Shambala |
Shambala closes his eyes. "We. Need. To. Find. Voinraig."
Bulgo Bluefoot |
"I think some of the others may want to socialise a little more, but certainly as soon as we can, we should try and track down Voinraig." agrees Bulgo.
Well, SS faction lead located, but there are two others we should be helping with too!
Conlaoch McCullagh |
Conlaoch nods, and follows Bulgo's lead. This party is a little fancy-pants gathering, isn't it?
He tries not to embarrass anyone.
Shambala |
Of course, Bulgo! Shambala is a little too Osirion-focused sometimes ^^
Shambala, his eyes wide open this time, tries to locate the other two leaders of the factions the party has.

The Man Behind the Curtain |
Ollysta Zadrian is maintaining quite a high profile, fully decked out in her Silver Crusader armor and talking it up with Lady Gloriana Morilla. She seems rather preoccupied with her discussions at the moment however. At the moment you are unable to find any representatives of Sczarni, nor Qadira.
Assuming you head towards the sewers. Another post soon to come... If you have any purchases you want to make before heading to the sewers feel free.
The Man Behind the Curtain |
Map is posted, let me know if you have any difficulties accessing it or moving your characters around. Place yourselves in whatever marching order you'd prefer.
Following Iara's directions, it is easy to find the sewer entrance most likely used by the looters. Once in the sewers, tracking his path is easier yet, since it is marked clearly with green chalkmarks on the walls. The marks stop at a portion of brick wall that has been recently disturbed. The mortar has already been dislodged and it seems as though the wall was recently reassembled but not resealed.
Bulgo Bluefoot |
After leaving the function Bulgo changes out of his finery and into more "street" clothing.
"Why sewers?[/b" he asks. On the way he procures a supply of green chalk. "[b]Because I'm guessing there is a reason for it."
Once at the spot he looks around for what may be of interest.
perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29
Sihir Aneh |
Peran activates his wand of mage armor upon descending into the sewers.
Remind me exactly where we are right now, geographically?
As does Sihir Aneh.
false life: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17 JACKPOT!
Shambala |
Shambala goes down with the others and when the light goes down, he casts a dancing light.
Conlaoch McCullagh |
Conloach moves up front with Bulgo. "If we run into trouble, I am ready to deal with it."
Diri Lizzenbettolze |
It won't take much travelling together to realize that Diri is slow. (15ft. Move speed)
"Proximal optimum positioning for me is fluid due to optimization of impact negation technology," Diri offers, tapping her bronze chainmail.
Front, middle, back. Wherever.
The Man Behind the Curtain |
It doesn't take long to shift the replaced bricks to make an opening to look through. Bulgo takes a peek forward into the descending stairwell and stops quite sharply before entering the room as he notices that there is a trap covering the entrance to the tomb. In fact it is so well hidden (and advanced for that matter) that were it not for Bulgo's keen trap spotting skills, you may have missed it. Lightly scribed runes are nearly invisible etched into the spaces between the slabs, but it appears as though some powerful magic wards this entrance.
Shambala |
Shambala closes his eyes and opens them again. They turn completely red as he casts a spell without moving nor speaking.
Knowledge Arcana: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23 +4 if it's occult but I don't think it is ^^
As usual, he takes a mechanical tone to speak to the party.
"There. are. a. few. auras. here, likely. one. of. them. is. the. triggering. mechanism, however. the. more. potent. one. is. a. moderate. illusion. aura."
Moving towards the mechanism, he tries to disable it using his mind.
Disable Device + trapfinding: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28
Having the seeker archetype, Shambala has DD as class skill and trapfinding :)
Diri Lizzenbettolze |
Know (Arcana): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Diri scrawls a few haphazard notes on the cosest piece of paper- -her handy cocktail napkin- -before offering "We can likely trigger it from a distance if you cannot prevent it from triggering close by which would give us the chance to observe its effects and might even allow us to avoid the effects, Brigh willing," pointing at one of the hammers at her side and mimicking a toss.
The Man Behind the Curtain |
After everyone moves out of the way, the hammer clatters across the floor, coming to rest within the traps aura. No sounds are heard, no flashes of light, no shower of sparks. It appears as though the trap is not triggered by pressure or simple alarms, but by a more intricate or intelligent spell.
Diri Lizzenbettolze |
"Tomorrow," Diri offers unhelpfully, pondering all of the traps shes seen trigger and weighing risk v. reward.
Bulgo Bluefoot |
Sorry for the delay
Bulgo offers some assistance to Shambala - pointing out where bits of the trap are located and what it might do.
Aid another on that disable device check if permitted. With +13 that is an auto succeed, taking Sham up to DC30 on the disable.
"If we can't bypass it, we will need a way around it.. But I wonder how the robbers before us got around it, and whether green chalk can help."
The Man Behind the Curtain |
I'm going to be a kind and caring GM and choose to believe that part of your help is to hand Shambala your masterwork tools, giving him just enough to pass.
With Bulgo's help (along with a decent set of tools), Shambala is able to discharge the spell within the trap harmlessly.
As for the green chalk, there doesn't appear to be anything magical about it. As best as you can tell, it was simply used to mark the path to the tomb and be easily distinguished from the construction markings and scuff marks throughout the sewers.
Up until extremely recently (measured in days) this tomb was sealed and the water of the sewers were kept out of it. As such, the depictions of funerary rites and stylized illustrations of life in Absalom are still fairly well preserved. Over a dozen small terra-cotta statues of humans equipped to perform common chores line the north and south walls, and at least as many urns and coffers are scattered throughout the room. The eastern sarcophagus is partly open, and disintegrating shreds of linen nearby attest to someone having ransacked the contents.
Place yourselves near anything that you wish to further inspect.

Conlaoch looks around, shaking his head sadly. "Why would they do such a thing..."
Peran |
Spellcraft Take 10: 10 + 15 = 25
Survival: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Peran sniffs as the trap is disarmed,
"Good thing, that spell might have been lethal."
Peran then scampers down to the end of the hall to peer into the open sarcophagus.
Shambala |
Showing a hint of satisfaction on his face, Shambala bows low before Bulgo. "It. Is. Most. appreciated. Thank. You."
He nods at Peran and follows him closely.
The Man Behind the Curtain |
After less than a minute of exploring the tomb, you hear footfalls from just outside the door, followed by a few voices.
You hear in a deep gruff voice "Boss, the bricks are gone."
In a low but clear angry voice you hear the order given. "Someone is in there! Kill them!"

Combat Round 1:
Conlaoch, Peren, Bulgo
Evil Oracle
Shambala
Red Axeman, Brown Axeman
Diri, Sihir
Anyone who can see the evil oracle on their turn...
Peran |
Peran turns around, and causes a bright flash of light to envelope the grave robbers. Can't see the evil oracle thingy, so just going to hit the 2 in front.
Spending an arcane point for Potent Burst of Radiance.

oopse rework that slightly
Bulgo steps up to the blind people and attacks while he has the advantage.
Looks like a 5' step so he should be able to TWF
attack, TWF: 1d20 + 11 - 2 ⇒ (16) + 11 - 2 = 25
damage: 1d3 + 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2) + (4, 2) + 6 = 14

damage: 1d3 + 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1) + (6, 1) + 6 = 14
Both attacks on same person (yellow), unless he drops from the first, in which case he'll put the second knife into the red faced one
The Man Behind the Curtain |
The staircase is difficult terrain, and you're up against a hard corner as well, so only the 1st attack will go off.
The blinded axe warrior looks left and right, squinting hard trying to find his foes when all of a sudden Bulgo's blade strikes true, landing a major wound.

From the hallway, you hear the deep voice mutter a curse, and an incantation. Slowly, all of the light is drained out of the hallway and entry way of the tomb. "I hired you to fight, not to stumble around! This should level the field..."
Anyone without Darkvision cannot see in the darkness. Attacking blindly in the darkness has a 50% miss chance. Having the Axemen take their turns now since they likely won't affect anything, but if Shambala's action changes things dramatically I'll consider that. Just trying to keep the combat moving forward. For all percentile rolls, use 1d100 and rolling equal or under the specified number means the effect occurs, so for 50% miss chance, 1-50 on the d100 is a miss.
The uninjured axeman has no concept of his location, and staggers forward slowly, taking a defensive posture. The axeman who was previously skewered by Bulgo attempts to blindly strike back.

"Yes, that's quite an improvement!" Retorts Sihir...
Can I see Brown Axeman and Evil Oracle from where I am, or is there a wall in the way?
Diri Lizzenbettolze |
"As you are unable to see this lesson in applied acoustics I will helpfully maximize your ability to experience it via audial means," Diri says, stepping out from behind a pillar and casting sound burst (DC 15, in the spot marked with a red square).
Sound Burst: 1d8 ⇒ 1
EDIT: Also, ninja'd
The Man Behind the Curtain |
Sihir: the pillar is kinda blocking your view, however with a 5 ft step north you can see all of them just fine with your darkvision.

Knowledge (Religion): 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (18) + 14 = 32 +2 of that is a borderline case - a bonus from a book that teaches me about identifying "undead;" I'd figure it applies since you're asking for Knowledge (Religion) rather than Knowledge (Local) in the first place. Hardly matters in this case, though.

Loving your action log - though I think the scorching ray spell is actually supposed to be more akin to "Fire phasers!"
And sound burst is probably a literal sonic boom rather than the "Sonic BOOM!" I think you're alluding to - Pathfinder doesn't really have a Guile-Boom spell (yet)...and then a longarms Qigong Power would need to be in order...Flurry of Blows covers E. Honda and Chun-Li reasonably well...Punishing Kick covers a more nasty-dispositioned Elena...Monks of the Four Winds all know what some may call "Shoryuken"...an immediate-action electrical shield hasn't quite made it in...telekinetic headstomp nowhere near in sight, even with psychic magic out...there are claw weapons, but no way to get a Climb speed with them...and no Power Word, Tiger - but that's probably just as well.
Shambala |
Sorry, living in Europe has its drawbacks when playing with US gamers :|
Shambala comes besides Diri and concentrates on the newly identified dhampir he saw before all went black. Thinking that I can thrust his mind without seeing him at the moment.

Boo-hoo, yourself - I live in a place where the election's about to come down to "The Ultimate Status-Quo Candidate At A Time When Absolutely Nobody Wants That" VS "Joke's On Us For Not Standing Up To Fascism A Couple Decades Sooner."
Shambala |
haha sorry, I didn't meant to appear rude. I just wanted to explain why I could'nt post while sleeping at the same time xD
And as we speak about elections, we also have a tough time here in switzerland with the hard right wing and fascism. However, they tend to be... more subtle than mr blonde.
Sihir Aneh |
No hard feelings, take it as praise/envy. Truth is, I feel like we should be thanking Frank-Luntzenstein's Monster - he's not saying anything that hasn't been engrained in the GOP platform for decades; he's just not bothering to "speak in dog whistle" as we say (as a matter of fact, he's the moderate next to his last primary challenger, Ted Cruz, and he's shaming everyone by daring to say things that should be common knowledge, like the line "George W Bush kept us safe" being obvious b$+!!*, or that - BLASPHEMY! - being a POW doesn't make you a "hero"). He's like the tail of a rattlesnake; the most distinctive, loudest, last-in-line, and least dangerous part of the creature. It's the front end you should watch out for, and America has disgraced itself by allowing it to reach this point when we should have called b~!+%@ on the "more subtle" vanguard decades ago (and they weren't even that subtle, so there's really no excuse).
