One of the gentlemen standing in the lobby speaks up, "I heard that the owner, Oliver Cadmion, is evicting the dragons!"

Before he can finish, a lady speaks up "That's preposterous! He is just trying to charge them rent!"

A little boy tuggs at his mother's dress, "No no, I heard the Dragons want their cousin who is a real big dragon to come stay wit them," Nodding along with his story.

One of the servants looks to you guys, "I'm not sure what you're here for but the kitchen is temporarily closed for the moment. . in case you didn't notice,"

"Yes, we did notice" nods Fargrim kindly.

"We were curious as to why it was closed though. Wild rumours are flying faster than an arrow out there, and if you are not careful they may go far."

"what happened here?

The Servant, holding a silver tray tight against their body, "Yes well, I'm not sure what exactly the commotion is about, the Dragons seem to be in uproar about something and to top it off right now our Owner and the noble ladies Chef are arguing about something as well," She looks at you guys, some of her hair is sticking out in weird spots, she seems to be younger 20's and really not having a great day.

Carax tries to see what happened by examining the pseudodragons.

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14

After about a minute, the proprietor peeks his head out, and is alarmed to see you guys standing in the lobby, Looking to the servant, "Damn it Lahna, I told you to tell me when the Dragon Experts arrived!"

To which Lahna, the servant from earlier sputters a response, "I-I-I didn't know thats who they were, sir!"

The proprietor looks back to you guys before sliding out of the kitchen, "My apologies esteemed dragon experts, I, Oliver Cadmion, called you here because it seems something has my normally docile Psuedodragons in an uproar!" Ducking as a Psuedodragon goes tearing by through the air pulling some of his hair with it, "ah hah yes, but something has agitated them, and now they are flying into guests’ rooms and tearing apart their belongings. So far, no one has been hurt, but I worries the creatures may become violent—or worse, move out, which would be a disaster for my business."

Looking among the lot of you, "So if you wouldn't mind, please head up to the turret and find out whats troubling them so much,"

"Yes..." says Fargrim, giving the man a stern look.

"Let us see what is the matter."

She carefully follows the directions, heading up to the turret room.

Current Map

Designed to emulate Castle Korvosa’s Seawatch Tower, this turret is cramped but has a high ceiling, with wooden rafters crisscrossing overhead. Slim windows offer breathtaking views of the city and beyond. The furnishings are covered with drop cloths, which are themselves bedaubed with many seasons’ worth of dragon droppings.

As you guys enter the room a baby psuedodragon begins to squall, no doubt calling for its family.

Need perception checks from everyone before I can move on

"Watch out!" says Carax, moving to cover Fargrim's flank.

I'll be honest, normally I would roll these perception checks as the GM but I'm doing a psuedo check in as well :)

Does Fargrim's perception check above count, or would you like me to reroll?

"Hellooo?" says Fargrim, trying to keep the peace.

"We were wondering what has happened here and how we can help put things back to the way they were."

Yes it does :) I just worry, if its just You(Fargrim), Carax, Aramil and Ree left, I need to make the 4 part adjustment. This is basically just my last chance for Lal(Gray Sector) to come back and join the party

Hm, not sure where Ree is, thought for certain they were still around, guess I'll bot them for now, I'm booting Lal and giving you guys the 4 player adjustment :)

The Juvenile Hippogriff is riling up on its hunches, about to pounce, a gleeful joy in its eyes as it eyes its prey! The baby Psuedodragon continues squawking in the rafters as well, its chaos.

Fargrim backs carefully down the stairs, but makes sure she stays between the wizard and the fearsome beast.

"Woa... we just want to have a chat.... not a fight."

"Don't attack.. she says, realizing that even as she backs up the beast didn't really want to hurt her I hope

Carax approaches the hippogriff. "Easy, boy," says the cavalier. "Let's be friends... "

good job, the DC was 20 exactly!

Carax and Fargrim realize this baby hippogriff is just looking to rough house as only a lion with wings can and Carax is able to bat him around a bit before calming him down.

Just in time as the parent Psuedodragons fly up into the turret, responding to their babies cries of distress!

In your heads, via telepathy you hear the angerly, shrill but frightened voice "Are you the ones who stole our eggs?! We know our eggs are here somewhere in the inn but someone stole them! Was it you?? Back for our last one?!"

"No..." says Fargrim, sounding concerned.

"We have only just arrived and were trying to find out what the fuss was about. Are you sure they are not upstairs still - they didn't get misplaced during the excitement? Do you know anything about who stole them or how long ago?"

Make me a diplomacy check with that as you try to talk some reason into these frightened parents.

Fargrim tries to calm down the agitated pusdo-parents.

That's enough to calm down 'em down, it is the 1-2 tier still :)

The Three adult Psuedodragons, calm down and land on the couches to talk with you guys, "Well we saw the guy sneaking around up here and then our eggs went missing! He was dressed really well and had a big floppy white hat and smelled of flour and spices, he must have hid our eggs! We can smell them in the inn but just can't find them!"

"We'll go look." promises Fargrim.

She heads downstairs and hunts out the cook.

"Hi there... I think there has been a bit of a misunderstanding"

She starts out. "[b]It seems that the psudo dragons saw you or one of your kitchen hands taking their eggs, and obviously it must have been a mistake, as you wouldn't want Psudo dragon eggs, would you? If you could check your egg supplies it would really help settle the little fellows down."

She sighs "If they don't settle down, the customers will leave, and you'll be out of a job.." she adds, trying to keep her voice concerned, not threatening.

Aramil turns to the staff as well. "yes please help us find the eggs. If you can!"

Fargrim, explaining the situation to Cadmiom, the propietor, "Oh my, one of my staff stolen the eggs? Preposterous! We all love the dragons, they are the only reason we still are around!" Looking around at the kitchen, "but please, if that's what the dragon's say, take a look around,"

As you guys are searching the kitchen, in slinks a brown haired man wearing a flopping chefs hat with a large bushy mustache, whispering to your group, he looks particularly shifty "I don't know what Cadmiom has offered you but I'll double it if you agree to fetch me the last egg from the dragon's nest,"

Fargrim stops short and glares at the man.

"You don't have that type of money. And if you did, I still wouldn't take it. Hand over the other eggs. NOW

intimidate: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16

If he doesn't, still start a detailed search of the kitchen for them.

Aramil looks around the inn as well.

Carax wordlessly backs up Fargrim's threat by standing very close behind the mustached man.

As you guys shake him down, the man sputters "I-I-I-I promised my mistress she could have a rare delicacy, a Pseudodragon Omelet du fromage!"

As you guy search the kitchen, you find two speckled eggs the size of a chicken egg stashed behind some other food items in a cupboard.

The cook, Craik, looks around "I-I-I don't know how those got there!"

Ree finally gets past the madness going on all over this place and rejoins the group (sorry family emergency part 2 but should be back now).

"If we tell the dragons, think this chaos will stop??"

Fargrim looks sickened at the man.

"That is good to hear. But I would suggest you look elsewhere for employment, as the dragons remember you and won't take kindly to your staying here any longer. As for your mistress, use regular eggs, she won't know the difference."

She steps down to pick up the eggs, and then remembers she is perhaps not the most agile person in the group. "Maybe one of the rest of you should carry them?"

Heading upstairs she calls out. "Hello there! We have found them for you. Apparently a bit of a mistake, one that we have suggested should not happen again."

Since Ree was kind of useless over the last bit, she'll volunteer to carry things and will resist the urge to juggle them.

Returning the eggs to the overjoyed Psuedodragon family, they fly to their roosts returning the eggs to the nest and seem to chitter and chatter among themselves for a bit before the three parent Psuedodragons and the small baby psuedodragon fly down. The Baby Psuedodragon landing on Fargrim's shoulder, wrapping its tail around her neck it nuzzles in her hair.

The Psuedodragons, via telepathy, "We thought the fates were punishing us by having our eggs stolen, we stole this baby Hippogrif from his nest and have raised him as our own but perhaps it is time for us to give back to the world now. This youngling has only just hatched and doesn't yet have a name for herself, we ask that you please take her with you, care for her and befriend her,"

Good job you guys will get a very special boon on this chronicle sheet :)

Cadmiom, the owner of the Inn thanks you guys profusely for saving his Inn. "That chef wasn't even one of mine, the bastard, he came with a Lady Qualstair, after she found out what happened, she fired him quite publicly. Now is there anything else I can do for you?"

"Do you know where we can find a new band of Varisian travelers in town?"

Carax describes the old fortune teller they seek. If Cadmiom doesn't know how to find her, Carax turns to his companions and says. "The only thing left is Traitor's Mews."

"What an odd thing to request." notes Fargrim.
"Is she still here? Her man said she wanted an omelette made from them, which seems bizarre, and almost guaranteed to stir up trouble."

She nuzzles the baby Pseudo dragon back, "Why, you really are a charmer!"

To Carax
"I think you are right, but let us talk first with Lady Qualstair."

Aramil smiles and turns to the dragons.

"What a cute baby. thank for you letting us care for your young!"

Cadmium, the owner, gives you guys a Golden Unicorn sculpture worth 500 gold pieces, scratching his head, "The only Varisian travelers I've seen was a fortune teller who dropped off those pamphlets there for the Green Market, she raved about the place and then left,"

"Looks like someone is trying to cost Zeta a lot of money." notes Fargirm. "Unless this is some type of special deal. "

"A trap for Foxglove? Offering free samples when she's not planning on doing that to make her look bad or maybe to overcrowd her market with people for some other evil purpose?"

Cadmium and the one of the adult Psuedodragons mention, "Betrayal hunh and these are all ill omens of some sort? Well the most famous "Betrayal" is the story of Lord Amrys Viamio. His treachery during the Cousins’ War earned him a beheading." the Psuedodragon continues, "Rather than demolish the house they left it up to rot to pieces, now its mostly inhabited by vagabonds and homeless,"
