"Twisting typhoons, I feel like being cooked from the inside out!", exclaims Scuttlebutt when the profane energy washes over him. He then steps into the courtyard while singing his song's next chorus, drawing his hand crossbow on his approach. He looks at the surrendering enemy and says, "Hey, buddy, the authorities are on their way. Perhaps you'll want to throw in with us to end this and we speak up on your behalf?"

Free action to maintain bardic performance, move action step into the yard, standard action to draw hand crossbow.

@all: Sorry to have been silent for so long. Seems like I bit more than I can chew with participipating in three games simultaneously and underestimated how that would clash with my time at the moment.

No worries, Azadeh- experienced the same thing myself not all that long ago; welcome back though. :)

If he does end up helping us out with Runa, it'll be awesome; maybe he could be convinced to work with the dark archives too?

During the 3rd round of attacks, as Minuro/Thundercloud was listening in to the unearthly shadowy whispers from his final Shadow Speaker ability, one of the voices he heard whispered to him was this tiny, plaintive echo of Are you sure that you don't want to drink up that Potion of yours before you attack? Naturally, Minuro/Thundercloud ignored that unsought-for advice as he made his unsuccessful attack.

When the robed man, Lazar, returned that failed attack attempt with yet another Magic Missile strike, Minuro/Thundercloud, as he was stumbling back and away from the open window, thought to himself, I should've drank that damn stupid potion!

Since Minuro/Thundercloud is exactly at 0 HPs and can be considered disabled/staggered, during round Four, Minuro/Thundercloud will move away from the window as his move action, on round Five, he'll take out the Potion of CLW as his move action, and finally at round six, he'll drink that potion.

Round Six Potion of CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6.

Azadeh shrieks with pain when the negative energies flowing through her body lets her muscles spasm. "You'd kill your own companions? You don't deserve to live." she presses through her teeth, mustering all the concentration to answer that attack with another hail of stones.

earth blast: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8 damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

But the pain pierces her willforce and the stones drop harmlessly to the ground before they even reach the witch.

Heavily wounded the Vigilante known as "The Thundercloud" is forced to heal himself using a potion. He feels way better after gulping it down though.

When you are disabled you can only take one standard or one move action (and a standard action deals 1 point of Damage to you). I had Minuro drink the potion and recover hps. He's in the open though

Scuttlebutt tries to convince the wizard to change sides but the man seems unconvinced, especially after withnessing the bard take out his crossbow.

Give me a diplomacy check if you want to try swaying Lazar

Azadeh tries to counterattack the woman in white but her aim falls short of her mark.

Aaaannnnd Scuttlebutt is likely splattered with bits of innards again, along with a few blocks of this neighborhood of Trollheim...

But the good news is, no more negative channeling!

With Hjort and Runa dead the wizard surrenders allowing himself to be taken into custody by the guards.
You are allowed to question him and it turns out he knew very little about his employer's plans as he was just an hired mercenary.
Fortunately the woman named Runa White carried several damning documents with herself. Through them you are able to piece together the reasons behind Hjort's enmity against the Society. A few months ago Hjort's home village, a small hamlet on the coast belonging to the Blood Ram tribe, was sacked and destroyed by a contingent of Runa's compatriots. Hjort was the only survivor and, finding a wayfinder among the ruins, he swore revenge against the Society, believing Pathfinders to be responsible for the slaughter. In truth the Society was framed by Runa and her people and Hjort's fortunate survival meant they could use him to discredit the Society even more. Runa contacted Hjort claiming to be a former Pathfinder with a bone to pick with the Society. She told him about Rognvald Skagni, an expert historian on the three nations of northern Avistan west of the Worldwound—the Lands of the Linnorm Kings, Irrisen, and the Realm of the Mammoth Lords. Skagni was a steadfast ally of the Society and by kidnapping him Runa and Hjort assured that Pathfinders were sent to Trollheim to investigate his fate. Runa's plan was for Hjort and her mercenaries to kill the Pathfinders and then discredit them in Trollheim causing their expulsion from the city.Runa was not the mind behind this plan though as she took her orders from a man named Caggrigar and his man in Irrisen, the shadowy Vermund.
All in all things look bleak but there's a silver lining: apparently Rognvald Skagni is still alive and a prisoner in Irrisen. You can still complete your mission, although it will require more travel than you initially anticipated!

Congratulations! You completed the scenario. I'll make sure to prepare the CS for tomorrow. I also plan to continue with this trilogy (and possibly keep going with other scenarios), let me know if you wish to keep going!

Sounds fine by me; either way, he's not staggered anymore. :)

"Maybe those guards that Etude bought over will know of a place where we could go and pick up some of those potions."
