Quartz lobs a bomb which lands squarely on the goblins head before engulfing him in a fiery blaze
Reflex save goblin dog underneath him: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
After the fire clears you can see the goblin with smoke trailing from his body swinging a bit unsteadily on top of the naked dog.
The goblin kicks the dog in the side of it's ribcage and it backs up into the ruins

I don't think I explained the unnatural darkness at this table yet, so: Inside the structure, a magical effect swallows up light. Any light source, no matter how strong, illuminates only a 5-foot radius.
Anything beyond the 5-foot area is darkness. Ranged combat and melee attacks with reach have a 50% miss chance unless the attacker has darkvision. Creatures without darkvision take a –4 penalty on Perception checks that rely on sight.
As the goblin backs into the unnatural darkness it's clear that light has trouble penetrating deeply into it.
Sera Dragonbane |
Climb: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
Sera grumbles as she climbs up the slope, unhappy that she is unable to see through the darkness. With that, she drops her glaive to the ground free and draws Goblinskewer as part of the move. Thinking of a way to see further into the darkness she fumbles into her bag for another sunrod.
Would I be able to attach the sunrod to the edge of my longspear next turn? If so, what sort of action would that be (i.e. Could I do that as part of my next move action?)

Chaul Drammarson |
Chaul heads up the pathway, anxious to see what is causing the problems at the front. As he moves he readies his scimitar and shield.
"What is the holdup?"
Revvy Bitterleaf |
@Sera, since nothing is given on that as far as I know ..going to have to go with a full round action on that one..seems like you'd need to pull some rope out (move action) and use it tie something up on the tip of something that you'd need to manipulate to get close enough to the tip (which is going to be another action)
Sera climbs up the side of the mountain while Soulveliss moves up as well
(What people with darkvision are able to see inside:)
Half-melted blocks of green glass lie thick on the floor. A crumbling archway to the north leads into another chamber, while a door to the west leads into the round tower at the southwest corner of the building. To the east, a barricade of rubble and wooden stakes blocks a passage leading into the tower.
The rubble counts as difficult terrain inside the ruins
and fires an arrow at the retreating goblin..but it flies past and lands between the blocks of green glass on the floor where it skips and comes to a rest.
Chaul heads up the pathway, ready for combat

I'm still going by my action. Full round action to get this whole sunrod contraption set up. Next round I will run in and wack something
Stepping up five feet, and attempting to tie up the sunrod as quickly as possible, Sera curses herself for her lack of speed. In the heat of the moment, her mind switches to draconic, and so she belts out in the dragon's tongue, "Come on out fiends! Stop hiding in that blasted darkness!"

@Gunnar, I'm not sure where you are moving ..if you take a step forward you can engage either/both of them without provoking..so I'm assuming you want to set up a flank?
Since I just revisited all the ground being difficult terrain inside the ruins - see discussion, I'll hold off to see if Gunnar (he might reach where he wants to go with a single move now) and Quarts want to change actions
Revvy Bitterleaf |
Ah, sorry..I read that the other way ..that you would be subjected to an AOO from both for moving. My bad
Gunnar moves up ready to lay down the hurt while Quartz is unwilling to risk throwing anything into the darkness as he doesn't want to risk setting his own team on fire.
The goblin drops his bow and takes out a knife and tries to stick it into Chaul
to hit Chaul AC: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12

Both goblin dogs then try to tear into Chaul's legs, one going for the left one and the other one for the right.

Quartz Fizzlebang |
Quartz takes his sun stick and drops it next to Chaul and now sees the Goblins and there pet.
I think that will take a move and a standard but if i can do it in just a move i will attack too. Just let me know.
Revvy Bitterleaf |
Gunnar studies his target, but get's distracted and can't hit what he aimed for
@Soulviless, bull rush is to push someone back, not sure what kind of combat maneuver it would be to push some of their mount. But it will be a combat maneuver (Your CMB vs their CMD so unless you took a feat to be better at a specific one it doesn't matter..but unless you took the feat (which I can't see in his profile..this action will provoke and it get's a penalty equal to the damage you took). Also when someone is prone..they are more difficult to hit with a ranged attack..not much room to move him to, so I put him behind the dog.
Kon after getting the order to kill rushes forward to drag something to the ground.
The goblin takes a swipe at the ape
to hit AC ape: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
hitting the ape on the nose before it can attempt to tear the rider of

Soulviless then fires some targets at the goblin, missing with his first arrow..and then hitting him in the shoulder with the next one
Chaul tries to get the goblin to surrender, but his action do not inspire the goblin to do any such thing as the blade passes wide in front of it.
Sera twiddles her thumbs until she could step into the room without eating three attacks of opportunity.
Quartz pulls out a sunrod, lights it and tosses it forward (I agree on the move and standard to pull this of)
Both goblin dogs attack, one going for the ape..and the other for Chaul

Sera Dragonbane |
Sera will now continue to twiddle her thumbs as she is carrying a reach weapon and can't exactly hit anyone from the open space. "Quartz, would you kindly switch positions with me?"
Odd. I've never had problems with a reach weapon until now.
Quartz Fizzlebang |

Bombs Away: 1d20 + 5 + 1 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (8) + 5 + 1 + 1 - 4 = 11Vs Touch
Damage: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (1, 2) + 3 = 6
Deselecting Chaul and Kon with a precise bomb.
Edit Here is the miss
Miss: 1d8 ⇒ 2
The bomb should land in the square right behind the goblin dog Quartz threw at so they will all need to make a reflex save DC 14 for splash.
"Watch out!" Quartz says slinking back a step.
Gunnar Graubart |
For getting up the goblin provokes an AoO from Gunnar. AoO 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16 Damage 1d12 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15. Note this attack resolves before the goblin gets up and so applies the +4 modifier for being prone and should the damage kill the goblin his attack is in vain.
As the Goblin tries to rise Gunnar pummels him with a mighty blow from his hammer. The Dwarf then attempts to maul the red dog.

"good girl, and quartz how many times must I tell you be careful she us obedient and loving. Buy she is still a animal and if kon is hurt to badly she might attack."
I can't believe she even pet him and he can't even aim with bombs. .. soul thought to himself
Sera Dragonbane |
Taking a quick step forward, Sera spots the goblin and narrows her eyes. "Torag shall have thee, goblin scum!" sneering at the fact that the goblin had slight cover, she instead attack the dog
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Damage: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Revvy Bitterleaf |
Going to combine attacks/posts instead of working them out each at a time since I think most will overlap
@Soulvilles: attacking a prone target with a melee attack is a +4
As Quartz "purposely" throws a bomb behind the enemies to distract them he as an added bonus sends a sheet of flames washing over the already hurt creatures. Capitalizing on the distraction the party manages to slice through what was burnt remains where standing for as short time before they got hacked to pieces by the party's weaponry, even with some party members getting overly exited and missing with their attack the majority manages to hit and deal sufficient damage to end any opposition.
Out of combat
The goblins carried a small shortbow (with 20 arrows), a short sword, a small sized (slightly burned) leather armor and a bottle (which when examined by detect magic lights up) each (so 2 of everything).
There are 3 visible exits, the door from which the second goblin emerges, the almost impossible to pass barricade opposite it and an opening in the walls of the ruin in front of you
Chaul Drammarson |
Chaul looks at the potions "Probably healing.. " then around at the group "Anyone hurt? If so, I have some skills that may be of assistance. "
He then peers through the entrance into the tower.
Sera Dragonbane |
Going back outside to pick up Wyrmripper (the glaive's new name), Sera soon returns and frowns. "Well those fiends did not have much useful gear. Shall we go on to see if any more remain?"
Quartz Fizzlebang |

Soulveliss Sangre |
As quartz walks up to kon she takes a step back and bears her fangs
Soul quickly moves up to them "now kon you like him remember, he's the one with that pretty mule. Now you like her don't you? "
Kon looks at soul and nods her head but when she looks back at quartz she let out a small growl
"yes you do and look he is sorry for scarring you and he want to take the pain away. Also you do understand that the bombs he uses will not harm you. You saw how he threw it so it would not get you right girl?"
Kon lowers herself and takes a small step to quarts sniffing the air
"there you go see all friends here"
Soul continues to reassure her ad quartz heals kon
Once the wounds she had close up she gives a big toothy grin and picks quartz up and hugs him close...slightly using too much strength as she dose so
Laughing soul tells her "put him down you'll hurt him like that ...haha"
As she dose kon gives quartz a small punch to the shoulder and pantamimes the explosion in his face. Waging her finger she then look up at soul nodes and look to the rest of the area ...sometimes picking up a rock and pretending that it is a bomb and reacting in a favorable way to it.
Soul turn to quartz and tells him"sorry I for got to tell her you do that..ha look at her ting to get used to the idea of your bombs haha."
Soul picks up a rock and says"hay kon look out "and lobs it over head
Kon tracks it and as it hits the floor she lowers her head as if bracing for the bomb

Chaul looks into the tower and sees:
Piles of rags and bones are piled up into nest-like beds around
