How do we enter it?
Does that mean the evil Nicasor will also be released if we destroy the mirror?
Since they are made by the Zon-Kuthon-ites, maybe we should go see if we can get some info on Nicasor.

There's a command word. The Baron will use it to send you through.

Well carpola!
Can we at least see some of the environment looking into the mirror?
I think I should change up some of my spell selection and start in the morning.

.
Hmm... Seems we are lack substantive information. {sigh} Hurrying how much is needful?
.
Thinking about it some more. If you guys want to wait 2 mornings. I could prep a bunch of hour per level buffs tomorrow. Cast them just before prep'ing the next morning. Prep my new spells. Enter the mirror. Then we could go in with a few buff spells already running for about 4 hours.

Yes! It looks like a mirror image of Boroi Manor. When you step through, some of what you experience will likely bear a resemblance to the actual manor.

Mareck finds and decodes a passage that informs him: The only way to destroy the midnight mirror is to enter it and kill the physical manifestation of the magic item's consciousness with a shard of itself from the Material Plane. Doing so will cause the prison plane to break apart and disgorge all living creatures and items originally from the Material Plane through the shattered mirror back to their plane of origin.

Does this mean Nicasor is the mirrors consciousness? If not, a second question: he's not from the Prime, so he'll remain on the other plane when we destroy the mirror?

"I agree with Harrow," says Berosius to the baron. "A man can change. Or else what's forgiveness for? But you, lord baron, have learned only half the lesson. Dealing with entities like this Nicasor is bad. But putting your own desires before those of your family is the real cause of the plague and the deaths."

"Each of us here because of something greater than ourselves. And we go now to face this Nicasor for the same reason - because we each serve something greater."

"Repent now while you can, and follow our example. And now we go."

That was kinda my point. Right now, I have my standard spell load minus the 2 that I've cast. If we leave tomorrow morning, I can have a specific spell load. If we leave morning after tomorrow, I can have about 4 hours left on some hour duration spells and a specific spell load.

Silver Crusade

For the sake of ambiance, let's say this happens: The party pores over the resources in the library all night, gathering every bit of information they can about the midnight mirror. Bleary-eyed, but fortified with knowledge and confidence, you're ready to soldier on!

For the sake of the game mechanics:
1) Yes, you were up all night, but you took shifts. Everyone has had 8 hours of sleep.

2) Those still suffering from attribute damage heal up a little.

3) Those who were sickened by participating in the Kuthite ritual are no longer sickened.

4) Prepared casters can pick new spells for the day.

Cool?

Once you are ready, Stepan sends the party through the midnight mirror by uttering a command word while you stand near it.

New Map: The House of Night

A chain-bound mirror, identical to that in the basement vault of Boroi Manor, stands unsupported in a small, stone room. The frigid air is thick with a near impenetrable darkness. The only source of light comes from within the mirror itself, the flickering flames from the ring of torches pale silver, as though the illumination had to strain the color from itself to penetrate the darkness here.

Hm. This isn't an exact duplicate of Boroi Manor; you were just looking at a normal reflection before. Though, there are similarities. This room is a smaller, colorless reflection of A17 on the Boroi Manor map, though no ring of glowing sigils or torches illuminate the chamber.

From prior information, I believe the Baron's mirror is broken and we need to take a piece of it with us in order to destroy the one in this prison realm. So I will take that piece (more than 1 if they are available) before entering mirror.
I haven't had time to update my spell list yet. I will do that this afternoon.
