Logain Xanatus |
Logain nods and whispers "I have dealt with politicians and nobles. What he is asking for is nothing. He is probably a minor demon like a quasit. One who wouldn't be a danger to let loose if it helps us remove these Aspis."
Morrolan de'Morcaine |
... " Please help me gain revenge on these humans and allow me to return to my home through the Diamond Gate. In return, I will provide information on the trespassers of Areshkagal's profane grounds. What do you say?"
.
knowledg religion Areshkagal: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16sense motive: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 19
.
Usually, what you request would be granted without concern. However, you proclaim yourself to be a servant of Areshkagal. While we are no allies of these others, neither have we been given any reason to trust the followers of Areshkagal. Areshkagal does not have the reputation of some one that can be trusted and relied upon. For all we know, you could easily intend to use the portal to acquire an army to slaughter us. Seems rather obvious we should not cooperate with such a request.

The blue frog's head dips down (as close to a nod as you can gather) and says, "Tis right of you to mistrust me for I was not sure I could trust you either. I was actually following you as soon as you entered my lady's shrine, trying to ascertain your loyalties and intentions. Solving this fake gate is a sign from Areshkagal that you can be trusted. So it is only that I would be required to prove my trust-worthiness. This is not my true form."
With a poof, the blue frog turns into a tiny, thin and wiry creature with ram horns and wings.
Knowledge planes to identify.
"I apologize for my deception but I figured you people would have sliced first and asked questions later should I have appeared in my true form.
"So, what can I do to prove that I have only ill-intent towards those vile interlopers in Areshkagal's profane paradise?"
Sense Motive check if you'd like.
Skipper Daytripper |
Skipper frowns unhappily, rubbing at the back of his head.
"...welll.... okay, uh, thank you for showing us your true form, but, honestly, that doesn't change anything. I believe that you want revenge on the Aspis for desecrating the shrine, but that doesn't preclude you also wanting to do other nasty things, Teenoch. To us, or to the rest of the world. I mean."
Kn Planes: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
"...you are a demon," Skipper says. He sounds apologetic about this fact. "It's generally dumb to make deals with them?"
Sigh. Their mission does require they learn about the gate, though. Skipper shrugs and studies the ceiling briefly. He decides to see if the quasit has any response to this, or if any of his friends have a solid moral stance on the matter.
OOCly, I'm fine with dealing with the quasit, it may yield useful information. ICly, Skipper's a cleric of a good god, albeit not a lawful one, so he's obviously reluctant. If nobody in the party has a strong opposition to working with it, then I say we go for it, but let's make a decision if possible so we can let the game move forward.
I will throw a sense motive on things though, though I doubt I'll beat a 25.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18
Logain Xanatus |
know planes: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21
Logain moves to stand next to Skipper and whispers in his ear.
"Look if it escapes who cares. It's obviously not very dangerous either way. It's just a quasit, it could hardly do anything besides pester fresh recruits."
He raises his voice and says to the quasit.
"Fine, fine, we will help you kill the remaining Aspis in this base. So tell us what you know and we can get to work on them."
Navaeh |
Nevaeh refuses to work with the quasit but he also refuses to acknowledge its existence so it shouldn't be an issue. Plus he barely tolerates working with other pathfinders and still helps get the mission done :)
While the others talk Nevaeh gets bored. Finding a cleanish corner to sit he begins to sharpen his sword.
Skipper Daytripper |
Skipper's brows knit together at Logain's words, but he sighs, and nods. "Suppose so," he murmurs. He looks to the others with a shrug.
(Unless someone else objects) "Alright, Teenoch. I suppose we can travel to the same destination, for a bit."
Roary Flamebearer |
"So now we work with demons at behest of the society.. I don't like it.." He looks to the demon.. "If you play us false I will kill you and destroy this temple.."
slin2678 |
Teenoch looks relieved as she says, "I shall scout ahead and let you know what I find."
She disappears. You can roll a perception check to see if you can detect her leave.
After about a minute, you hear a voice, though you still can't see her.
"There are some Aspis agents guarding a prisoner in the northernmost room. Just go through the door, take a left and its the last room on the left.
"On the way there, their sleeping quarters will be to the right, which is currently empty. I can explore other areas as you move through, cleansing my lady's temple of these foul beings."
Roary Flamebearer |
"Alrighty well lets go see who's worth guarding.."
Roary heads off to the room to do some killing..
Logain Xanatus |
Logain uses a shield charge from his wand on himself snd follows after the barbarian.
"Let's try to surprise them." he softly says.

Skipper Daytripper |
Sorry, was traveling for much of the day.
"Thank you, Teenoch," Skipper says politely. "Yes, please-- keep an eye out for any of these, um, defilers trying to sneak up on us?"
He follows after the others, letting Roary and Neveah lead, but staying close enough behind them to lend a hand if needed.
Morrolan de'Morcaine |
Before we leave here, Ward nás od zlovestné sily!
Cast Communal Protection From Evil on the Group, which does not include Teenoch.
Morrolan then follows the others getting his bow ready.
Skipper Daytripper |
No worries. Holidays are slowing down all my games right now.
Skipper is moving north, up the hall, five feet behind somebody who is larger and more melee capable, ideally Roary or Neveah, but I won't presume to speak for them. He will stop at the position I have currently placed him on the map and look/listen ahead for any trouble (traps, sounds they've been heard, etc).
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26
Presuming nothing troublesome reveals itself, he continues to move with the others until they reach the 'room' at the northmost end of the hall. He has his bow drawn.
Logain Xanatus |
Logain moves north with the rest, but stays on the second row like Skipper. He tries to be as silent as possible and hopes the rest of the party follows suit. They have some guards to surprise after all.
Morrolan de'Morcaine |
Jakarno, are you going to try and bluff your way forward to get the door open for the others to run in, or do we want to just bash in the hard way?
.
If we want to surprise them, I can use Ragathiel's power to make us quiet. Otherwise, my armor will surely alert everyone.
If no one objects, I will cast silence and hold my current position on the map until everyone is ready.
Všetko je pokoj!
.
GM, do the dotted lines next to the doors indicate bars that someone could see through?
.
Once Roary or Neveah, are ready to move in, I will move forward 20' (4 squares) to block any sound from going upstairs and alerting anyone else. You guys should cast any spells before you get within 20' of me or after you get into the room.
Navaeh |
Nevaeh is ready
Nevaeh moves up under the silence of Morrolan's spell, taking a position at the corner.
Morrolan de'Morcaine |
Morrolan casts the silence on his shield. As soon as his silence is active, Morrolan waves Jakarno (which name are you wanting me to use) forward.
Roary Flamebearer |
Sorry it was a long weekend.
Roary moves up beside Navaeh and everyone is ready will give a signal to move the silence up as he moves into the room..
Roary Flamebearer |
Thats fine.. Was more or less letting everyone know that he was ready to continue
Jakarno |
Jakarno was introduced as the Tengu Kiklit. You may have seen through his disguise to know he's actually a Wayang, but his real name - Jakarno, was never given. I've just not been correcting people.
Kiklit advances to the door and casually tries to open it.
Stealth 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (14) + 18 = 32
Jakarno |
Stealth to move up the hall, but with the silence, I'll change it to opening the door if necessary.
Kiklit gives the others a look to ensure they're ready and nods before opening the door. He stands aside for the silenced warriors to move past him.

Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
I will place icons of the 3 Aspis Agents and 2 animals when I get home tonight. I think my work has a block on google so I can't update the map.
Logain Xanatus |
they block google? Do you work for china or something? :p

Skipper Daytripper |
Welp, I guess I'll get the party started if nobody else wants to. :P
Skipper waits until the door is open by their disguised friend, and then he darts forward out of Morrolan's silenced field, the words of an invocation on his lips. "Light of the dawn-walker!"
A burst of radiant light erupts around the heads of the three Aspis agents and their creature.
Burst of Radiance, targeting the front group (but not the man in the cell): those 4 enemies need to make a DC 17 Reflex save.
If evil, they take this much damage, whether they make the save or not: 5d4 ⇒ (2, 1, 3, 1, 2) = 9
If evil and failed save: Blinded for: 1d4 ⇒ 3 rounds.
If not evil and failed save, dazzled for the same number of rounds.
"Surrender! I don't want to have to kill any more people today!" Skipper adds on after his spell has burst around their foes.
Roary Flamebearer |
After his spell goes off Roary steps in and takes a swing at the middle Aspis Agent.. Raging silently as he does..
Attack: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (9) + 16 = 25
Dam: 2d4 + 19 ⇒ (3, 2) + 19 = 24 +2 if it's a spellcaster
Logain Xanatus |
Logain will make sure he has his ablative barrier active beforehand.
cant access map atm so not sure what it looks like.
Logain will try to put the strongest looking individual to sleep using his sleep hex.
dc 16 will or zzz if they all look alike the one furthest away will get hit.

Yes, as stated in my post, I moved out of the silence field to cast. And I moved on the map, to be out of Morrolan's 20' radius. That said, I'm in the silence field for... five of my six squares of movement, until I get to the very edge, when I cast my spell, so... not sure what I'm stealth-rolling for, the final five foot step I take out of the silence? Not trying to be an ass, just not sure of the logic there. Still:
Stealth: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
