with apologies, Urktar's gotta be Urktar

Urktar doesn't wait for the others. As soon as he sees the Zombie step out of the gate, he let's out a bellow and charges it, bringing Bert to bear as soon as it's within reach.

Kevin and Siddhārtha move up to join Uktar who does not wait, simply charging through the curtain into the strange portal room. Just before Uktar reaches the undead minion, suddenly he is blasted with an explosion of bright, multicolored lights, and feels magic trying to invade his mind.

Uktar; Will Save DC 12 (Magic, Illusion) <Negates>:
Failure means you are Blinded and Stunned for 3d4 ⇒ (1, 2, 1) = 4 Rounds, and then Stunned for 1 extra Round. Success means you push it aside, dropping the zombie in one solid blow.

The woman attached to the different inky umbilicals then sends a single small stream of acid flying like a small snowball at the Half-Orc, but luck is on the warriors side and it misses.

Uktar manages to brush aside the magical assault, following through with an attack the destroys the undead on the spot. Kevin, hoping that this allows him a chance to come in closer to examine the area does so unmolested, but isn't really able to ascertain anything.

Siddhārtha, seeing the possibility of a threat from whatever lay beyond the gate of stars, unleashes a small blast of magic, aiming it at the umbilical latched onto Imrizade, and it hits home with devastating effect. As the magical force slams into the tentacle, everyone hears something scream, but only within their own minds. Some dark entity's cry of pain touches upon your own minds, and in doing so, you know that somehow, you need to severe Imrizade in order to stop it. Siddhārtha's magic blasts the tentacle, but it remains attached, albeit only hanging limply by a thread of inky blackness.

Suddenly you head Imrizade speak, or rather command. The voice comes from her body, but it is not her voice. Instead it is distinctly male, and speaks in an ancient dialect, "Krama-ckya Notcht myaa! Slogh-Oh, meeshka anktk."

Ancient Osirionai:
Bow before your master, worms!

Suddenly another tentacle appears, shooting out through the portal to strike at Urktar, delivering a minor slap to the barbarian's face, but it also carries with it the spark of magic, but luckily Uktar is able to avoid being touched by what might have been a more devastating, magically induced strike.

There seems to be some sort of invisible, but very tangible barriers protecting both the corpse of Imrizade and the umbilical tentacles leeching off of her still living and healthy body, as both Boni's and Urktar's attacks, which should have been easily successful seem to strike something and are diverted. quick questions for clarification:
Can we attempt to sunder the tentacles? I.e. go after CMD instead of forcefield armor or whatever?
Is the cylinder attached to anything--the gate, the tentacles??
Is the cylinder glowing or appear to be doing anything, or is it just sitting there?
The male voice is definitely coming from Imrizade?

Yes you can. Despite the description, that's actually what I've already been doing it, when applicable. Your attack simply missed, and other have not been enough to actually destroy any of the tentacles just yet, (although after this coming update, that will likely change).

Urktar wrote:

The cylinder is just sitting within a small groove within the large radioactive gate. As far as you can tell it is not attached to anything.

Urktar wrote:

It is literally just sitting there. Although, a Detect Evil or Magic might show otherwise.

Urktar wrote:

Yes. Her body/corpse is making the motions, but a male voice, speaking in a very archaic, (and likely unknown) language.

Also, at this point, I've received no word from Hikaru, so to help me avoid confusion and waiting on them in the future, I'm just going to remove them from the Init and the map.

Siddhārtha sends another barrage of agical energies flying, each slamming into the weakly hanging tentacle that seems to be locked onto the back of the dark skinned Blakros woman's head. As the magical bolts connect, the umbilical seems to die, shrinking and rotting within seconds before falling to the ground and fading away back into the portal.

Imrizade closes her dead eyes, concentrating for just a moment on summoning magical energies to unleash as she wills it.

Imrizade's spell fizzles as Urktar slashes into her defensively, leaving a blood gash across her chest, though it seems to begin to "heal" rather quickly. Small tendrils of the same inky black material forming the four remaining tentacles seems to begin to stich the wound back together, and Imrizade's body itself seems utterly unreactive to the attack, neither showing signs of pain nor anger, almost as if she where simply a puppet.

Kevin moves over to the strange cylinder, grasping it despite reservations of touching it's slightly glowing surface, but it seems somehow stuck. You see nothing holding it, but the cylinder does not budge.

Siddhārtha and Bonifacius each continue their work on the umbilicals, though Sidd's magic seems a very ineffective tool for the job, it doe sstrike, but just does not seem to be doing very much to them. Bonifacius however, easily slices through another, now leaving only three remaining. A dark, thick, viscous fluid begins to leak from the wound from where the tentacle had just been attached, and somehow, Imrizade now seems, . . . weaker.

A loud, male voice screams, again in an ancient, unknown language, though you are pretty sure what it means this time, screaming in rage, FOOLS!. However, this time it comes from somewhere near the cylinder, and not from Imrizade's corpse.

Suddenly, surprisingly, Imrizade seems to be pulled back, shifting just out of your immediate range and focuses her attention now squarely on Kevin, sending a pair of magical bolts his way.

For just a moment, it seems that there is a bit of life in the young halfbreed woman, as she struggles to whisper, "The jar". Just as she does so, you begin to see a sort of halo forming around her, only to realize it isn't a halo or aura at all. There is another figure standing there with her, an ancient ghostly male, vaguely resembling an ancient Osirioni ruler from what bits you can make out.

It must have been his voice, and you suspect that destroying the tendrils from some other, darker plane may be weakening his hold over the young Imrizade Blakros, but her fedom seems to lonely last for but a moment.

Kevin takes a moment to try to heal himself while Urktar and Bonifacius each attempt t sever another of the strange otherworldy tethers, but neither seems able to connect. Siddhārtha's magic, however, strikes unerringly, and this time outright obliterates one of the remaining cords, leaving only a single one left. As it is destroyed, you do notice it seems to also have a very obvious effect on Imrizade, who grows even more pale, wincing in pain, and grabs some of the very open wounds that the prior tendrils have left on her body, now that she is able to.

The ghostly figure then begins to move towards Kevin, an obvious look of wrath and rage in his sorcerous eyes.

As the last umbilical is severed, Imrazade screams in pain, both physical and psychic before suddenly slumping to the floor, motionlessly.

There is a catastrophic backlash of otherworldly energy as suddenly the ancient looking Osirioni ghost is obliterated, erased from existence and the portal, only partially open first seals, and then begins to crumble in on itself, the massive glowing green metal frame cracking and bending and the tumbling to the ground. With the ancient aberrant sorcerer, who you later identify as Kubburum Ishmedagan destroyed, the Gate of Beyond is demolished and Imrizade is freed from his control.

With quick response, you find that Imrizade is still alive, but only barely, and it takes all of the life saving techniques you can muster to pull her back from the brink. She still retains her aberrant bloodline, however, and is plagued afterward by strange dreams of nightmare vistas and bizarre beings from the Dark Tapestry.

When all is said and done, you, (not the Pathfinder Society), earn the gratitude of Nigel Aldain, the powerful Blakros family, and Imrizade herself, who happily turns over the Osirian artifacts she collected, and grants the Pathfinder Society unrestricted access to the Blakros family archives.

The Pathfinder Society eagerly accepts any information you acquired about the Gate of Beyond, as well as any relics recovered from the basement. Some time later, each of you begins have odd nightmares of your own, visions of an ancient mage, hellish realms, and oddly, a great tower, with blackened stone that looks very similar to the Blakros Museum. . .

Just wanted to say, in case I forgot, you are all most welcome.

I just wanted to give everyone a head's up, I've just emailed Paizo again in regards to shutting this thread down now that the game is over. I'd also like to point out that I keep all the Chronicle Sheets active indefinitely, so if you loose your sheet and need another copy, you can also trace back to this game, use the same link and simply download another copy.
