[PFS PbP] GM zebeev's 6-05 - Slave Ships of Absalom (Tier 1-5) (Inactive)

Tactical Maps!

Grand Lodge

Hello,

I'm looking to put a PbP table together here on the Paizo boards for the PFS scenario #6-05: Slave Ships of Absalom (Tier 1-5), and am looking for a group of brave souls to investigate a matter of courtly intrigue that could lead you all to some of the city's darker corners.

I usually have two times of the day in which I post, which is lunch-hour and late at night. (1200 EST, and 2300-0200 EST).

The following is the product description for the scenario:

Summary wrote:

The metropolis of Absalom promotes commerce in its many forms, and although slavery is legal, it is increasingly common for citizens to frown on the institution. The practice becomes more questionable when an ally of the Pathfinder Society traces an attempt at supernatural surveillance through a slave. Sent as independent sleuths, the PCs must track down the source of this espionage, which takes them deep into underbelly of one of Absalom’s darkest industries.

Content in "Slave Ships of Absalom" also contributes directly to the ongoing storylines of the Liberty’s Edge and Sovereign Court factions.

I've PM'd the players in my last scenario, and I will give them a slight nod of preference, but only two have shown interest so far. So to any newcomers, if you're interested in playing, please provide the following information:

FLAVOUR:
Character concept and class(es):
Personality

DETAILS:
Player name:
Character name:
PFS#
Faction:
Day Job Roll (if applicable):
Regular or Slow progression:

Additional Notes:
- Posting will be at least once a day. More than likely, I'd check twice or three times a day, but we all know life gets in the way sometimes.
- With that said, if you know in advance that life will be getting in the way of a post or two, please the group in advance. We can get your tactics and wishes in writing, then bot your actions if needed.
- Maps will be done in Google Slides. Seems to be the standard, and no accounts or subscriptions needed.
- Please have your profile up to date! The GM needs to be the arbiter of all things, so I need as much info as possible to ensure everyone's on their best behaviour. Let me see all your stats and abilities.
- I play by the Rule of Two (or Three, if playing with six PC's): if two party members agree on a particular action, that will drive the narrative forward. The exception to this rule would be if there is a crucial plot point or important decision - in which case, the entire party should have a say in what happens. This helps keep the game moving forward, as some people like to play social characters, and some like to keep to the back row and wait until combat. I've totally been both types of players at different points in my time playing tabletop, I get it. :P

Lastly, if you've any questions or concerns, please ask/tell away!

Dark Archive

Player name: Nerak the Numb
Character name: Tata Sisbil
PFS: 2188-2
Day Job Roll: N/A
Regular or Slow: Regular

Character concept/classes: Nagaji Sorcerer

Background:
Tata Sisbil was adopted by a rich family in Absalom after being found in an alley and turned over to an orphanage. He enjoyed a spoiled childhood and proved to be an overly curious but well mannered child. He showed an innate knack for getting his way, though his parents would not realize until later that he was using his dormant powers of suggestion to aid this. After being turned back over the orphanage at 11, Tata spent time in a street gang in the Coins district. He has studied briefly at the Arcanamirium, but was thrown out after being caught stealing some potions. Tata is fascinated by all things arcane as well as the occult, seeks knowledge in all its forms and has not spent much time outside Absalom. He has recently been recruited into the Pathfinder Society, hoping to put his skills to use and see the world.

Tata is quite tall, handsome and well spoken, something which most people who meet him do not expect upon first introduction. He has quite a temper but manages to keep it in check most of the time. He dresses in current fashions, carries a dagger and crossbow on his hip and has deep green, alluring eyes.

FLAVOUR:
Character concept and class(es): Nagaji Samurai (Ronin) 5. He was a proud member of the Samurai class in Minkai during the reign of the Jade Regent, but following the imposition of a new emperor found himself with new liege and no home. He served for a time as a wandering Ronin, tracking down fugitives and bandits and the like. He now serves the Pathfinder Society after Venture Captain Amara Li suggested he use his skills for the advancement of knowledge and historical lore protecting feeble scholars.
Personality - He is reserved and suspicious. Being too quick to enter into arrangements burned him once before so he is cautious.

DETAILS:
Player name: Eddv (please put Doug Edwards on the chronicle)
Character name: Hanzi Logain
PFS# 133118-16
Faction: Grand Lodge
Day Job Roll (if applicable): Profession Librarian:: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Regular or Slow progression: Regular

I don't think its going to come up but I have the Model Pathfinder Boon. If Amara Li is the Venture Captain this entitles me to 200 gp in free gear. I have also spent the 1 Prestige necessary on that boon to be a part time instructor at the grand lodge. Any PCs on an adventure with me who are 3 levels lower than me are entitled to certain bonuses.

Grand Lodge

Player name: Escharid Blackrose

Regular or Slow progression:Normal

Eredur is a mage (he does prefer that term), and a dwarf (and being very proud of it.). The Pathfinder slowly opens his mind about the values and virtues of other races (even if they can't compete with Dwarves, of course), and he is a loyal comrade.
He has a familiar, Lybna, a weasel

The Exchange

Player name: garmon
Character name: kiaru
PFS# 195819-8
Faction: the exchange

Regular or Slow progression:normal
Flavour
Kiaru is a ELf rogue that prefer a good spear as ligth weapons. His favourite ablities to walk around a shadows and attack by back using his spear

Grand Lodge

That would give us six. I'll leave the recruitment open for the day, then make a final selection later tonight (likely after midnight EST).

Grand Lodge

I gave it some extra time, but no other bites means our lineup is Naruhito, Tata, Setare, Hanzi, Eredur and Kiaru! Mostly familiar faces, but welcome to the newcomers.

I've created the Gameplay thread, feel free to do the usual intros and chatter while I get things sorted behind the scenes. First post of substance will be once everyone's had a chance to introduce themselves. Given that four of us are familiar faces, it'll make things easy. (Nods and grunts of acknowledgement all around!)

(The thread can be found by clicking this link).

Grand Lodge

I'll post here, rather than start a discussion thread - Setare is out for the game, work/life got in the way - that puts us down to five players, but given the varying levels of everyone, (4, 3, 2, 1 and 1), that puts our APL at 2.2, or 2 rounding down.

So we're still good to run the 1-2 Subtier, if everyone is fine with running a table of five. Otherwise, I can head out hat-in-hand and look for a sixth; I'll leave the vote to you all.

Grand Lodge

Hanzi is level 5 actually

Grand Lodge

Ah, so he is. That brings the APL up to 2.4, which still rounds down to 2, so we're all good there.

Grand Lodge

Look for the sixth but level 1 or 2.

Sovereign Court

I have a couple characters available to play, that are lvls 1-3 if you have room

Skald lv 1
Summoner lvl 2
Investigator lvl 2
Witch lvl 3
Pyrokineticist lvl 1
Fighter lvl 1
Sorcer lvl 1
Occultist lvl 1
Barbarian unchained lvl 3
and a Gunslinger lvl 3

depening on what the party needs of course

Grand Lodge

Well, we've two Samurai, a Sorcerer, Wizard and a Rogue. Whichever character you prefer to play, go right ahead. :]

The Concordance

DETAILS:
Player name: Sapphire Fox
Character name: Alani Fox
PFS# 208282-3
Faction: The Concordance
Day Job Roll (if applicable): Craft Alchemy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
Regular or Slow progression: Regular

FLAVOUR:
Character concept and class(es): Alani fox is a privateer sailor (aka Pirate) with her spouses, she does not like being on land for long if she can help it, her choices mostly boil down to "How much trouble will lead back to the ship if I do this" or "How much reward can I haul back to the ship"
Personality: her voice is soft due to the ale that her wives drink, the shouting and the cartridges she crafts, but she is headstrong and lets her musket do the talking. if you get her irritated she may just decide how low on the totem pole you are to her in importance for the fight

Dark Archive

if there is a spot open i have a ratkin witch that i would like to add to the group?

Grand Lodge

@GM William: I believe we're good, there's one player who hasn't posted yet in the gameplay thread, but I believe they are good to play through the scenario. If anything changes, I'll PM you.

Grand Lodge

I am en route to SeekerPalooza as I type this. Its up in the Applachain mountains and as such connection is expected to ve spotty at best.

Please bot as needed this weekend.

Grand Lodge

Gotcha. Hanzi will be the strong, silent type for a bit. :]
