As you discuss your options, you feel the ground begin to tremor a little. Earl, sensitive to the vibrations in the earth, informs Rhon that there is a large force headed towards the villa, and that they are very close. Leaving by the South gate now would be very unwise, and in a couple of minutes an encounter with the army would be unavoidable without magic.

From what I can see, Alden-on-Naala, Earl and Rand can flee with relatively little trouble by the North gate. If Matamah d-doors 42 and Rhon out after opening the doors for Alden, you can escape from the army.

That is, if you are fleeing. So then, where to? Or are you staying to fight an entire army?

We are definitely moving towards the North gate as we speak. If we still had Itimar with us I might have considered the battle but seeing as we don't I do believe leaving to be the best option.

RHon's answer it is.

Exiel's reply comes shortly after.

"Regrettable, but perhaps unavoidable. Head to Lake Tsukishizuku to the East and then follow it North where Lake meets River. I will meet you there."

Exiel's directions take you away from the army, and it takes you almost the rest of the day to get to the rendezvous point. He is bloodied and bedraggled, and he listens to your report with some disappointment, but without reproach.

"This puts us in a tricky situation, but it is what it is. We will need to take Sikutsu Itsuru into our protection now and try to find another opportunity to take out his brother as soon as we can."

"I will teleport us back to Seinaru Heikiko now where you can take your rest for the night. Tomorrow, we shall meet with Jiro-san and Hatsue-san to discuss our next move. I suppose we will need to make plans to locate and transport Itsuru-san to our camp before his brother finds him..."

With that, Exiel teleports you back to the fort of Seinaru Heikiko where he bids you good night and retires to his quarters.

Almost at the end. Let me know if you want to do anything that night or the morning before the briefing (roleplay, casting daily/social buffs, doing funny shenenigans etc.)
You don't have a wizard or cleric with you so I don't anticipate much, but Matamah and 42 might have some magic-based shenenigans to prepare.
You can consider yourselves fully healed and without any status effects.

After getting teleported and finding the Inn, 42 goes and sits down at the table. "We were getting our arshes kicked out there." he says as he pulls out his bag and sits it on the table. Feel free to use them." he sees something that catches his eye and he was about to close his bag. Pulling out another vial he looks at it for a moment. Rhon is going to requisition a Potion of Fly (750 gp) and a Potion of Remove Blindness/Deafness (750 gp).

Before combat Rhon will imbibe a Potion of Resist Fire 30 which will last 70 minutes and will coat his Dwarven Waraxe with the Oil of Keen Edge provided by 42 which will last 60 minutes. I still have one Potion of Resist Fire 20 if someone wants it.

You are not in combat yet, nor are you expecting combat right now. You are going to the war room at your headquarters to attend a debrief for your attack on Shuryo Onsen and to be discuss your next steps.

When morning comes, you are summoned to the war room to meet with Exiel of Xa Hoi, Hirabashi Jiro and Habesuta Hatsue.

As you give your report again to the ronin and his lieutenant, Rand expresses his regret at the way things turn out, but his allies are quick to defend him. Exiel nods in agreement, but it is Habesuta who speaks.

"You did as honor required, and nearly paid for it with your life," the lieutenant says with a wan smile. "Things turned out badly, but I do not think you did anything wrong."

"There is more at stake here than one man's honor," Hirabashi replies sullenly, though without direct reproach.

This is not a judgment on my part, but a reflection of the 2 characters' differing views on honor and duty.

"There was no right or wrong there, Jiro-san, and there is no sense in laying blame amongst ourselves. We are among friends here, and the situation is what it is. We must move forward and make the best of it that we can," Exiel says in a soothing voice, and 42 and Alden are reminded that the paladin-sorcerer always had a remarkable way with words.

"Our first priority should be to find Sikutsu Itsuru and bring him here where we can protect him. 42 and Matamah, what magic do you have by way of divination and long-distance dimension transport?"

"Divination? Unforunately, that's not how I have studied. Again, a purchased wheelhouse is key to unlocking all the mysteries of the world."

Might purchase some scrolls of Scry as well. Some chipping in may be appreciated here. ;)

Before Exiel can finish his sentence, a loud horn blares in the distance. Exiel, Jiro and Hatsue exchange surprised looks as a young lad bursts into the room.

"We are under attack! They're coming from the mountains and another force is approaching the gate!"

As you rise to your feet, you hear a loud boom a horrible screeching sound.

"They've found us!? How!" Jiro demands of no one in particular.

"More importantly, if they're moving against us, there is a good chance that they might be targeting Sikutsu Itsuru as well. He is vital to our rebellion! We must send a small force to find him and bring him here immediately, assuming we are not already too late!" Hatsue interjects.

"Your men are fighting and dying as we speak!" Exiel objects.

"That's why I'm only sending one person. You. Go to your contact in Sakakabe, get what you need and find Sikutsu Itsuru! Your magic is well-suited to this task. The rest of us, we need to get out there right now and defend this fortress!"

Exiel begins to protest, but instead nods and begins casting a spell as Jiro and Hatsue wave you out!

"Enemy vanguard in the courtyard!" a young man yells as he stumbles into the room, pushing past the first messenger. He is covered in blood and clutching his gut where a shaft of an arrow has been snapped off.

"To the courtyard! Hurry!" Jiro yells.

I'll assume Alden and Rand waited for Matamah's haste.

Exiel completes his spell and disappears from sight. I really want to have Exiel help you guys, but this is PFS so I can't have have characters from beyond the module directly involved in combat. =(

Rand dashes to the open door to the West and pokes his head out. The scene that greets him is one of fire and carnage. Throughout the compound, rebel soldiers deal battle are battling lightly armored soldiers bearing the insignia of the Sikutsu clan, or trading arrow shots with tengu flying in the sky. More Sikutsu soldiers are rappeling down the mountainside, but it seems that throughout the compound, the battle is quite even, save for one area.

In the middle of the compound, 4 giant figures cut a bloody swathe through the defenders as they float in the air just above the battle below. Two of them are red-skinned with 2 heads each, and they swing enormous monk spade as they float in the air. A third seems covered in flames and swings a mighty tetsubo that stirs the dust around him with every swing. And finally, there is a familiar blue ogre mage carrying a man in jade green armor that Rand recognises all too well... He notices Rand at about the same time the monk notices him.

Tien:
"Well, well! If it isn't the pig I gutted the other day. I must thank you. The blood you poured on my lawn was most useful in helping us find this place. But it seems I did not kill you as I had thought. How fortunate that I get to correct that mistake today!"

As he speaks, one of the 2-headed giants points a finger in Rand's direction. Suddenly, thick rubbery tentacles burst up from the ground to grasp at the monk.

The tentacles fail to grab the monk, but create difficult terrain for him as the whip about from every direction.

Rhon double moves bringing himself just out into the courtyard where he enters his Defensive Stance free action with his axe and shield at the ready.

"Come get some of my axe!" I hope I am able to draw their attention long enough to gain some help out here.

Hatsue and Jiro jump to their feet and begin racing towards the nearer door. Hatsue casts a spell on Jiro's katana whilse the samurai quaffs a potion. Both gasp when they see the enemies in the courtyard through the open door.

"Oni!" snarls Hatsue in disgust. Jiro merely grunts grimly.

42 has no idea what the firey one is, and is only barely able to recognise the two-headed oni as Atamahuta oni, fearsome giants whose twin heads allow them to wield twin weapons with great efficacy. 1 question.
