Hey guys, I'm going to ask you for a favor: when you cast a spell or use an obscure ability that I need to officiate, will you please look it up on Archives of Nethys for me and provide a link? It saves me from having to go look for the spell, and I can refer back to it later just by clicking the link. You don't really need to do so for the super common spells that we all know—magic missile, mage armor, cure light wounds, etc. But it would be very helpful for the less common spells, many of which I've never seen before.

I just search for such things on Google. If you add "site:archivesofnethys.com" to your search request it will narrow it down to just the Archives.

@ Psycho: I apologize—your blindness spell earlier should have succeeded. I forgot about the djezeteel and your spell penetration; either one of which would have pushed the CL check high enough. I'm very sorry about that. :/

By the way, I think your mind thrust should be 6d8. The djezeteel adds +2 to CL checks, not CL. Unless I'm missing something else. Nevermind, I see you have Spell Specialization! :)

Re: Knowledge (engineering) DC 40: The item is a unique item, and no DC was given. I possibly set the DC too high, but my thinking was that the item is one-of-a-kind and not very famous. The scenario does not seem to expect the players to know what the item does. As you interact with it more, I'll give you more information. :)

Re: Weal and Woe: The weal is obvious in retrospect—if you promise to help the azers, they give you quite a lot of help. The woe was because had you tried diplomacy, they would have attacked you without hesitation—they are desperate to get home, and their starting attitude was hostile. And Tig-0, demanding that you dismantle the malfunctioning units, wasn't going to make the situation any better. ;)

Well, it's all on the dice with no static modifiers to damage, so I could conceivably roll eight 1s. I rolled way above average on that one.

Mind Thrust also only works on things with an int score and susceptibility to mind-affecting effects. I can spend phrenic pool points to hit undead with it.

Ever have a scenario when things just don't seem to work? In this one, Tess has rolled a one and a two in the important skill check section, and cast a lightning bolt that didn't get through SR in the one fight so far.

The team is doing quite well, despite Tess, not because of her, lol.

I have both a folio and a T shirt. I carry the folio in my trunk for situations like this. I can forward you a pic of it, if you want.

I usually don't do the rerolls, since some DM's aren't fans of them being used in PBP. Since you don't mind, I'll go ahead and use the folio then.

I have to compliment this team on the expediency of this game.

I feel we're nearing the end, and it's only been 3 weeks since we started!

Some of the other games I've signed up with are crawling, with only a few posts per week.

Barth has this boon from a module that allows him to rebuild a clockwork spy construct and tote it around as a sort of companion. I've been holding off on doing it because his Disable Device isn't quite high enough to make it happen, but I think after this scenario I'll "gather up what's left of Tig" and do it =D

Yes, he would still be threatening you. But...if you are at least 10 feet away from a part of Tig-0 that Barth can target, then Barth avoids the –4 penalty. LINK

Hey guys. We just got hit with a huge windstorm and I'm without power (along with about a million other people in the PNW). I could try to post from my tablet, but I think it would be better to just pause for the time being. I just wanted you to have a heads up so you knew why you weren't seeing any posts from me. Hopefully the power will be back on tomorrow morning, but I'm skeptical cautiously optimistic. There were about 100,000 outages in the area.

It just so happens that we are about to start the final encounter! :)

Looking around I found the Harrow Chosen Trait. It's essentially Spell Specialization, but for all Divination spells.

Totally going to make a travelling Varisian Harrow reader!

Regarding that trait, g@++!*n! I need to take Additional Traits when I ding next level. He's already ethnically Varisian (from Ustalav, of course). You can't take Varisian Tattoo for divination because the stupid Thassilonians didnt consider a school of magic D:

With that trait, Mind Thrust V at level 11 will be doing 15d8 and exhaust the target for 1 round on a failed save, fatigue on a made one >:D

Well, damn.

Nefreet, you pointing out that Harrow Chosen trait made me think of the Harrower prestige class.

Tower of Strength gives you +1 damage per die on a spell you cast...for each strength-suit card you draw when doing Harrowed Casting. You can conceivably get +4 per die (if you draw the strength card that matches your alignment and two others), or other benefits like increased saves or SR penetration.

At level 11, that would make my 15d8 mind thrust v's do anywhere from +15 to +60 damage.

I think I may go in that direction....
