Parry is indeed only if I am attacked.
With the request for more room to be made, Marcel shifts himself along the walkway, before swinging at the creature next to him.

Grimdoc swings his hammer but the water and the people in front of him seem to be throwing of his aim so it's a good thing he's aiming for a creature that can't see his weapon coming and he is able to hit it, shattering all of it's ribs..causing it to sink to the bottom. At the bottom a large anemoon start to move and slowly make it's way to the bloody corpse as if to check it out.
Shifting attacks from snowadder to another one
Snowadders arrows manage to make it through the doorway, but loose too much momentum when they hit the water and harmlessly bounce of the creatures (doesn't hit AC, with cover)
Calistan heals himself with his shiny new wand
With the request for more room to be made, Marcel shifts himself along the walkway, before swinging at the creature next to him, but both of his attacks slice through the water and make him misjudge his attacks against his target (both miss to hit AC)
I haven't actually seen a post saying that Samuel moved, so I'll assume he would take a 5ft step and go full defensive for now
Samuel creates room for more people to join in the fight.
Logain is quick to take Samuel's vacated space and manages to slice perfectly through the water and deliver a wicked cut that draws blood and saps the creatures strength (since it doesn't matter a whole lot, going with red for now) who seems to be effected by it a lot.
Both creature go for the one they are flanking

The one who is coated in a tin layer of ice is almost able to hit Logain, but his movement is just a tiny bit to slow and the tip of the spear is deflected by the shield in front of Logain.

With finesse and skill, Marcèl flourishes his sword, slashing a deep wound into the creature for his second attack, his first attack slightly shallow however.

Lacking a clear alternative, Snow Adder leans past Grimdoc and attempts to thread an arrow into the creature with the red amulet.

Marcel slices at the adaro in front of him in quick succession his first strike is deflected by the water but it allows him to compensate for his second attempt which deftly slices not only through the wall of water but also through the creatures torso causing it to drop dead in the water..trailing droplets of blood down with it.
Snowadders fires 2 arrows at his target Blue is down, I assume you mean green) but due to the akward angle at which he is firing the water absorbs to much of the arrows impact to be able to pierce the creature's skin
While Logain's attack fails to hit his target..but it still seems impressed by your display.

Snow Adder moves through his allies into the hallway clear of water. Focusing on the creature trying to slip away into the water, he draws back his bow for a single shot with a thistle arrow, making sure to place it so it punches through the wall of water, but the water slows down the arrow so much that it doesn't pierce the creatures skin.
Grimdoc then swings his lucern hammer at the creature and manages to get a very solid blow in , crushing the creatures skull and having it sink to the bottom of the floor.
Retrieving the spears the creatures carried doesn't seem worth having to go into the water at this point so you search through the rest of the room to find that the door to the south is locked (but doesn't seem trapped) and the door to the north looks like it can be opened (and also doesn't appear to be trapped).
Revvy Bitterleaf |
Deciding to go for the door to the north-west first you open it to reveal:
A T-shaped intersection, with 3 doors (one of which you just opened).
(So..you now have 3 doors to choose from, the one you lockpicked to open, and the one to the north and the one halfway through the corridor. also Samuel shows as having 10 damage in his statues bar..I think Calistan's life link should have taken care of that by now and transferred the damage to Calistan)
Samuel Deland |
Deciding not to over extend them, Samuel closes that door and moves back to the lock picked door.
"Hopefully this will be a single chamber."
Allowing the others to prep themselves he then opens it.

Revvy Bitterleaf |
Moving back to investigate the door which Marcel unlocked you open it see behind it:
This room is full of massive rusty cogs and enormous, toothed clockwork wheels that move in rhythmic, clanking "ticks" like a gigantic clock. The huge mechanism is powered by water streaming down into the buckets of a mill wheel. It pours from a chute near the ceiling in the northwest corner of the room. The wheel turns an axle along which most of the cogs turn. These cogs then turn other, smaller cogs and cams that seem to mark out time. At intervals, they trigger rods that direct water into channels in the floor, which run in various directions out from under the room through narrow gratings in the floors.
The groaning, squeaking din of this mechanism is deafening and constant, and a fishy carrion reek emanates from the water. The axle with all the cogs turns in two huge sockets, above a dark pool of water. Only the two largest cogs are big enough to be reach down into the water. A series of stone catwalks spans the room thirty feet above the churning waterways.
Marcèl Lebeda |
"Interesting, if I had to take a guess, I imagine that this room supplies water to other rooms, possibly including the one we were in earlier, what do you think would happen if we managed to stop it?" Marcèl ponders, glancing into the room. perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
Snow Adder |
"Might eventually drain it...or just turn the water foul. I'm going to have a closer look." Not seeing any immediate hazards, Snow Adder moves up onto the start of the catwalk.
Perception: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (16) + 17 = 33 35 for any humans
Will stop immediately if he sees anything.
Calistan the Wanderer |
Calistan looks about the fishermen's room with Detect Magic, trying to understand the enchantments and illusions in the place.
When the group moves on, he will follow, but wonders if he can steal the magic in the place like the owl room and the tree room.
Snow Adder |
"Ware the center pool. Something is moving, but I can't tell what it is. I can cover everyone if you want to make you way to the ladder."
If ok with everyone, Snow Adder will ready an action to shoot the creature if it threatens anyone on the way to the ladder or descending it.
Samuel Deland |
"Take it one at a time, it's less likely to notice smaller numbers."
Taking the lead, Samuel begins to cross, sword and shield at the ready.

Calistan the Wanderer |
Calistan will try to grab the magical item as he enters the water and swims towards it, trying to avoid the punctured bodies for the water-dwellers who tried to stab his friends.
Revvy Bitterleaf |
@Calistan; Sorry there's a mix-up about the room where the magic in the water was detected. The magic is coming from the new room. Not the one with the shark people, there's no magic there other then an overall illusion (which you get the impression is to make the area look a bit nicer/cleaner). I over looked you specifically mentioning the fishermen's room. And if you want to enter the water in that room..that will require swim checks and there's still the giant anemoon that's currently snacking on the corpses.
Samuel is able to the cross to the other side of the walkway without any problem.
Calistan the Wanderer |
Oh, ok.
Calistan points into the water and pulls out his wand of Cure Light Wounds and points to it and then back to the pool of water.
Samuel Deland |
"Sure."
Samuel sheathes his sword and shoulders his shield and descends the ladder as quickly as possible.

Grim holsters his hammer and makes for the ladder to climb down. Once there he will draw the Lucern hammer again.
The numerous cogs that make up the machinery in this room pose a serious danger to any who accidentally (or purposely in Logain's case) stray too close to the enormous contraption. Though walking across
either the ground floor or the stone catwalk is relatively safe and ensures protection from the spinning gears , any creature that falls (or jumps) from the catwalk either into the water or onto the floor below risks getting caught up in the deadly machinery as Logain quickly finds out as he drifts like a leaf through a shredder.

The cogs slice into Logain left and right
Damage Logain: 4d6 + 4 ⇒ (5, 6, 1, 1) + 4 = 17

A look of concern for Logains safety flashes across Samuel face.
"Logain, are you okay?"
Turning his attention to the others, the Andoran decides they should play it safe.
"Stick to the ladders, this place is too dangerous for any fancy maneuvers!"

"Ugh blasted hidden machinery!" Logain shouts and swears a few words in elven.
He takes a wand from his wrist sheeth and uses it on himself.

As he taps himself, the wounds start to close. The injury to his pride however, remains.
Brother Grimdoc |
"Whoa there Logain! Are you ok, bud? That looked right painful."
Grim starts to get out his wand to cure him, but sees he has a wand, so continues with his original plan to pull his hammer and look around.
"Pretty interesting machine here. But what does it do?"
Calistan the Wanderer |
You will heal 15 over three rounds from my Life Link, thus IH will have no time to do anything substantial.
Calistan moves into the room and stays on the walkway as he feels the gears slowly grind into his flesh over the next 18 seconds as Logain heals back to nearly perfect condition. He taps himself twice with his wand to heal the damage.
CLW: 2d8 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (8, 8) + 2 + 4 = 22
