." He proceeds to attempt to pick the lock.
Disable Device (Take 20, Guidance): 20 + 6 + 2 + 1 = 29
In addition, he looks at Manius, then at the small-sized chain shirt. "How exactly do you propose to fit in that? Suck in and hope for the best?"
Manius Pindeloric |
"I knew there was a reason I didn't want to wear anything worn by a goblin...I just thought it was the smell, I didn't think of the size issue...must be the big head they have..it's even bigger then mine."
Good point ;)
Boram Sandyfoot |
"All of this work, and still no keys. Anyone have any ideas?" He grabs the scroll fragment given to them when this whole thing started and begins studying it. Seven dots, the topmost of which is a red star....red star...
"Okay, everyone dump what we have found thus far in this place. Look for anything that resembles a red star - a mark, symbol, even a drop of blood."
