Rathan Summercloak PFS |
Mumbling all sorts of not nice thins to himself, once again, the wizard tries to shoot a Ray of Frost at the man in the window. "Freeze."

The Broken GM |
Ennoia moves up and waits for Ravandiana to open the door, which she sees no indication of traps on. As the door opens the group sees two more Warhounders, standing ready to battle.
Rathan continues his doomed love affair with ray of frost.
Ennoia, Naiyra, and Eleanor are up!
Ennoia I'm treating you as if you have an action readied to move. Naiyra you may take your turn again since Ravadiana is ahead of you in init and opened the door.
Eleanor Lokrien Savet |
Eleanor moves quickly to find an allies side, looking for any persons who might be wounded, but as she peeks around the corner at the advancing thugs, think better and simply waits, casting and holding a cure light wounds until she finds someone in need. Mean while, she orders her wolf back on the bandit in the easternmost window.
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16

The Broken GM |
Song takes a bite out of the Warhounder, the fellow staggering and swaying on his feet, but still standing barely. He steps back and desperately fires at the wolf, before collapsing from his injuries.
In the tower the two thugs rush forward to swing at the ladies confronting them with their crude spiked gauntlets, but so woeful are there attempts that no dodging is required.
Song takes 2 damage.

Song is unable to reach another foe so move towards the fray preparing to strike when he gets a chance. Ravadiana darts around her foes to get behind them, but both her and Naiyra seem to have a burst of spontaneous incompetence their slashes going well wide of their marks.
Rathan though strikes the thug in the tower with a ray of frost dead centre of his forehead, the man staggers and collapses a layer of thin frost covering his face.
Ennoia is up!
Ennoia |
Not sure who is one what square, since the map seems not to fit the people on it. I'll take a 5-foot step then shoot at the least wounded thug.

Naiyra |
Naiyra deftly moves north and taking advantage of her agility starts a series of quick combat attacks.
Attack/Damage: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 181d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
The Broken GM |
Ennoia puts an arrow through the eye of the thug before her sending him crashing down onto the floor.
The other Warhounder lashes out at Naiyra and raking her shoulder painfully with his crude gauntlet.
Rathan sees another thug emerge from behind the tower, the man's eyes narrowing as he sees the wizard and fires his crossbow, the bolt whizzing over Rathan's shoulder.
Then a powerfully built mean looking man emerges on the stairs, his outline blurs and shifts, and he carries a shield and a flail - which he swings at Ravadiana. But the elf ducks, the flail striking sparks from the wall behind her.
"So you are the gits who've been getting in my way. Thanks for saving me the trip to murder you!"
Naiyra takes 5 damage.
Everyone is up! Please let me know if you wish to keep the same action Naiyra, Ravadiana your action is now invalid, you may choose whether or not you wish to keep your rolls.

"You will answer for your crimes against Absalom, Nessian. I am Ennoia. By the almighty Falayna, you will surrender or die."
Swift action: smite evil against Nessian. Moving inside then shooting at him

Naiyra |
"Nessain save us the trouble of killing you and surrender." she says as she she moves forward staring her attack sequence.
Attack/Damage: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 81d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Rathan Summercloak PFS |
Seeing someone coming towards, Rathan casts Freeze again.
Ray of Frost; ranged touch; dmg: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 161d3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
The Broken GM |
Nessian glances back up the stairs, his mind plainly racing, but then he drops his flail and holds his hands up - still holding his shield,
"Fine. I surrender," he hisses, clearly loathing the words.
Outside Rathan's ray of frost comes good again, but cannot quite down his foe.
Ravadiana and Eleanor are up!
Ennoia |
Ennoia still has one arrow ready to be let loose should Nessian be up to some mischief, as well as her righteous prowess.
"Very well, I accept your surrender. The justice of Absalom will decide your fate. However, you will reveal your plan - what did the ritual entail? What must we do to stop it?"
Then to her companions: "Half of us need to move up there now and stop whatever Nessian was attempting to do. I'll stay here with Naiyra, Eleanor and Song. Rathan and Ravadiana, you should go up there and check."
Naiyra |
"I didn't actually think him likely to surrender. It would have been so much more fun to kill him." says Naiyra with a touch of drama, still ready to deal with any sudden action from Nessian.
Ennoia |
"Let's be ready for anything that might occur." simply adds the aasimar, her eyes still piercing Nessian.
Sense Motive: 1d20 ⇒ 1 attempting to discern if he is truthful about surrendering. Ennoia should think he is, but would like to ascertain this piece of insight.
Eleanor Lokrien Savet |
"Perhaps it is worth a short discussion before any more blood is shed? He did order his men to stand down after all." Eleanor observes, using the lull in combat to get back to her group.
"What are your conditions of surrender, sir, and where is the book?"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
The Broken GM |
Nessian narrows his eyes, "I give you the book, I'll show you how to call of the undead, you just have to let me go. I'll leave the city, leave the island. We have a deal?"
Outside the final Warhounder heavily injured hears his master's cry and drops his crossbow lifting his hands into the air, looking somewhat relieved.
Yargos seeing this approaches and calls, "Don't trust the snake, he's renowned for his ruthlessness, I'd not want his villainy anywhere else. If we find the book I can use whatever signalling equipment he has to perform the abort sequence. I am sure of it!"
Naiyra |
"Or we could just kill you right now." adds Naiyra with a wicked smile. "Perhaps you should do as your are told and the matter of mercy remain between the gods and you. Now do as you are bid and you are less likely to meet your end screaming and begging for the embrace of death."
The Broken GM |
"Yeah, or perhaps you'll let me live, because you are a bunch of "heroic" fools, I'll get away and track each of you down and gut you in your sleep. Don't think you frighten me, I'm just not fool enough to think six versus one with an arrow in the chest is playable odds." Nessian hisses.
Eleanor Lokrien Savet |
Eleanor approaches the man, removing her manacles from her belt pouch, "Perhaps you should go ahead and let me put these on you. If everything you say bears out, then we will do our best to make sure you are not killed. Other than that, I am afraid the rest will be up to my companions."
As she approaches the man to apply her manacles, Eleanor orders her companion to menace the man. "I will try to get you into the hands of the Pathfinder Lodge. Your survival from here to there is probably dependent upon how much these people like you. A little caution goes a long way. Making death threats is not overly advantageous."
Handle Animal: 1d20 + 6 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 6 + 4 = 29
The Broken GM |
Nessian sneers, but extends his hands, "You do not release me, you'll never find the codebook. Eventually the undead will come and slaughter you all."
With the villains in custody you move up to the top floor of the tower, where you discover an array of coloured lanterns, otherwisethe room contains a few chairs, and a battered old desk.
Naiyra |
Wait."calls Naiyra. She carefully examines the area for traps.
Perception(Traps) : 20 + 6 + 1 = 27
Disable Device(Traps) : 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 9 + 2 = 13

Ennoia |
"Well done, Naiyra. Once again your prove the teachings of Falayna to be highly accurate." she proudly says.
The Broken GM |
Third time I've posted this, I apologize for the delay, but assume you are all aware of the problems the site has been having.
Yargos nods taking up the codebook, studying it carefully for a couple of minutes, nodding to himself. Repeating the sequence quietly as he moves to light and snuff a number of the coloured lanterns in a complex sequence. Once he is done he collapses down into the chair, closing his eyes and letting out a great sigh of relief,
"Thank you so much Pathfinders. Without you my foolishness would have caused thousands of deaths, as it is I shall have to live with the deaths of those poor priests of Abadar, but it could have been so much worse. I am eternally in your debt, and you can be assured I will report your heroics to your superiors and indeed all I meet. I doubt it will be properly recognized, but you have averted a great disaster, and Absalom to in indebted to you."
You return to the society with your prisoners in tow, and Yargos speaks of your deeds in glowing terms before leaving you to the Venture Captain. Nessian is eventually sentenced to death, and any of you who wish to may attend his execution, the remaining Warhounders are sentenced to tne years of hard labour.
You all earn the praise of Venture-Captain Adril Hestam, and the big man offers you all a glass of fine brandy to celebrate your achievements, as well as the substantial amount of coin the Society managed to get for the items you recovered.
Thanks for playing all! Chronicles should be with you shortly!
