Escape Route and Precise Strike are good options without any difficult prerequisites. Lookout is good once your wolf has the Int to take it as well, or once you can use Tactician as a swift.
Escape Route is very nice with some high-AC tanks to move in and establish a safe zone.
@Jeydavhu, any chance you might consider a caster? We're pretty martial-heavy at the moment. But if you want to go fighter I am sure we will be fine.

I am - almost done. Actually, I didn't change as much as I thought I would - little more focus on strength, and going to change my teamwork feat to something everyone can use, since I can share it - and the mounted one doesn't work well in this group. Any ideas?

It looks like Shake it Off will be the universal party feat... then Shield Wall... I also like Lookout and Precise Strike very much. A whole party on Lookout would be quite disturbing, and we'd probably need GM agreement on this (i.e. a whole party on Lookout means we pretty much always get a surprise round, as long as one of us is sneaking OR one of us spots the sneaking bad guys... it's epic).

Ok, making new character now... :)

Hmmm... do we have a cleric?

Cleric or bard would be great (and both can benefit from Shield Wall if that is of interest). We do have an Inquisitor.

Lookout was, in my actual PFS experience, useless. I don't recall my cavalier ever getting any benefit out of it (he and his horse both had it, and he had a very high Perception). Nearly every fight started with regular rounds. It may be the case that local GMs were not sticklers for the surprise rounds rules. Retrained it out for Escape Route.

Yeah, I'd agree with the value of a cleric or bard. Bard would probably have slightly more utility from a skill standpoint (especially for filling holes in knowledge), and it seems like an inquisitor can really fill most of the roles a cleric does, except for channeling of course. Bard would give us an arcane caster, which has been a big hole for us thus far.

Precise strike could be a good way for us to generate some extra damage, though Vindlér won't qualify since he doesn't meet the Dex requirement. I'm sure some of the others will be able to pick that up, though. Vindlér may pick up Lookout since he'll have solo tactics after level 3. That way the entire party won't have to take it, but he could still provide some buffs if we ever do run into a surprise round.

I had a whole post written up, that's now kind of irrelevant :). Welcome to the team though!

Right now, I think the two feats we should definitely all try to get if possible are Lastwall Phalanx and Shake it Off, as they both depend on the number of people with the feat and are very good. Lastwall Phalanx will come online later, however.

Assuming we last that long, Marcus may take Lookout at level 7, and a level of Divine Strategist cleric at 6 or 7. That will make anyone with lookout on our team unsurpriseable, and will allow him to aid another caster level/concentration checks for Berato and Vindler, up to +8 once we have rings of tactical precision. I am not sure what, exactly, a high caster level check helps with other than spell resistance, but it seems like we could find something good to do with it.

Guys... I just noticed that Anthys gives Shake it Off to everyone via his Tactician ability... so wouldn't it be better I take Shield Wall? (besides, I haven't used Shake it Off yet! LOL)

Using Tactician to grant Shake it Off is just 1/day for 4 rounds, standard action to initiate. So there is an advantage to actually having the feat rather than relying on Tactician. Shield Wall is also very good, but hopefully we will not have Berato on the front lines (though you can't always choose).

Ultimately (at level 3 that is) I will have both feats anyway. I'm just wondering what's better at level 1! :)

I'm actually gonna try to start tracking faction goals as well. Since I'm just starting on this, I think Vindlér gets a season 8 card. The goal I'd like to check off for this scenario, with your approval, Fez, is the following:

Season 8 Faction card wrote:
Defeat an outsider that has the evil subtype, an evil-aligned creature with the elemental subtype, or an undead creature whose CR is at least equal to your character level.

Basically, I just need to know if one of those ghouls was CR 2 or better.

Thanks for running! This one seemed to go by quickly. Was saving the Tactician ability in case we had another fight, have to be less shy about using it.

I may also start tracking faction goals for Anthys.

I'm tracking faction goals as well. I think it's fair to say we would qualify also for a tick in this box, no?

Accept the surrender of an enemy combatant (other than an evil outsider or undead creature), and ensure his fair
treatment until he can safely be released, ransomed, or delivered to authorities for justice. Alternatively, allow an
enemy combatant with no means of escape to flee without further harm.

Yep, we'll be moving onto part 2 after this.

I put up links to my google drive so you guys can copy the chronicle over for your records.

Arenzo was CR 2 so he counts for that goal.

Not sure if the troll counts as it wasn't really combative. If you guys had been more willing to include it in your attacks it would have been attacking back and then become an enemy. As it was it just wanted to eat the guy that kept eating it.

I've got your chronicles ready, I just need to get them on my google drive tonight.

Edit: The scenario ran quick because the second encounter is very...loose with how it needs to be accomplished, and the end sort of peters out because there's no set [McGuffin] to find.

Yeah that end scenario does have a pretty vague ending. When I played through this in CORE, it took us forever to decide what to do with the troll. I think the GM just ended up hand-waving it and saying we killed it after a while.

The second scenario in the series also ran pretty fast when I played through it before (again, in CORE). That group had a lot of the skills to run through some of the challenges, though, so we'll see if it plays the same way with a more combat-focused group.

Thanks for confirming the faction goal, Fez!

Progression check everyone!! :)

Can each player check the following list for our teamwork feats so we can plan a more 'teamworky' progression? :P

Feats to take: (based on existing selections by players)
(Anthys) Scion of the Lost Empire, Shield Wall
(Marcus) Scion of the Lost Empire
(Vindlér) Shield Wall
(Berato) Shield Wall

Feats NOT to take:
Shake it Off (everyone gets it via Anthys' tactician ability)
Cavalry Formation (everyone gets it via Quioté's tactician ability)

--> Outcome: it looks like Berato will go for Scion of the Lost Empire at 3rd level... are we all also planning to take Lookout down the road? very good 'all party' feat if you ask me, although the feat's usefulness hinges on having at least one very sneaky party member with that feat...

As I've said, Anthys's Tactician ability is very limited. I think other people taking Shake it Off is a fine idea.

Anthys might retrain his Tactician selection to Lastwall Phalanx at 3; unsure about that. When would Vindlér be able to take that one?

I never found Lookout to be useful in actual games; my PFS cavalier had it for like eight levels. There just weren't that many surprise rounds.

I can't take Lastwall Phalanx unfortunately, as I don't have the source book. :(

Shake it Off will definitely be on the list for Vindlér, though.

So...an anonymous patron gifted me the sourcebook for Lastwall Phalanx! First of all, I'm guessing it was one of you guys, so thank you!

Vindlér will be able to take the feat at level 5, due to the BAB requirement.

Same here... due to BAB... so:
3rd: Scion of the Lost Empire
5th: Lastwall Phalanx

I don't have the sourcebook yet, but I'm willing to get it when the time comes for Lastwall Phalanx. Marcus is going to go with two levels of Drill Sergeant/3 levels of Investigator as his first 5 levels, for a plan that looks like this right now:

Investigator 1: Point Blank Shot, Scion of the Lost Empire
Drill Sergeant 2:Quick Draw
Drill Sergeant 3:Covering Fire [Tactician], Shake it Off, Shield Wall
Investigator 4:
Investigator 5: Lastwall Phalanx, Investigator Talent: Effortless Aid

Covering Fire will let him Aid everyone's AC vs. a single target, and Effortless Aid will let him do it as a Move or Swift action. Scion, Shake it Off, Shield Wall and Lastwall Phalanx will be the feats I think that he just naturally shares with everyone.
