the first attack should've indeed been a miss

Tessara Omelion PFS |
Tess, fully in her element, laughs loudly, and continues the misfortune on her current Shae victim. She then attempts to jinx the other one with the same curse.
Move action to cackle to maintain Misfortune. Standard action to Misfortune in the other Shae. DC 17 Will save to resist.
DM Kludde |
Tessara cackles madly and extends her unlucky influence to the other Shae.

Since she only manages to hurt herself in her haste to reach the top, Aetherys will wait until the calm is restored and the shae dealt with before attempting to move upwards again.
Delay until the end of the fight.
Velidor Gamestalker |

Only a single Shae is left, suffering under Tessera's spell.

I have AC 23 due to Magic Vestment, so I think she missed due to the first roll.

DM Kludde |
Thekk takes careful aim, squinting through the sights of his crossbow, and levelling it with the eyes that are hidden behind the silvery mask. With deadly precision, he ends the existence of the last Shae
Combat over!
The platform is connected to a corridor, which branches off about ten feet in, one passage leading north, the other west.
Tessara Omelion PFS |
"Is everyone okay? Do we need healing?". Assuming the group was okay, Tess waits for the others before heading into the corridor.
Artian Shirinez |
I need to heal myself a little. Says Artian putting out a wand from his wraist.

Velidor Gamestalker |
"I only lost my grip once and got a deep scratch."...7 points down, not too bad
Aetherys Dawnblade |
"I'm fine, and ready to move on."
Once everyone is set, Aetherys will cast a defensive spell (mirror image, lasts 5 minutes), then lead the group into the corridor, walking carefully until the crossroads, watching out for any traps or ambushes.

Velidor Gamestalker |
Checking his ammo and unslinging his boomstik, Velidor stands ready with the others to venture further into this madness. "Where do you want me in the formation?"
DM Kludde |
The group carefully moves toward the junction. To the north, another platform surrounded with chains is visible, while to the west, there seems to be some kind of chamber.
Artian Shirinez |
No more climbing yet. Let´s go with Aetherys to check the chamber
DM Kludde |
The corridor leads to a large chamber—roughly thirty feet by thirty-five feet. It has four wide alcoves containing tables that appear to have been used for cruel experiments and torture. Each is surrounded by a variety of surgical implements, while straps, hooks, and chains on the surfaces have clearly been used to restrain subjects during procedures. A pale, gray body lays on one of the tables, its skin flayed from its body.
Artian Shirinez |
Artian waits the rest of the group to be near, and before entering in the room, checks for traps, or whoever could be responsible of doing that to the body.
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16
Dammed gods, they have a place to roture people!
Velidor Gamestalker |
"By the gods what madness is this!?" Velidor exclaims as he looks around for any traps...Ranger archetype ability Trapfinding: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (1) + 14 = 15
Tessara Omelion PFS |
"No wonder that poor fellow below was in such bad shape. These monsters have tortured him for who knows how long.". Tess casts Detect Magic.
DM Kludde |
Velidor scouts ahead, and sees no direct signs of traps. Just as he is about to step into the room, Tessera scans for magic, and finds that the tables contain transmutation magic.
Aetherys Dawnblade |
"That looks like a dead end. Let's move to the north. That being said, I'm wondering if we didn't miss something downstairs."
Aetherys allows for enough time to study the torture tables further if Tessa wishes to do so, then leads the group to the north if there are no objections.
Tessara Omelion PFS |
"Be careful around those tables. There is transformation magic around. Maybe something has changed themselves into tables, or turned something else into a table. Whatever the case, be aware around them."
Artian Shirinez |
I thought we aren´t going to enter in an empty room, but I´ll take the advice, thanks.
Following Aetherys, Artian looks around for traps or more Shae.
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
By the way Aetherys, why are you leading? I think I´m better armored and don´t mind to go first
Aetherys Dawnblade |
"Oh? You're welcome to lead, it's just that I want this business over and done with so I guess this is my way of hastening our pace. By all means, lead on."
In other words, I'm only leading so that we move more quickly through this dungeon. I've just finished a PFS PbP scenario that took three months to finish, and I'd rather not repeat that experience. That being said I'm not worried at all with DMK, but every group needs a "push forward" character I guess.
Artian Shirinez |
I´m fairly new to pbp, so I welcome a "push forward" player.
Just put me in front of you on the corridors so we can benefit of my higher AC
Artian passes Aetherys to protect her and the rest of the group.
Velidor Gamestalker |
"Just let me know if you come across any traps, I have a fair hand at negating them, otherwise I am right back here covering you with my boomstik." the woodsman says.
DM Kludde |
Just to be clear: nobody ever entered that western room. Velidor searched for traps on the entrance, and Tessera detected magic form afar, and that's it.
The northern corridor leads to another platform adjacent to a drop with chains hanging down. Judging from the way the party has walked, the room below is not one they have visited so far.
Let me know if you'd like to move faster. We should officially finish by feb 1st, which may be slightly tight.
Aetherys Dawnblade |
That was my concern, DMK. I wished to finish in time for a chance at boons, in fact. So moving faster would be appreciated, if you don't mind.
"How about we go down and explore it? It seems there is nothing else on this level."
DM Kludde |
I'll see what I can do
This large chamber is more than twenty feet wide and thirty long. Two walls have black wooden doors set in them, each tall enough to allow an ogre to pass through. Spiked chains fill the chamber, stretching upward endlessly. Dozens of corpses hang from the chains, cruel looking hooks dig deeply into flesh, suspending the bodies several feet from the ground. Some of them appear to be the subjects of extensive unnecessary surgeries with chains, hooks, or spikes replacing limbs. The faint rasping of labored breathing fills the room.
Suddenly, an eerie chanting starts. It seems to be coming from the lower level.
Tessara Omelion PFS |
Tess is fine with following the group down. If she has more of her Flight hex left (5 minutes per day), she will use that to lower herself down easily. Does any Knowledge yield results as to what might be making the chanting sound? 1d20 ⇒ 9
Artian Shirinez |
Ok, Let´s check what´s going down. Thanks to his new strenght he´s able to climb down
I´ll go down assuming everyone is going before me
What the hell is going on! Who´s chanting!
