The situation at the Fort seems to have come to a lull, as the gnolls are outside talking, though one of them remains at the iron porticullis at the entrance of the cavern.

Feel free to act.

Ic is locked in, which he doesn't like. He also doesn't quite like the idea of big hyenas being in the room next to him, so he tries to figure out is there's a pattern to their presence. He's good at patterns.

He also has a good look at the room, the floor and the ceiling. He wonders how hard it would be to tunnel through.

So basically, he's just nervously ogling everyone and everything, without saying anything.

Seeing that they seem to have been dismissed, Liam tries to draw his fellow slave friends close and some distance away from the other slaves.

Shoanti:
"Gima is part of the Bellflower Network, which helps people escape Chelish slavery. She seeks freedom. Not sure what the gnolls said on the way in, but maybe they plan to get drunk on wine tonight? We could try taking advantage of that to look around, but I'm also kind of tired from the forced march. Sounded kind of like we might get a good look around during our 'training' tomorrow. What do you think?"

If any of the other slaves come within eavesdropping distance, Liam will suddenly break off talking in Shoanti to say the following in common.
"Did you see tha' giant bird thin'? It coulda eaten us in one gulp, it could! We're lucky the blighter didn't see us!"

Wulfren responds to Liam in Shoanti.

Shoanti:
I hate to let them hold us any longer than necessary. If we wait too long too make our move, we may face an even larger force of guards in the morning. But maybe not. I could stand a bit of rest myself, but going at night could be risky. I say it's either now or in the morning.

Ic is somewhat happy to hear the orphan's language, and adds

Shoanti:
I don't like being locked in. I want out. There's big dogs, and men that look like dogs. If they drink wine, they might not fight so well. I have my sword, and Ana has my components, so I'll show them for punching me. If they are drunk tonight, our best chance is tonight.

Once inside the Fort, Gert looks for an opportunity to check out the smashed chest and scraps of paper if she can do so without arousing undue suspicion.

Grand Lodge

Gert:
Sorry, I failed to see it!

The scraps of paper appear to be letters that have been partly consumed by the hyenas, and partly shredded. You can attempt an Intelligence, Linguistics or Perception check (same DC for all).

So you're waiting until nightfall?

Gert:
You are able to piece together some information from a few scraps of paper. What's most noteworthy are a few surviving signatures, including one by "-orn Desimire", one by "Mr. Sloan" and one from Jacquo Dals-".

Liam can see that this door is locked, obviously. Gert comes to the same conclusion when she comes near it.

Liam lightly taps out the first part of the shave and a haircut knock (there's an audio file on the page you can play), pausing to listen at the door.

There are other people in this room right? Or did the other slaves all leave?

If there are other people:
Liam says in Shoanti, "I'm not sure our friends yonder would like me ta break out right in front of them. Or at least, I don't think Korshad would like it. We could try waitin' 'til they're asleep or see if they can be distracted-like."

If we're alone:
Liam quietly takes out his shrunken lock picks, says the magic word to re-size them, and attempts to pick the lock, afterwards slipping them up his sleeve. Since I assume he can't re-shrink them.

Grand Lodge

Alright, I hope you don't mind my pushing forward since things appear to turn a little slow for the game's own good.

Catching all of the other slaves in the room unawares, Liam manages to unlock the door leading to the kennels!

Please give a stealth check, Liam. If Ic or Wulfren want to come into the kennels, please give me a similar roll.
