I completely agree with your direction. I cannot see Gwen attacking Absalom's guards for this, especially with how many of them are surrounding us... lol

I don't want to die...again.
Locke "Firebug" Arkham |
Ery, you mentioned force bombs earlier.
While i like the staggered side effect of frost bombs, i was considering force bomb later already, as there's little resisting that.
Bomb trips could be fun.
Eryzule, Lord of Tea |
Mhm...CC for the win.
Eryzule, Lord of Tea |
Its MMO speak for Crowd Control.
Urbar Anden |
Multi-classing could be fairly hard, but don't know if it's doable for a grenadier. Stealth could be real fun though! Sneak in, place bomb, move out and BOOM!
Tereze Amnell |
Wow I forgot how hard it is to be quiet and wait your turn....
<Sits quietly with hands folded waiting>
Locke "Firebug" Arkham |
What is hard, is GM'ing a monster that has eaten and digested a PC.
While the player is worried over what to do, it turns out to be all in their heads, and this you shouldn't reveal until the fight is over.
^_^
Eryzule, Lord of Tea |
No panic. Im alive.
Comp fried and school kicked up. If you would plz cpntinue to pretend ery is simy brooding and tripping people i would be greatful. New parts come in a week.
Gwendallyn |
Very excited about hitting 3rd level... Cannot wait for Celestial Obedience for Falayna... Gwen may or may not have a base grapple bonus of +12 without even counting her dan bong... +14 with that... and then a +17/+19 bonus to maintain the grapple (i.e. Pin)... *Coughs*
Tereze Amnell |
Glad to hear it Ery. I was getting a bit worried.
And Great Googly Moogly Gwen, that's impressive.
Gwendallyn |
Gwen's next target!!!! First it was the giant ape... next is a giant...
Now, that being said I don't plan on being a super one-trick pony. Gwen is super good at grappling, but I also want to keep my avenue open for exciting fun with Martial Flexibility. I had a lot of fun Disarming those guys with the Spiked Chains!
Urbar Anden |
I'm also excited for level 3 :)
Not sure of which feat I'm gonna pick but I'm thinking about bloody sabres. The bleeding attack sounds very awesome. Though two weapon defense might be better... I am even more excited for the 4th and 5th levels! At 4th I get a fluffy pet and at level 5 I can raise my fluffy monster to level 5! Imagine Urbar with a tripping flanking buddy! >:)
Tereze Amnell |
If it's tripping, I'm guessing wolf.
Are there any tripping cats? I thought they all had pounce instead.
Locke "Firebug" Arkham |
Looked, you're right.
That means a player ran his big cat incorrectly some time ago, he was using trip a lot...trying to anyway. :)
The number of aoo the cat would have taken...
Urbar Anden |
Can't imagine Urbar with anything less than a wolf :P I just noticed that all animal companions for the ranger lose their grab/trip abilities once they advance in level...

They don't. Only the changes are listed, but whatever they had before stays.
Take, for example, the rhino:
Size Medium; AC +4 natural armor; Speed 40 ft.; Attack gore (1d8); Ability Scores Str 14, Dex 14, Con 15, Int 2, Wis 13, Cha 5; Special Qualities scent.
7th-Level Advancement
Size Large; AC +3 natural armor; Attack gore (2d6); Ability Scores Str +8, Dex –2, Con +4; Special Qualities powerful charge (gore, 2d8).
Wouldn't it be weird for a rhino to have less natural armor when Large, and even weirder for it to lose its Scent special quality? In fact, its +4 natural armor increases by +3 for a total of +7 natural armor, and its Scent special quality stays while it also gains Charge.
Urbar Anden |
Ah yes, that makes a lot more sense! The small cat also looked a good companion to Urbar, but I think the wolf has the upper hand looking at his playing style.
Gwendallyn |
Wow, so I just looked over the changes in the Ultimate Equipment errata. Talk about effing things up... I was going to pick up the Brawler enchantment for Gwen's armor as soon as I could afford it in a few levels, but so much for that!!!! With the new change in cost I won't be able to afford it until we hit something around 12th freaking level!!!!! I really hate when the PDT takes things that are a little too good and makes them utterly worthless like that...
Gwendallyn |
I'd never seen that enhancement before. It seems quite good, but I feel like I'm missing something. Why is it so good that it has to be so expensive that you have to wait till, give or take, level 12?
Well it was initially a +1 bonus cost, which admittedly was probably pretty low for what you get; however, with the Ultimate Equipment errata released on the 19th it was raised to a +3 bonus cost. So now I have to save up 15k gold to be able to add that enhancement. Hence my irritation that, once again, the Paizo Development Team has taken something that was very nice and run it so hard into the ground that it becomes pointless...
I could understand it a little better if the enhancement affected more types of attacks or if you could add it to more armor types.
Tereze Amnell |
Level 3 hmmm. Time to really boost the heal craziness.
Perform(Dance): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23

Day job: Taking 10 = 17
Making Ery even more diplomantically capable. Skillfocus!
Boom, rocking a +13 now!
Eryzule, Lord of Tea |
Gonna fight us some kobolds!
Eryzule, Lord of Tea |
Its one of those... "Oh, man I wish I had burning hands to unbiasly scorch the earth... sorry team" Moments.
Tereze Amnell |
Kobolds might be interesting. Gwen and Urbar are optimized to take down big creatures not groups.
Swarms of Kobolds may cause us problems.
Gwendallyn |
Brawler's Flurry!! I'll have to find some good feats to use Martial Flexibilty on if we are facing hordes... Any suggestions???
StephNyan |
For those who want to go ahead and prepare their character for the next game, you'll get 467 gp and 1 PP.
The condition for the 2nd PP was incredibly lame: "Recover the Beacon of the North and deliver it to a venture-captain."
You chose the peaceful path and therefor you don't get your 2nd PP, which is something I think is quite stupid...
Gwendallyn |
Wow... Yeah, I agree that is utterly ridiculous. That is basically enforcing the murder-hobo mentality... Oh well. Gwen will now wrestle everything into submission with her new awesome +15 bonus to grapple! :O
Tereze Amnell |
I seriously considered grabbing the lantern on the way out... And not because I thought of turning it in, but because I wanted to trap them, but oh well....
Urbar Anden |
Even Urbar wouldn't have done that...
Urbar's gonna have a hard time with larger groups... Two attacks could take out two but it's kind of limited. I'll see if I can cook something up :P
