Bunk Envoy of Balance |
People is not taking into account my bless, I guess that means people won't read what others write.
And that is ok.
:^)
StephNyan |
Will; end of Pothes's turn: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Will; end of Shem's turn: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Both still blinded at the end of their turns.
Will; Lorenzo/blue: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Rowanna moves to the other side of the room and casts blindness on the bomb tossing man, who instantly starts screaming, "I can't see! I can't see!"
Round 2 [BLESS ACTIVE]:
Rowanna
Ragnorak 63/84HP
Holman
Pothes [Yellow] (Blinded)
Bunk 35/38HP
Livilla [Red]
Shem [Green] -41HP (Blinded)
Elliot
Lorenzo [Blue] (Permanently blinded)
Holman Nimblefingers |
Holman moves forward, drawing two more daggers and thrusting one into the agent he wounded previously.
Move action: As indicated on map
Standard action: Attack Shem
Attack (+1 Adamantine Dagger, Piranha Strike, Bless): 1d20 + 14 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 14 - 2 + 1 = 32
Damage (+1 Adamantine Dagger, Piranha Strike, Sneak Attack): 1d3 + 1 + 4 + 4d8 ⇒ (3) + 1 + 4 + (1, 5, 6, 3) = 23
Critical Confirm (+1 Adamantine Dagger, Piranha Strike, Bless): 1d20 + 14 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 14 - 2 + 1 = 23
Critical Damage (+1 Adamantine Dagger, Piranha Strike): 1d3 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 1 + 4 = 7
Raging Ragnorak |
@Bunk i run hero lab, so i 100% have your bless factored into my stats :)
Ragnorak roars in pain from the bomb blast, the pain fueling his rage as he unleashes a series of claw strikes on the two blinded soldiers in front of him.
If "green" is still up after Holman's attack then I'l start there with the first attack, If he drops then i'll switch to "yellow" with what ever attacks are left.
Claw attacks1: 1d20 + 13 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 13 + 1 = 28Damage1: 3d6 + 14 ⇒ (2, 5, 6) + 14 = 27
Claw attacks2: 1d20 + 13 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 13 + 1 = 23Damage2: 3d6 + 14 ⇒ (6, 3, 2) + 14 = 25
Claw attacks3: 1d20 + 13 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 13 + 1 = 20Damage3: 3d6 + 14 ⇒ (3, 5, 5) + 14 = 27
also i threaten the alchemist, so i believe i should have got an AoO? if so then my roll is below, if not then ignore
[dice=Claw AoO on "Blue"]1d20+13+1[/dice]Damage: 3d6 + 14 ⇒ (4, 5, 2) + 14 = 25
StephNyan |
@Ragnorak: I forgot about your orangutan arms!
Retroactive moment:
The moment the enemy alchemist tosses a bomb, Ragnorak hits him in the face with a claw.
Back to the present:
Holman moves forward while drawing two new daggers, one of which he stabs into the wounded enemy's throat. The man collapses onto the ground, a gurgling sound escaping from his mouth.
Ragnorak takes multiple swings at the other enemy in front of him. Two of his attacks are able to bypass the man's armor and wound him.
[dice=Ragnorak's round 2 AoO: Claw on "Yellow"]1d20 + 13 + 1[/dice] Damage: 3d6 + 14 ⇒ (6, 6, 6) + 14 = 32
The glitterdust covered man next to the frontliners tries to withdraw, but he's unaware of Ragnorak's long reach and provokes an attack. A single swing from Ragnorak's mighty arm takes him out.
@Ragnorak: Let me know if you'd rather not have used the AoO. I figured you would've, and decided to roll for it in order to keep the pace.
Round 2 [BLESS ACTIVE]:
Rowanna
Ragnorak 63/84HP
Holman
Bunk 35/38HP
Livilla [Red]
Elliot
Lorenzo [Blue] -25HP (Permanently blinded)
I flipped the pictures of Green and Yellow over and darkened them, to show they're downed. You can, of course, move through or stand in their squares now they've been taken care of.
Bunk Envoy of Balance |
Bunk channels positive energy, choosing his enemies out of its effect.
Channel Positive Energy: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 2) = 5
StephNyan |
Bunk channels positive energy, healing his allies while excluding the enemies.
With complete disregard of her downed allies the woman in the back casts a spell that sucks the warmth from the air in front of her. An icy cone-shaped layer appears on the floor, reaching as far as the eastern wall of the room most of you are still standing in.
Cold Damage: 10d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 1, 1, 3, 4, 4, 4, 1, 6) = 32
Elliot: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Holman: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12
Ragnorak: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10
The cold hits all of you full on, save for Rowanna; she happens to stand behind a wall and isn't touched by the spell. It's quite obvious the enemy woman just froze her downed allies to death.
Round 2 [BLESS ACTIVE]:
Rowanna
Ragnorak 36/84HP
Holman 35/67HP
Bunk 6/38HP
Livilla [Red]
Elliot 35/67HP
Lorenzo [Blue] -25HP (Permanently blinded)
Let me know if you have some cold resisting ability I'm not aware of!
Elliot Feardwarf |
Elliot steps through the door making room for Ragnarok and rushes accross the garden and swings his axe against the lady in red.
Waraxe vs. red + bless: 1d20 + 11 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 11 + 1 = 17
pretty sure that misses, but
Damage: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
StephNyan |
Elliot moves up to the woman and takes a swing at her, but he misses.
Despite being blind, the half-elf alchemist prepares to throw another bomb in the same direction as before.
Ragnorak's 2nd round 2 AoO: 1d20 + 13 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 13 + 1 = 30 Damage: 3d6 + 14 ⇒ (1, 1, 3) + 14 = 19
Before he can properly lit the fuse, Ragnorak gives him a whack that takes him out.
Round 3 [BLESS ACTIVE]:
Rowanna
Ragnorak 36/84HP
Holman 35/67HP
Bunk 6/38HP
Livilla [Red]
Elliot 35/67HP
Raging Ragnorak |
Ragnorak lumbers forward, his long claws dragging on the ground. He reaches out with one hand to grab the caster.
grapple: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (3) + 16 = 19 vs CMD
I dont have improved grapple so if she has a melee weapon out then she gets and AoO also i have the Disruptive Feat so it adds +4 to the DC of casting defensively in my threatened area
Rowanna Nachtalus |
Rowanna moves within 30 feet of the red woman and attempts to place a Misfortune Hex upon her.
She needs to make a DC 18 Will save or anytime she makes an ability check, attack roll, saving throw, or skill check, she must roll twice and take the worse result for 1 round.
Bunk Envoy of Balance |
Bunk creates another wave of warm positive energy, healing himself and those of the party, excluding the assailants.
Channel Positive Energy: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 5) = 12
Holman Nimblefingers |
Holman moves forward and stabs at the woman with one of his daggers.
Move action: As indicated on map (movement provokes)
Standard action: Attack woman
Attack (+1 Adamantine Dagger, Piranha Strike): 1d20 + 14 - 2 ⇒ (19) + 14 - 2 = 31
Damage (+1 Adamantine Dagger, Piranha Strike, Sneak Attack (Skirmisher)): 1d3 + 1 + 4 + 4d8 ⇒ (2) + 1 + 4 + (3, 4, 1, 3) = 18
Critical Confirm (+1 Adamantine Dagger, Piranha Strike): 1d20 + 14 - 2 ⇒ (12) + 14 - 2 = 24
Critical Damage (+1 Adamantine Dagger, Piranha Strike): 1d3 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 1 + 4 = 6
StephNyan |
Will: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (1) + 12 = 13
While Ragnorak moves forward and grapples the caster, Rowanna also moves closer and places a misfortune hex on her.
Bunk channels again, healing some of the party's wounds.
Holman moves up to the grappled caster and stabs her.
Quickened; Cast Defensively: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (13) + 14 = 27
Quickened; Cast Defensively: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (13) + 14 = 27 Equal rolls
Cast Defensively: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (14) + 14 = 28
Cast Defensively: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (3) + 14 = 17 <-- This one counts
The woman tries to cast two spells in rapid succession of each other, but both spells fizzle.
Round 3 [BLESS ACTIVE]:
~
Elliot 47/67HP
Round 4 [BLESS ACTIVE]:
Rowanna
Ragnorak 48/84HP
Holman 47/67HP
Bunk 18/38HP
Livilla [Red] -24HP
Elliot 47/67HP
Raging Ragnorak |
Ragnorak roars at her to surrender trying to use his fearsome size and presence to intimidate her.
Intimidate: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (16) + 23 = 39
Rowanna Nachtalus |
With the situation evidently under control, Rowanna cackles to continue her Misfortune Hex and waits to see if the woman surrenders.
Taking one move action to Cackle.
StephNyan |
@Rowanna: You used misfortune during your previous turn, therefor its effect stopped at the start of your current turn. There's nothing left to prolong with cackle. If you want to use cackle to prolong hexes that last 1 round, you have to use it on the same turn you use your hex.
"Effects that last a certain number of rounds end just before the same initiative count that they began on." - CRB p. 178 (Under 'The Combat Round')
You may retcon, if you wish.
The woman's visibly scared by Ragnorak's roar, but she gives him a defiant look.
Bunk uses another channel to heal himself and his allies more.
Round 3 [BLESS ACTIVE]:
~
Elliot 61/67HP
Round 4 [BLESS ACTIVE]:
Rowanna
Ragnorak 62/84HP
Holman 61/67HP
Bunk 32/38HP
Livilla [Red] -24HP
Elliot 61/67HP
Rowanna Nachtalus |
It would appear that by RAW you are correct, although I'm not sure I completely agree with the ruling. To keep things moving along however, I'll accept it and move on.
Delaying action.
Holman Nimblefingers |
Holman steps around the caster and attempts to perforate her with his daggers.
Not an action: 5' step, as indicated on map
Full-round action: Attack caster

Elliot Feardwarf |
Elliot strikes again with his weapon.
Attack #1: 1d20 + 11 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 11 + 2 + 1 = 18 Damage: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Attack #2: 1d20 + 6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 6 + 2 + 1 = 26 Damage: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
StephNyan |
With the woman grappled, Holman and Elliot are able to take her out with ease.
Combat's over!
of natural armor +1, a cloak of resistance +2, a ring of protection +1, the Mutani Manual of Martial Mastery, 3 violet garnets, and 50 pp.
Ragnorak... |
anyone mind if i take the wand of vampiric touch seeing as im the only one who can use it anyway, wouldn't mind that cloak of resistance +2 as well just to counter that will drain i took
Hey look there are 2 books!, HA! does that ean we get double the pay? Ragnorak says with a toothy grin Hey Bunk take my wand and heal me, They got a couple good shots off at me, not that i mind i'm kind of used to it being the biggest target in the room HAHAH
Ragnorak hands bunk his wand of CLW
Heal1: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Heal2: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Heal3: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Hmm i think there is still another room close by inside that we should check, just to see if that blasted pathfinder that started all this is there, I remember there being another door where we fought that coral beast, that we haven't checked yet. Perhaps we should check there before we go out side
Rowanna Nachtalus |
Vampiric Touch is also a Witch spell, but I don't mind if you take it.
"Odds are the book we found is the real book. The one the Aspis found is most likely a fake to fool us and them." Rowanna says with a small shrug, then adds, "Checking that other door first is probably a good idea."
Bunk Envoy of Balance |
"Rag and Rowanna are right." Bunk nods and scratches his beard. "But we should be careful. Something tells me this ain't over yet, my friends."
Ragnorak... |
Assuming the rest of the party agrees rag walks back to where they fought the coral beast and to the last door. Perceiving to see if he can hear anything on the other side.
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
StephNyan |
The opulent bedroom beyond the door Ragnorak opens, is fit for a king. The bed is enormous, covered in red and gold satin. Armoires and a dresser of the rarest wood line the north and east walls, and a great rug made of the pelts of several rare beasts covers the marble floor of the chamber’s northern half. Oil paintings in gilded frames hang on the west and south walls, portraits of various Druman notables painted by masters of the art. Comfortable chairs and a table of carved jade sit in the southwest corner. A thin door with a delicate woven screen occupies the center of the west wall, and to its right, a curtain of filmy red silk covers another doorway.
Ragnorak... |
Take 20 on searching the rooms for a 30
Rowanna can you see if the glass bottles and vials are magical, Holman can you check that wooden chest, we have the book so unless our pathfinder is in there don't take anything else.
Rowanna Nachtalus |
With a slight sigh, Rowanna casts Detect Magic throughout the room looking for magical auras. If she finds anything magical, she'll concentrate to discover the magical school and/or identify the object.
StephNyan |
1 = south // 2 = north: 1d2 ⇒ 1
You head back to the room with the fishy constructs, which immediately resume their act of following you around as long as you stay in the room.
You open the southern door and enter an elaborate kitchen outfitted for the preparation of sumptuous gourmet meals. Stone countertops and oak cupboards line the walls, and three iron stoves run down the center of the room. The place is thoroughly stocked with pots and pans, cutlery of the finest quality, and implements whose purpose can only be guessed at by those without vast culinary experience. Various barrels, jars, and other containers around the expansive workspace hold foodstuffs, though not in great abundance. There's a large trap door in the southeast corner of the kitchen, and it's locked with a padlock.
I took the liberty of moving you to the kitchen.
Ragnorak... |
Ragnorak watches Holman search the "trap" door for traps then is amazed at the speed of his hands as he disables the lock.
check for traps: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (4) + 18 = 22
disable dievice: 1d20 + 20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 20 + 2 = 37
StephNyan |
Thanks for botting, Ragnorak.
Bunk, Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Elliot, Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Ragnorak, Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13
Rowanna, Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Rowanna's able to detect a conjuration aura coming from the trap door. You all take a look at the trap door, but none of you sees any sign of a trap.
Holman has no trouble disabling the padlock keeping the trap door shut.
The trap door's still closed at this point and you're really really really not able to spot a trap, despite the aura Rowanna's detected.
Rowanna Nachtalus |
Since Rowanna knows there's something magic there, will you allow us to make Perception checks again?
"I could try to dispel whatever is there, but there's a possibility it might be beneficial. The possibility is low, but it exists nonetheless." Rowanna offers in an indifferent tone.
Raging Ragnorak |
In the interest of speeding things along, Rag moves everyone back into the room with the fish people, he then cast False life on himself
False Life: 1d10 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
He then goes back into the room with the trap door, rages and opens the trap door.
Elliot Feardwarf |
Elliot follows Ragnarok's instructions and moves back into the fish-people-room.
"Be careful with that. Magic is not a thing to play with!" Elliot warns Ragnarok.
StephNyan |
@Rowanna: I would've.
Everyone moves back to the room with the fish people, and a raging Ragnorak opens the trap door. A 10-foot-by-10-foot wine cellar is revealed. In the middle of the cellar sits a blindfolded and gagged man, tied to a wooden chair. He's clad in a fine silk kimono of a decidedly feminine cut, patterned with lilies.
Fort, Ragnorak: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (19) + 14 = 33
Fort, tied-up dude: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
The trap you knew was there but were unable to spot goes off, and a cloud of fog that smells like rotten eggs erupts from the cellar. Ragnorak's fine, but the man in the cellar starts making puking sounds.
Raging Ragnorak |
Ragnorak reaches down into the cellar hauling the man out of there and moving him back to the rest of the team.
I have a light carrying capacity of 612lbs currently :p
Bunk Envoy of Balance |
Raging "BULLDOZER" Ragnorak
Bunk runs towards the man and the barbarian, helping the last to untie the first.
"How are you, sir?"
Bunk pulls out his canteen and offers the man some water.
