Clandelve Hammerhand |
Checking in! Ready for action (except I need to add a wand of cure light wounds with some prestige...I suggest we all get one!).
I'm also going on a camping trip on Thursday and Friday, so will have limited to no availability those two days.
Otherwise, good to go!
Revvy Bitterleaf |
I was expecting more people who'd want to play so we would need some days to decided who'd want to join the dwarf party...but it seems not that many people like to play dwarfs or something ;)
But I think starting this weekend should be fine. A few more days to decide who will be in the party, some introduction posts..and then this weekend we can start with some more slaying whether that will be your slaying or mine we'll find out later ;)
Clandelve Hammerhand |
I agree that the rogue and paladin would be a nice fit. If Kalaron sticks around, that would be 5.
But yes, it doesn't seem like it would be that hard to find a dwarven cleric!
Kalaron Boulderstep |
Kalaron is here. I'll need to do my leveling up and purchase things like a Wand of Cure light wounds.....
Revvy Bitterleaf |
K, Clandelve should be back tomorrow
But if everyone is ready with updating their characters we can get started
We (The dwarf party) found out while exploring the Godsmouth Herresy that in large dungeons it helps to speed things up if you guys decide on some Standard Operating Procedures
-What's the formation for walking single file
-What's the formation for going through a wider corridor
-What do you do when you run into a door
That way I can move you guys along through empty corridors/rooms until something happens (and I'll know who will trigger what)
And if Heinrich selects an avatar I can get some maps up
Glorin Too-Tall |
Because I don't have Darkvision, and because I'm the tallest, I normally take a position near the back. That way, my light is less of a beacon for those ahead of me.
I also carry a dwarf key (crowbar) with me, so I'm happy to open doors.
Revvy Bitterleaf |
For those that haven't played with me before, I'll roll initiatives for everyone (so if someone has some weird abilities like roll twice, or give someone else a bonus on their init roll..let me know) and I'm fine with you guys go in order in which you post your actions - assuming that everyone else just delays until after your action.
If you want to wait until someone else does something first, just add it in your post as opposed to actually waiting for that person to post his actions. For example I will move there and stab that if I get flanking from someone..if for some reason your action makes no sense what so ever when it comes up you can change it.
I'll post a link to a google doc at the top of the tread for maps, you can move your own avatar, try to not move the map since that will mess thing up ;)
If you post from a phone or something and don't have access to the map..let me/us know and we'll handle it as best as we can.
Cogstadt Locksmith |
Cogstadt would prefer near though not at the front, so he can fire with his crossbow and watch for traps. He's not adverse to scouting ahead, but his stealth isn't particularly awesome, he's a locksmith, not a sneak.
Cogstadt Locksmith |
Hmmm, I assume order would be something like
Clandelve
Heinrich
Cogstadt
Buri
Kalaron
Glorin
double-file we can probably stick with more or less the same order
Clandelve+Heinrich
Cogstadt+Buri
Kalaron+Glorin
Doors, I assume I'll search them for traps & pick locks if required (unless we're in a hurry at the time) and then ready an action to shoot bad things on the other side as someone opens before stepping back and letting the melee folks in.
Of course this is all just suggestions, feel free to slap me for being too forward.
Kalaron Boulderstep |
It all sounds good.
Take note that Kalaron has gone slightly more defensive and is packing a Wand of CLW.
Dagger and Shield though I have a reach weapon to help out.
Glorin Too-Tall |
Dagnabbit!
I was out on the weekend, and had two days of heavy work beforehand, so I'm only now just getting online. Sorry, everyone!
Kalaron Boulderstep |
This goes out to all my games.
The worst has happened. The event that I've being dreading has occured. I'll be unable to post as I deal with the loss of family, namely my mother. I'm sorry for the lack of posting lately and truly am sorry for springing this upon all of you.
I'll be back once things have settled down more.
Glorin Too-Tall |
The past couple weeks have been tough on my posting, but I want to let you know that I'm getting myself back together to contribute once again.
And Kalaron, my condolences.
Clandelve Hammerhand |
Yes, losing a parent is very difficult. I've been there myself. Take what time you need, Kalaron.
Glorin, it will be good to have you back fighting at our side.
Kalaron Boulderstep |
Am Back... Slowly reading through to see what I have missed....
Revvy Bitterleaf |
As you've might have guessed by now ..once you figure out how to unlock this door you can continue down to the next level of Thornkeep so if everyone can provide me with their Dayjob roll (if they have any) and make sure their PFS number is available somewhere I'll start getting chronicles and the second level ready.
Just to check, everyone (other then Buri) is continuing with the next part?
And I got to play the third part myself last weekend (and half of our party of lvl 4's decided to run away about half way through it after we lost 2 of our 4 members) ..so if everyone is on board with that by the time we get there I'm planning to run part 3 as well.
Since everyone will level, feel free to start thinking about what you want to do when you level up so we can continue pretty soon after this
Clandelve Hammerhand |
Woo! Sounds great!
It might be nice to pick up a replacement or two if Buri is leaving. We have been a little short-handed at times, and the third part sounds absolutely deadly!
day job merchant: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
132,076-1
And thanks again for running these! Enjoying your scenarios immensely! I'm definitely in for more!
Buri Sunwalker |
This one gives 3XP, so you will be in the 2nd lvl after it. I have already done part 2 of Thornkeep so I cant continue. It was fun, thx for the game guys and good luck with the next level.
PFS# 35561-8
No day job.
Kalaron Boulderstep |
Day Job Profession (Librarian) 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (11) + 17 = 28
I'm good for level two. So I guess we Dinged?
Revvy Bitterleaf |
Since Buri will not join for the second part, I've set up a new thread here
Please go there when you are ready to move, I'll close this thread to remove it from Buri's active list once everyone made the move
If I did stuff correctly everyone but Glorin and Cogstadt (since I'm missing their reporting information right now) should have received a link to their chronicle
Clandelve Hammerhand |
Clandelve is leveled and pretty much ready to go.
The only question I had was in regards to spending Prestige. I see what you can buy in the Guide to Organized Play...are there other things you can buy, or is that it?
Having a great time with this...thanks for running it, Revvy!
Revvy Bitterleaf |
You can buy vanities (like a bar, a house or a boat..or even an island )out of the field guide if you own it, and I think the field guide also has some faction specific things you can buy.
But mostly people just tend to save up till they have 16 of them to pay for a raise dead in case they need it after spending a few of them on wands
Clandelve Hammerhand |
Okay, field guide sounds like something I need to get. Though I agree that 16 PP sounds like something wise to save up first!
Thanks!
Glorin Too-Tall |
I know everyone would say they're a waste, but I'll probably save up for corrective lenses (Goggles of Night).
(In the meantime, I'll keep a Potion of Darkvision on hand for emergencies.)
