Exiel uses the heightened awareness spell as well. Just make a note in your character info (the bits under your name when you post) when you intend to use your spell to boost your next initiative roll. =)

Try to finish your purchases before you read the gameplay thread...

General item recommendations:

Headband +2 - 4000 (surprised you don't have this yet)
upgrade cloak of resistance to +3 - 5000
Upgrade amulet of natural armour to +2 - 6000
Consider scribing featherfall and memorising it as a spell so you can buy a ring of protection +2 (I really think you need more AC)
Pearl of power 2 - 4000 (bladed dash is your pounce, and pounce is awesome)

Stock up on situational potions. Fly, lesser restoration, remove blindness etc.

My level 13 character, Exiel, has nearly died twice in his Pathfinder career. The first time was when the floor below him caved in, and he landed on four stakes, was bleeding out (1hp from death) and a hungry ghoul standing over him. The second time was when the boat he was on was capsized in a surprise round and two dragon turtles blasted the party with their breath weapons in the same first round. This was a live game, and the only thing that saved him was a decision that I made literally 5 minutes earlier to buy a ring of evasion. It paid for itself almost instantly!

I decided that giving the turtles surprise would be too evil, but even so, all that heavy armor is really working against you right now!

I actually think the surprise factor potentially makes this the hardest fight in the book. But don't go thinking that the other fights will easy just because I said this! =)

Hmm...in the end what screwed you over was the book itself. It says the island is "half-shrouded by mist", which I take to mean that you can see where you are going, but that visibility isn't great. At 2000ft or 500m, even light fog will make it hard to see any meaningful detail for a teleport destination. Sorry Itamar. It looks like the author didn't want to make it easy to teleport on to the island. =(

Bites are bludgeoning, slashing, and piercing, whichever is best. Claws are slashing.

All of that assumes the base rules for natural attacks.

So I just want to be sure I am getting this right. The guy walked in, made mention of our game, and with a laugh disappears. As he disappears we all find ourselves in shadow walled 5 x 5 individual partitions. The shadowed partitions seem to move through space as evidenced by rushing air coming through the shadow partitions. The partitioned areas all come to a halt with us being unable to see anyone outside of our individually partitioned spaces.

Thanks for the hard work, though! I know what it's like to run these kinds of encounters (although not by PbP). For what it's worth, it's pretty crazy but very cool (exactly what I'd expect going to a high level wizard's mansion).

Guys, I'm still here. But I don't know how active I can be over the next few days. I am going to be going through hell over the next few months trying to win custody of my unborn child. I told Fiddler what my plans are for this battle and I'll try to chime in every once in a while. But I have to get started on this battle and find an English speaking lawyer in Japan.
