Max Titan |
anyone else want to climb over the gate, assuming you can't squeeze through. Though if you can squeeze through, bring my ladder with you and hand it back to me please, I may have more uses for it.
at the end when everyone is through if noone can get the ladder through, max will squeeze his hands through the gate and push his ladder up and over the gate so that he will still have it.
str: 3 + 1d20 ⇒ 3 + (18) = 21
Delphine Tarrasquel |
"Well I think I'm tiny enough to squeeze through. Besides you raskals might want to take a peek under my dress..." Delphine says as she squeezes through the gate.
Greyveil |
Greyveil studies the plaque at the gate and then looks over the pair of statues.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
This says House of Pentheru. Is that were we want to be. And here, at the base of these statues are name plates - Pentheru the Elder and Pentheru the Younger. Perhaps father and son?
Luke_Parry |
The party slides through the gate (and over it!) into the courtyard beyond.
Dust and sand cover the ground of this small courtyard. To the east and west stand pairs of columns, once brightly painted and now bleached from the sun, which support stone archways leading to other section of the property. Tarnished bronze gates hang open under both arches. To the north, a small flight of steps leads up to a pair of ornate doors in the south wall of the house between another set of columns.
Make a Knowledge(Religion) check. This check can *only* be made by those who make the Perception check, as it is a reactive check.
Eldlen Meirdrerel |
perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
As Eldlen goes to the front door of the house to carefully check the door; to see if it is trapped and locked or unlocked. He hears the sound of an angry mob from outside the main gates, rapidly getting closer. Turning to the team he asks
Pray tell, does't thou hearest yon sound of an angry mob? I perceives't that it rapidly draws closer.
Delphine Tarrasquel |
perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
"Hmmm yes I do, it might be better if we hurry inside. The gate would work as a barrier."
Dolres |
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Dolres looks around at the this new area she has to explore and failing to notice anything amiss says,
"This should be fun!"
Delphine Tarrasquel |
"Just hurry over to this side of the fence!"
Max Titan |
perception: 4 + 1d20 ⇒ 4 + (20) = 24
will: 0 + 1d20 ⇒ 0 + (20) = 20
yes, get to roll religion religion: 0 + 1d20 ⇒ 0 + (19) = 19
Max Titan |
That is some mighty fine rolling there Max. :)
too bad though I have a negative int which counteracts the 1 rank into religion, because the religion dc is probably 20, still I'm liking the rolls and we may get some info from that religion check
Delphine Tarrasquel |
will: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
"What the heck is going on."
can we see the mob?
Dolres |
Will: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
"That noise! Where is it coming from! Who is it! Where is it!"
Dolres appears to panic at the sound.
Luke_Parry |
As the mob seems to get closer (based on the steady increase in volume), Dolres looks around wildly, before...
1d2 ⇒ 1
...fleeing through the archway to the East, screaming at the top of her hearty Dwarven lungs, loud enough to wake the dead!
What would the rest of the party like to do?
Eldlen Meirdrerel |
Eldlen looks toward the two-story home to the north and then toward the east, where Dolres headed off screaming
how interesting, I've never heard a dwarf scream before, so many new experiences, I love the life of a hero, she must want to know who is crying out really badly
Eldlen turns away from the house and trots after Dolres. Assuming she has seen something he did not; he looks around, as he heads east through the archway.
Dolres, pray tell what has't thou discovered?
to see what Dolres saw (or anything else) perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9 well that was almost useless
Max Titan |
Max relays the message. any chance we can get rid of the haunt?
Max follows Dolres to the east in case enemies show up.
Delphine Tarrasquel |
"I'm guessing we better try and catch her before she runs into trouble." Delphine says and very slowly follows after.
Luke_Parry |
Moving after Dolres...
A spacious yard fills the compound east of the house. To the east, several small stone outbuildings have been built right into the compound's outer wall. A well stands between two of these outbuildings, opposite a stone table and benches that sit in the shadow of the house. To the west, two sets of steps, both flanked by columns, lead up to doors into the main house. To the northwest, an open doorway leads into an extension of the house, next to a small structure with a domed roof.
As Dolres charges past the table, there is a loud hissing noise, and an Asp the size of a german shepherd slithers out from under the table!
Delphine: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
Eldlen: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Max: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20
Greyveil: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
A: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
Round 1: Max, A, Dolres, Greyveil, Delphine, Eldlen
Max is up.
On her turn in initiative, Dolres comes to her senses ;-)
Max Titan |
move forward 20 feet and get out weapon, rage and swing hit: 6 + 1d20 ⇒ 6 + (10) = 16
dmg: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (5, 3) + 7 = 15
Dolres |
"A SNAKE!"
Dolres swings at the disgusting snake.
Battleaxe: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
If I could hit I would do a lot of damage
Greyveil |
Greyveil sighs as he moves forward 20 and gets out his crossbow. If you want me to throw a bomb you need to delay and let me go first. he explains.
No BAB so I need an action to get the crossbow out.
Eldlen Meirdrerel |
Eldlen pokes his head into the small stone out buildings that are built into the wall, just quickly looking around.
Pray tell does't thou think yon out buildings have any significance or shalt we begin with the house?
if there in nothing eventful in the small stone out buildings Eldlen will proceed back to the main entrance of the house and check the front door for locks and traps
Delphine Tarrasquel |
"So why did you start running Dolres. You woke the dead."

Luke_Parry |
No problem.
Eldlen moves to check the closest outbuilding.
This small, one-room structure is devoid of features, save the ruined remains of furniture that have all but disintegrated with the passage of time.
Of more immediate concern, however, is the large two-headed dog which snarls at Eldlen's intrusion, and moves to attack!
Bite: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 4 + 2 = 23, for 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 damage.
Trip: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 5 + 2 = 17 VS CMD 16.
It latches onto his leg and throws him to the ground, before releasing him and snarling furiously.
@Eldlen: Please roll a Fortitude save.
Delphine: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
Eldlen: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Max: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28
Greyveil: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
DD: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Round 1: Max, Eldlen, Delphine, Dolres, DD, Greyveil
Everyone except Greyveil is up.
Dolres |
Dolres look at Delphine
"Those voices! Didn't you hear those voice! It sounded like someone was trying to break in here and get us! Didn't you hear them!"
She shakes herself as if to physically remove the memory of what just happened. Suddenly Dolres regains her composure and steps up to attack this new creature.
Battleaxe: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Max Titan |
did my rage just end, or could I still be raging, since not a whole turn passed since the dog was released, since others move to the room immediately after combat ended, it makes a difference for me, because if I end my rage, I'm fatigued. and I have to be constantly fighting, not sure how the dm rules it, but really since I was first in init, and I didn't act outside combat, that could still technically have been round 1.
I will move and attack while still raging if possible. hit: 6 + 1d20 ⇒ 6 + (14) = 20
dmg: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (5, 2) + 7 = 14 blunt dmg.
since delphine actually goes before dolres, she can always enlarge person on here, assuming dolres did hit, but that will change her 1d8 into 2d6 and then 1 extra damage because of str boost, she would also have to reroll 1d8 into 2d6 and it could backfire if she hits like min damage..
Luke_Parry |
[oox]@Max: You won't have continued to rage, but we can certainly say that enough time (i.e. two rounds) has passed that you can re-enter rage.[/ooc]
Regarding Enlarge Person, please note that it has a 1 round casting time, so if Delphine starts casting it now, she would not finish casting until the start of her *next* turn.
Max moves forward, delivers a terrific blow to the two-headed dog, and is rewarded by the sound of cracking ribs.
Dolres then moves forward, and delivers a vicious slash with her battleaxe, nearly dropping the dog.
Eldlen stands...
Bite: 1d20 + 4 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 + 4 = 23, for 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 damage.
...but takes a nasty bite in the process.
@Eldlen: Please roll another Fort save.
Round 1: Max, Eldlen, Delphine, Dolres, DD, Greyveil
Delphine is up.
Delphine Tarrasquel |
"Eldlen we really should stop meeting like this." Delphine says as she touches Eldlens shoulder with the wand of healing.
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Luke_Parry |
Eldlen begins to feel a bit itchy.
Please make a note that you have contracted 'wormpox'... yes, I dog just gave you worms ;-)
Delphine moves forward and heals Eldlen's wounds.
The dog turns its attention to Max...
Bite: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6, for 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 damage.
Bite: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5, for 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9 damage.
...but he easily dodges out of the way.
Round 2: Greyveil, Max, Eldlen, Delphine, Dolres, DD
Party is up!
Eldlen Meirdrerel |
Wormpox: Bite—Injury; save Fort DC 12; onset 1 day; frequency 1 day; effect 1 Con damage; cure 2 consecutive saves.
Noted: so do I wait a day for my next Fort. roll?
Eldlen exclaims more in disgust than anger
Yon Hound has't bitten me
in his desire to strike the animal back; he drops his sword, drawing and firing his bow.
into melee with soft cover right? This may be a bad idea
longbow attack: 1d20 + 5 - 4 - 4 ⇒ (4) + 5 - 4 - 4 = 1 for damage: 1d8 ⇒ 4
yep, it was a bad idea
Max Titan |
go down boy as he stays in rage. hit: 6 + 1d20 ⇒ 6 + (5) = 11
dmg: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (3, 4) + 7 = 14 blunt
