diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
"We only broke the blockade because we weren't trying to get involved in this mess." Negi said, giving her a wide-eyed, pleading expression. "That may not have been the best course of action, but after the Goblins and Bandits, we were afraid to take any chances! But that's why we didn't kill anybody."
Bluff: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
"we never even heard of this "braid" thing you're talking about!"
Weapons-grade cuteness sure comes in handy, doesn't it? But just in case, can I get an assist?

The woman looks a bit surprised that you don't even know who or what Quain and Po Li are. She goes on to explain that the Successor State of Quain in Tian Xia is the largest center of martial arts training on the continent. Seat of the former capital of Lung Wa, the Successor State of Po Li is now a monotheistic theocracy run by a council of powerful oracles who wait for the reincarnation of the Eternal Emperor.
"There is, to my knowledge, no one else looking for you, " the woman tells you. "Foreigners will, however, always stand out. You may encounter other people who will be hostile toward you, for that or another reason."
"I'm convinced you don't know of the braid we're looking for... Will you agree to let us go, if we do not attempt to attack you again?"
Theron Keenfoot |
"....i'll be on the upper stern."
Theron walked up casually, patting the roc over the head.
"Who's a good girl...yes you."
He just watches the 'captives' leave the ship, before watching the vast water again.

Conclusion
After defeating Captain Xiao and eluding capture by the Hailong, you're free to continue across the Sea of Eels in peace. Once you reach Shokuro, you rendezvous with a Pathfinder Society contact who is waiting to receive the Laughing Crow and convey any messages or items you may have for your various faction leaders. From here you travel onward to Nesting Swallow, where the third and final part of your mission will take place.
Congratulations on completing the scenario! Chronicles will follow within a few days.

The Quest for Perfection - Defenders of Nesting Swallow
Tedium has become a constant companion in the countryside of Shokuro. The roads have dwindled in size and maintenance as the days have passed; what was a wide, stone-paved highway near the river towns has become a narrow, winding track of dust, sometimes fading entirely into the surrounding terrain. Travelers along it have likewise grown scarce as the days drone on. Still, the journey’s end lies no more than half a day’s travel away, in the village of Nesting Swallow, a hamlet so small it could easily vanish into a crease on a map. No more than a few more miles through these sparsely wooded hills and valleys rests the last known home of Master Li Yao, and here, with luck, his descendant still lives. In this speck of farmland may be found one who can, by right of blood, bring forth the forgotten power of the Braid of a Hundred Masters.
See the "map" for some info on your location.
Belinda Bluefoot |
"What a beautiful countryside!" gushes Belinda.
It turns out that Bulgo did run into some trouble, or rather away from it. His sister however seems a chatty sort and more than happy to take his place.
Along with her there is a small bear that she adopted as a cub.
"He only eats berries, don't worry about him. Wouldn't hurt a fly. Well, maybe a fly."
Negi Othollo |

"I'm more worried about his ''mother''." Neg said as he stuffed two freshly-caught rabbits in a saddlebag. He gently pushed aside a nuzzle from Jon. "Later my friend!"
Mia Kusanagi |
You see a young, pale human wearing a robe and remaining silent. You notice her hair is done in long braids around her neck, much like the monks who follow Irori.
Despite being human, she is very short for a human and says little.
"Let us empower this braid." she states simply as she cracks her knuckles.
Theron Keenfoot |
Theron is surprised there's fewer halflings now.
"Companions change quickly, in this pathfinder society organization."
When the pale human came in, something triggered a memory.
"Say miss, you wouldn't happen to know, by chance, a green haired elf?
Guy's got bit of an odd accent and walks around with this weird clawed ladyfriend. They're aquaintances, first and only elf i've met so far who was interesting."

Silent Tide wasn't it?
Mia thinks for a moment and gives a firm nod.
"Yes, I believe so. His hair was natural, right?" she states as she attempts to recall the past before her long jungle adventure. "I also know of an Elf who has been training at the society recently. He colours his hair on a whim and acts more like a gnome than a Elf."
reference to my, as of yet unplayed Magus. Raised by Gnomes and generally pissed off all the Elves in Kyronin private schools, but his oddness made him a winner with various rebelling females.
Belinda Bluefoot |
"Now, now. No need to get into height jokes. Us halflings may be short of stature, but we make up for in in steadfastness. Well, apart from my brother."
Theron Keenfoot |
"Yes, I believe so. His hair was natural, right?"
"Er..i think he did mention it being a side effect of something.
At least it wasn't a disgusting color green, it was something different from the many brown and blonde hair i've seen on elves."Mia Kusanagi |

"Maybe a trend. I wouldn't know." she states simply as she stretches, waiting to get on with the adventure "Let us honor the society."StephNyan |
You've nearly reached Nesting Swallow, and have begun to encounter some of the farms on the outskirts of the village. Though these farming developments seem unremarkable enough at first, an eerie silence permeates
the countryside, and it soon becomes clear that not all is right in this region around Nesting Swallow.
Cresting a rise, the trail winds its way up a small hillock that overlooks a large valley beyond. Not far from the hill, a dead mule and overturned cart lie in the middle of the road, two cloaked figures rummaging through the spilled contents of the cart while making disapproving cawing noises to a pair of similarly dressed riders on horseback. Two other horses stand on the side of the road, presumably mounts for the two on foot. The mounted figures loom over a half-dozen shabbily dressed peasants. One of the riders urges his horse forward and makes a threatening slash at the face of a man trying to shield several children behind him.
Negi Othollo |
"Bandits..." Negi snarls, drawing his lance as Jon paws the ground. "Our sneaky guy isn't here, so if you got an objection to me spitting that crow over there, you'd better speak now. Otherwise, arm up!"
Belinda Bluefoot |
"Those poor people" sighs Belinda.
"All their worldly goods, in all likeyhood."
She pats Benni on the head and whispers in his ear.
Casts Acid Maw on Benni and then orders him to Attack
Mia Kusanagi |
was waiting to hear if it were possible to charge. As I've heard nothing I'll just roll an attack like all of you.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 7 + 2 = 25
Damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Can't wait till 4th. Then she can ignore DR!
StephNyan |
The tengu haven't noticed you and there's still some distance in between them and you. While you move closer you grab your weapons.
You all have a BaB of at least 1 so you were all able to draw your weapons while moving closer. I've put up a map, and each of you gets a single move/standard action in the surprise round.
Surprise round:
Belinda
Mia
Negi
Rolan
Theron
Belinda, could you place a token on the map for Benni?
Belinda Bluefoot |
Same question here. If I got to cast acid maw and then order Benni to attack, then Belinda will move (as will Benni), otherwise if it is just a single action, It will be casting acid maw.
Mia Kusanagi |
Well with the map up, I doubt I get too far. I can only do a single move action or am I able to move up as far as I'd like? Also Mia goes into snapping turtle form as a free action to add +1 shield bonus to AC
Mia Kusanagi |
I've moved her back. She still moved a good distance. Not updated the profile, but she has 40ft movement, extra movement from 3rd level. She also has pain-points, which won't come into play unless she crits a humanoid.
Belinda Bluefoot |
Belinda casts Acid Maw on Berni.
"Sick em boy!" she says to the small bear, sending him forward to attack the bandit attacking the man defending his family.
Handle animal as a free action, with a +14 bonus, can't fail.
Bernie moves forward at a rapid bear gait.
StephNyan |
I see Negi also moved himself on the map.
Negi, riding Jon, moves forward.
Mia also heads toward the tengu bandits.
Belinda casts acid maw on Bernie, then sends Bernie forward.
Rolan releases an arrow and hits the nearest tengu in its shoulder.
Surprise round:
Belinda
Mia
Negi
Rolan
Theron
Red tengu -2HP
I'm giving Theron one more day to post, 'cause he's celebrating his b-day this weekend.
StephNyan |
Theron takes a shot at the red tengu, but the arrow ends up in a tree.
Mia: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Negi: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
Rolan: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Theron: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
Tengu blue: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Tengu green: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
Tengu red: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Tengu yellow: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
Tie breaker:
Negi: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Tengu yellow: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
The tengu are slow to react to your surprise attacks, and some of you get to act before them.

Negi spurs Jon into action at the lone Tengu near the wagon.
Lance Charge: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
Charging Bite: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Lance Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 x 2 = 18
Bite Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Rotisserie Chicken, anyone?
StephNyan |
Theron and Rolan both take another shot at the red tengu and both hit, but the feathered bandit still stands.
Negi spurs Jon into action and charges at the red tengu. His lance pierces the tengu's chest and he drops. Jon then makes sure the tengu will never get back up by biting in the bandit's throat.
Wakizashi: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8 Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
One of the other tengu moves up to Negi while drawing a wakizashi. He tries to stab Negi with his weapon, but the attack's easily dodged.

Is it possible to charge even though the enemy is directly infront of me? If so, here's the rolls.
charge: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 7 + 2 = 20
Damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Her normal AC should be 18 with Snapping turtle style, however I believe it's at -2 from the charge, if that's allowed. If not, she'll be 5ft step back and go total defense.
StephNyan |
All that's required to charge is 10 feet or more to your target, and nothing directly in between your target and yourself.
Mia charges forward and hits one of the tengu (blue) on horseback.
The blue tengu maneuvers his horse a bit west and also draws a wakizashi, which he swings at Mia.
Wakizashi, High Ground: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 5 + 1 = 24 Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Confirm crit: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 5 + 1 = 20 Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
The wakizashi cuts into Mia's arm and causes a nasty wound.
The green tengu guides his horse toward Mia while drawing his own wakizashi, and also attacks her.
Wakizashi, High Ground: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 5 + 1 = 18 Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
The blade slashes Mia's back open, and the tengu laughs. "You shouldn't have come to help these dumb peasants! Cawcawcaw! We'll take your gold too!"

Bernie lumbers forward, biting at the bandit who is unhorsed.

Theron moves closer.

"Girl, attack the crow, him.", Theron motions to the roc at red.
The roc double moves.
Mia Kusanagi |
I think I should've stayed in Total Defence, lol. 11/24. I should update this profile sometime.
Edit: Updated. Also keeping this post to remind me to remember her HP. I should invest in a belt for extra hp sometime or a headband for the WIS to increase AC and at 4th, improved exploit weaknesses.
StephNyan |
@Mia: I see it turned out to be 25 HP instead of 24?
Rolan moves forward and fires at the tengu in blue, but his arrow goes wide.
Bernie lumbers forward and bites at the yellow tengu, but can't hit his target either. Meanwhile Belinda runs forward on unusually quick little halfling feet.
Theron moves closer and takes another shot, but he also misses. He motions for his roc to head toward the red tengu.
Negi has Jon drop back and stabs at the yellow tengu, who he hits.
The blue tengu doesn't look like he's doing very well.
