Oh hi.

EDIT: Ive got an animal companion. What's the easiest way of showing her stats and stuff?

| AbadarCorp Entertainment Official GM | How is my flying? | DICEBOT LOVES YOU |Starship combat cheat sheet | STEAL THIS TEMPLATE | Traveling until Jan 3, reduced posting frequency expected

Right now, we have level 5 and a level 6 character, so the 5-6 subtler seems most likely.

If we go 5-6 then I'll most likely bring in my dwarven crossbowman.

I still need to update her, but Elena (Revvy Bitterleafs character) should be lvl 6

I have a level 5 alchemist that just opened up for play, if there's room.

There's still room. We have one more spot open after you join, so welcome on board. Regardless of whether we'll fill that spot, I'll open the game either tomorrow or late today.

Question: Ive got an animal companion, what the easiest way to represent her in-game? At the moment she's in a stone ball via the Carry Companion spell.

Also, I tend to buff her quite a lot through various means, what is the easiest way to reflect this in her stats? (Size increases, bonusses to next X d20 rolls, statis bonusses to attack/damage)

| AbadarCorp Entertainment Official GM | How is my flying? | DICEBOT LOVES YOU |Starship combat cheat sheet | STEAL THIS TEMPLATE | Traveling until Jan 3, reduced posting frequency expected

The animal companion gets a separate icon once we're putting tokens on the battle map. For now, it would be useful to have stats for the companion alongside your own in the header line. You can put common buffs there as well (e.g.: AC 14 (Mage Armor: 18) )

Some people use spoiler tags: one for their own stats, the other for the companion.

Moved my question here, since it's not something to discuss in gameplay

Shadow Lion wrote:
FYI if you grab on the first attack you immediately gain the grappled condition and forfeit any remaining attacks this round.

Just wondering, where are you getting this from? I can't seem to find anything that being grappled stops you from making more attacks (it prevents you from taking AOO's) and you get a -2 to attacks..but that's it as far as I can tell.

Grappled:
: A grappled creature is restrained by a creature, trap, or effect. Grappled creatures cannot move and take a –4 penalty to Dexterity. A grappled creature takes a –2 penalty on all attack rolls and combat maneuver checks, except those made to grapple or escape a grapple. In addition, grappled creatures can take no action that requires two hands to perform. A grappled character who attempts to cast a spell or use a spell-like ability must make a concentration check (DC 10 + grappler's CMB + spell level), or lose the spell. Grappled creatures cannot make attacks of opportunity.

A grappled creature cannot use Stealth to hide from the creature grappling it, even if a special ability, such as hide in plain sight, would normally allow it to do so. If a grappled creature becomes invisible, through a spell or other ability, it gains a +2 circumstance bonus on its CMD to avoid being grappled, but receives no other benefit.

Grab:
Grab (Ex) If a creature with this special attack hits with the indicated attack (usually a claw or bite attack), it deals normal damage and attempts to start a grapple as a free action without provoking an attack of opportunity. The creature has the option to conduct the grapple normally, or simply to use the part of its body it used in the grab to hold the opponent. If it chooses to do the latter, it takes a –20 penalty on its CMB check to make and maintain the grapple, but does not gain the grappled condition itself. A successful hold does not deal any extra damage unless the creature also has the constrict special attack. If the creature does not constrict, each successful grapple check it makes during successive rounds automatically deals the damage indicated for the attack that established the hold. Otherwise, it deals constriction damage as well (the amount is given in the creature's descriptive text).

Creatures with grab receive a +4 bonus on combat maneuver checks made to start and maintain a grapple.

Unless otherwise noted, grab works only against opponents no larger than the same size category as the creature. If the creature can use grab on sizes other than the default, this is noted in the creature's Special Attacks line.

Format: grab; Location: individual attacks.

Format: grab (Colossal); Location: Special Attacks.

Pounce:
Pounce (Ex) When a creature with this special attack makes a charge, it can make a full attack (including rake attacks if the creature also has the rake ability).

Format: pounce; Location: Special Attacks.

Combat Maneuver:
When performing a combat maneuver, you must use an action appropriate to the maneuver you are attempting to perform. While many combat maneuvers can be performed as part of an attack action, full-attack action, or attack of opportunity (in place of a melee attack), others require a specific action. Unless otherwise noted, performing a combat maneuver provokes an attack of opportunity from the target of the maneuver. If you are hit by the target, you take the damage normally and apply that amount as a penalty to the attack roll to perform the maneuver. If your target is immobilized, unconscious, or otherwise incapacitated, your maneuver automatically succeeds (treat as if you rolled a natural 20 on the attack roll). If your target is stunned, you receive a +4 bonus on your attack roll to perform a combat maneuver against it.

When you attempt to perform a combat maneuver, make an attack roll and add your CMB in place of your normal attack bonus. Add any bonuses you currently have on attack rolls due to spells, feats, and other effects. These bonuses must be applicable to the weapon or attack used to perform the maneuver. The DC of this maneuver is your target's Combat Maneuver Defense. Combat maneuvers are attack rolls, so you must roll for concealment and take any other penalties that would normally apply to an attack roll.

It's not that you need to use an action for the grab..it's free as a addition to the attack(s) you are making ..so as far as I can tell you can make all your attacks..you just might get a penalty on your later attacks if one of your earlier ones manages to grab hold as far as I can tell

I can't seem to find a FAQ that this is changed..so just wondering where to find the ruling on this

Aasimar Dual-cursed Oracle 12

It should allow me to finish my full attack, you can full attack with natural weapons while having the grappled condition.

Id rather not spend all my daily resources now if it means I can't one-shot it :P

I also see that I forgot two atack rolls for the rake attacks

I went back and read part of the grapple rules since I was going from memory. There is a part that talks about using light one handed weapons but it does say you still get a full attack and natural weapons are considered light weapons.

And I immediately believed any reference SL makes to grappling. You should see this guy's grappling specialist half-orc :-)

We're in the big final showdown! If you would all be so kind to roll day jobs, and to write down you PFS# and faction, so I can start preparing chronicle sheets.

Is it me or did this scenario go by fairly quickly? Not that I want to complain, but in my imagination a PbP would last months :P

This went by really quickly, that's for sure. The games I GM typically last about 4-5 weeks, but really fast tables finish in less time. It's not uncommon for tier 1-5 tables to finish within three weeks. Tier 5-9 tables... that's another thing altogether.

It sucks that all my spells are electrical in nature (to go along with Bloodline) and two of the main bad guys are immune to electrical attacks....Guess I'll have to go back to cantrips...

I've put the chronicles here. Let me know if everything is ok. Let me know if everything is ok.

There's still some aftermath to post, but you've defeated the bad guy!

I'll be seeing three of you in the Weapon in the rift game. I still have two more spots available, so if anybody hear wants to join up, that is ok. I had scheduled it for after my holiday break, but seeing as how we finished quite fast on this one, it may be possible to do it in the ~30 days we have until the break. I'll open a thread, cast a vote and work from there. I'll post the link to the new game when after I've put it up.

And I almost forgot! This is PbP game day, so there's boons!

drum roll

Boon Rolls:

DMK: 1d20 ⇒ 10
Alafair: 1d20 ⇒ 8
Asmodan: 1d20 ⇒ 1
Elena: 1d20 ⇒ 5
Ruprecht: 1d20 ⇒ 6
Shadow Lion: 1d20 ⇒ 2
Thekk: 1d20 ⇒ 17

Boon of players choice on a natural roll of 1 or 20
**Re-Rolls not allowed on boons**

Asmodan gets a boon - please let me know which one you want, so I can tell the organisers.

Boons to choose from:

Adopted Weapon Training: You have spent an extended period of time training in a culture other than your own, and as a result, you have learned that population’s weapon styles to the exclusion of all others. You gain the weapon familiarity racial trait of one of the following races: dwarf, elf, gnome, halfling, or half-orc. This specialization comes at a price, and you suffer a –1 penalty on attack rolls made with manufactured weapons other than those granted by any weapon familiarity racial traits you possess. You ignore this penalty when using a weapon that benefits from any Weapon Focus feat or weapon training class feature you may have.

Ancestral Ally: Golarion’s many cultures have traditions of animal husbandry and cooperation that date back millennia, and you have embraced one of your people’s favored companion creatures. If you have the divine bond or mount class feature, instead of choosing an animal companion from the list provided in the class description, you may instead call a mount from the list below so long as you are a member of the corresponding race. If the animal companion statistics for your race’s mount are found in a source beyond the Core Assumption, the source is listed below. You must bring a copy of the listed book to all games in which you use the selected animal companion as though access to the animal companion came from the Additional Resources list.

If an asterisk follows an animal companion option listed below, the animal already appears on the list provided by your class description, and you are at least 4th-level, you may spend 5 Prestige Points to strengthen your bond with that type of animal. This increases your effective druid level as one higher when determining the animal companion’s bonus HD, natural armor bonus, Strength and Dexterity bonuses, bonus tricks, and special abilities. This boon cannot increase your effective druid level more than one level above your actual character level.

Dwarf: badger*, boar
Elf: bird*, elk (Pathfinder RPG Bestiary 3)
Gnome: badger*, giant weasel (Pathfinder RPG Bestiary 4)
Halfling: dog*, ram (Pathfinder RPG Bestiary 2)
Half-Elf: A half-elf may choose from the elf and human lists.
Half-Orc: camel*, bear; a half-orc may also choose from the human list.
Human: bird*, horse*

Custom Order: You have a special contract with an ammunition crafter, and you are able to order small batches of specialty ammunition as a result. Choose either a +1 or +2 ranged weapon enchantment. You may purchase +1 [enchantment] pieces of ammunition in sets of 10 instead of sets of 50. Once you choose the weapon enchantment, you may only change the enchantment type by spending 4 Prestige Points.

I've already played Weapon in the Rift, alas. Enjoy!

As for boons; I'd like the ancestral weapon training boon. Do I have to use the boon on this character or can I keep it for something else?

I think you'll have to use it on this character, but you'll get the info when the boon is sent to you...
