Remember, you need to put that lid before to use the cement and before a new creature or maybe more appear. To use the cement you can use Survival, craft alchemy or Knowledge (engineering) check.
Kyra channels her energy again and cure 1 HP.
After few seconds, Amiri put the lid on its place. But, just in time to block two medium creatures to come out. They are pushing it.
Amiri, str check to see if you can control them. The other guys can help her.
Harold Wainright |
"Keep your weight on it! We need it to stay put, whilst the cement dries..."
Erasmus frantically tries to apply the cement.
Craft(Alchemy): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16.
Mavaro, Collector of Esoterics |
Mavaro tries to climb onto the lid to help Amiri hold it down.
he's adding his weight as well as trying to push down:
strength, aid Amiri: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18

Adowynn |
Adowyn adds her weight though she doesn't weigh a lot, but will relinquish her position if she's in the way of someone bulkier.

You all keep the lid on the pit while Erasmus somehow uses the alchemical cement. After an hour or so you think it is completely sealed.
You return to Dr. Quolorum office. He can´t stay on one site, he moves constantly checking all your discoveries, while he talk to you. "What did you discover? Any useful information? What did you see? I hope you found something we can use to stop it."
Rivani the psychic |
Rivani keeps a calm demeanour but a tick in her eyes betrays an hint of anger:"The place was full of nasty critters. Strange deformed creatures and huge centipedes. They almost got the better of us! Besides that, inside teh structure there was a sort of well, full of other monsters. We sealed it with some alchemical cement we found. Aside from that... the Kellids clearly wanted to ward off something. The obelisk was warded with powerful protective magic and some strange signs resembling some sort of eye within an elongated hexagon. It was inscribed on both sides of the entrance and there were other signs around it. That's all I can remember, but above all... the place was extremely unpleasant and we risked our hides AGAIN!"
Good thing in PbP we can go back and check our previous posts... XD
Mavaro, Collector of Esoterics |
"Indeed, there was magic everywhere. The first room was full of all kinds of bones; some of them were painted red. The hole in the ground we found was where some humanoid attackers ambushed us from. There were more coming. I am unsure if the hole was a portal to somewhere or simply an entry to go deeper underground."

Dr. Quolorum stops suddenly to listen to Rivani. "Interesting! You found the Gorum’s Eye in that cave. I guess you should take note about it. This sign could protect you against whatever is causing the strange phenomena in the Hungry Mountains."
Dr. Quolorum takes his time to listen to Mavaro. "Well... I think that is just a pit that conect to underground. But, I am sure you did a good job blocking it.
"It is time you keep going. Your next stop is the University, my office. Hurry up."
Now, you are outside Dr. Quolorum’s office at the Sincomakti School of Sciences. Dr. Quolorum’s office is a single-story, 20-by-20-foot square building made of fitted limestone and covered in ivy vines. The door has a lock, but is swung partially open.
Rivani Knowledge (arcana): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Rivani Knowledge (history): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
Mavaro Knowledge (history): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
The Sincomakti School of Sciences was founded over 200 years ago. The professors who founded the school extolled the dual virtues of broad education and guarded ignorance, but rumors constantly swirl regarding the occult, forbidden knowledge often studied here.
Many of the buildings on campus have powerful magical protections enspelled upon the grounds ago at the time of the school’s founding.
Rivani the psychic |
"And what are we supposed to do in your office, exactly?" asks Rivani, actually sounding pretty wary.
Did we have the opportunity to rest and heal? Those who suffered ability damage specially need it
Once near the door the psychic briefly concentrates and opens it using her mind while keeping her distance
Open it using mage's hand, Rivani keeps away as much as possible from the door
Mavaro, Collector of Esoterics |
"The professor must be expecting us." Mavaro approaches the door and looks inside.

Amiri, Kinslayer |
Rivani, the 5th note from the beginning was for the University here. Its on the 'Maps and stuff' link, the last slide. Explains why he sent us here, anyway.
"He sent us, so doubt he's waiting." Amiri says.
"Though fetching some scientists lab experiment seems a waste of our time." She adds, with a dissatisfied scowl as she stops at the door.
Adowynn |
"If it's as simple as just grabbing the vial of herbicide and returning with it, why didn't the professor just fetch it himself? There's got to be more to this than meets the eye. I agree with Patros here."
Mavaro, Collector of Esoterics |
I didn't read the note first. In that case, Mavaro would be more suspicious/cautious and would have drawn his sword and activated Legacy Weapon in it

You all had the opportunity to heal your HP. Remember that you used one potion. About ability damage, you still have it. I don´t know if you have an spell or potion to cure it.
Rivani opens the door with his mind. The contents of the room float aimlessly about as if loosed from the bounds of gravity. A large oak desk spins slowly in the center, and a matching carved oak chair floats near the ceiling. The walls are lined with low bookshelves, but the books and countless other items that once rested there drift gently in midair. Ivy-covered windows to the west and east provide only dim light.
As Amiri said, please, read the letter in the maps link.
Amiri, Kinslayer |
We traveled from Dunhob to Rozenport from the last part to this... that's a couple of days hiking at least. I'd have imagined we'd have recovered some during that, would we not?
Amiri stares through the door at the strange sight and frowns slightly.
"Alright, so not completely normal." She admits.
Any sign of the purple stuff?
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
gfvelastegui |
8 hours of rest heals you 1 ability score damage. According to Amiri, you have traveled for 2 days. It means you have recovered by 2 the ability score damage. In this moment, I don´t have information about the distances between Dunhob and Rozenport, but I trust in Amiri.
Amiri can´t see what she is looking for, there are many things floating and moving around. It can be behind other stuff.
Mavaro, Collector of Esoterics |
"Time to go... Uh... Swimming?" Mavaro hesitates in the door way for a moment more before walking in to look for the vial.

Adowynn |
Adowyn looks in with a sense of wonder... "That's quite unusual... do you think we will float too, if we go in?"
"They're heeeere..."
Amiri, Kinslayer |
Mavaro stepped in =)
Amiri does not look at all interested in going into the room with all the furnishings flying around.
Instead she decides to stand vigil at the door, scowling into the offending room.
Though when Kyra suggests tying someone off and sending them in, the kellid woman volunteers to anchor the rope.
Rivani the psychic |
Seems like Rivani has a gift for the obvious then... XD
"No way of knowing what's causing this peculiar phenomena... but let's do it... what's the worst that can happen... right?" Rivani chuckless nervously.
Rivani gets herself bound and follows Kyra.
gfvelastegui |
Rivani and Kyra come into the room. They start to float and feels like they are swimming in the air. At the beginning, it is difficult to control their movements.
Kyra Acrobatics, Dex, Armor Penalty: 1d20 + 0 - 2 ⇒ (16) + 0 - 2 = 14
Rivani Acrobatics, Dex, Armor Penalty: 1d20 + 1 + 0 ⇒ (1) + 1 + 0 = 2
Kyra crosses the office and gets to the cupboard on the far wall. Unfortunately, the cupboard on the north wall is empty. When Kyra discovers this, a large tome bound in red leather flaps its pages and begins to speak. The tome is titled Collected Wisdom and Secrets of the Luralia.
A strong male voice "Hello, lady... What the hell are you doing here? May I help you? Let me alone, damn you..."
Then. a soft female voice "Sorry, madam... What can we do for you?"
Finally, a strong female voice comes out the book "Well, well, well... what are you doing here?"
The book is talking to Kyra.
Meanwhile, Rivani is trapped in the rope that lace her. She is in problems by herself.
gfvelastegui |
The strong male voice "Damn you, woman! Don't you see I am busy here floating?! Sorry, Sorry, I didn't want to scream at you..."
The soft female voice "Well, you can help us, so we can help you."
The strong female voice "We will tell you what happened here, if you tell us 3 things that are going on in the world... Out there..."
Mavaro, Collector of Esoterics |
Mavaro moves into the room without a rope, approaching the book and thinking.
3 things in general (wars, revolutions, etc.?) or 3 occult things, like our adventures so far
-Posted with Wayfinder
gfvelastegui |
Mavaro comes in and floats without problem to the book.
The book talking to Mavaro.
The strong male voice "Who the hell are and what are you doing here? I am talking to the lady."
The soft female voice "Welcome good man, can you help us with information about the world. We apreciate true information."
The strong female voice "Hahaha another adventurer comes to give us more information."
acrobatics + Dex + Armor Check Penalty: 1d20 + 0 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (19) + 0 + 1 - 2 = 18
Adowynn |
"Not a bad idea... " Adowyn starts pulling Rivani in carefully, trying to make sure the bea.. I mean rope.. doesn't cross with Amiri's.
Mavaro, Collector of Esoterics |
"Let me try to think of information you might care about"
can Mavaro make any knowledge checks to think of interesting information?

Adowynn |
"I'm pulling you back out Rivani! Hang on... I'll pull you lower before you get out though so you don't fall far if at all."
