Fandral can still get his skill bonus, just put the topic you learned the most about into your conversation in your next post.

★★★OVERSEER ANNOUNCEMENT★★★
The front doors of Skyreach burst open with a loud crack. Venture-Captain Ambrus Valsin strides to the edge of the platform, with a slender elf dressed in practical but expensive clothing trailing meekly behind. The red-faced venture-captain addresses the crowd in a booming voice.
“Pathfinders, I regret interrupting the festivities, but we have something of a situation. Approximately twenty minutes ago, unknown forces invaded the Blakros Museum. Fortunately for everyone involved, the Torchbearing is about cooperation and helping our colleagues, so let’s think of this less as an inconvenience and more as an opportunity to practice what we preach.”
The elf, Nigel, exhales sharply, then speaks, “Now, Ambrus, I’ve spent a king’s ransom fortifying the museum from all sorts of invaders: sentinels from the Golemworks, magical wards from the Arcanamirium, and even contracts for guard beasts, both magical and mundane—spared no expense. I didn’t want to come here, but I’ve got no choice.”
Valsin’s forced smile cracks slightly, showing his annoyance. “Out with it, Nigel. Get to the point.”
“Someone broke into my museum and set off the magical protections! I was preserving priceless Shining Crusade pieces for our new exhibit when the first alarm activated. I sent for district guards and went to investigate, but by the time I arrived, the thieves had already locked themselves in my study. They somehow caused the Shining Crusade relics to fly around the museum and attack my sentinels. Everything is going haywire! The magical traps started to target me, the sentinels are not responding to my commands, and—”
Valsin holds out a hand to steady the increasingly agitated elf. “The last you knew, the thieves were still in your study?” Nigel nods. “Very well. Pathfinders: the Seekers should prepare to teleport directly into the Blakros study—“
“That won’t work,” Nigel interrupts, “The study is magically sealed. After that dreadful Numerian exhibit, I turned it into a magical safe room. The robbers must have figured out how to activate it; no one can get in or out while the wards hold. I can work on breaking the wards, but meanwhile my sentinels are smashing up the collection. Some of those priceless relics are on loan from your own Society lodges, so helping me is really helping yourselves.”
“Fine.” Ambrus Valsin takes a deep breath and then turns to the assembled Pathfinders. “Pathfinders, go to the Blakros Museum, secure any relics you can, disable the security systems, and apprehend the looters if possible. Stay safe.”
@Table GMs: You have until October 15 to run Part A on page 10 and Part B on page 14, in whatever order you choose.

"I'm familiar with the Blakros Museum and Master Aldain from earlier in my Pathfinder career, Holly. I think it's time to go, but before we do ..."
"HEY NIGEL!" Calistria's Shrinking Violet hollers. "WHAT EXACTLY ARE YOUR SENTINELS? ROBOTS OR SOMETHING ELSE?"
"AND WHEN YOU SAY, 'RELICS' FROM THE SHINING CRUSADE, DO YOU MEAN SUITS OF ARMOR OR WHAT?"
Still fussing with my prepared spell list, GM Michael. But I will finalise it shortly.
MichaelCullen |
Feel free to put up whatever long term buff you would like on your transit to the museum. Just put them in your post somehow.
-----APPROACHING THE MUSEUM-----
Dozens of Wise District guards surround the Blakros Museum. The sergeant nods to Ambrus Valsin as he approaches, a subtle smirk dancing across the venture-captain’s face. The museum itself is alight with swirling whorls of color and the sounds of metal and stone clashing. Occasionally, brief flashes of light burst from the front entrance, illuminating a toppled banner that says “Legacy of the Shining Crusade.”
The broad-shouldered, middle-aged Ulfen man salutes, a somewhat bemused expression on his face. “Well met, Venture-Captain Valsin. I am Svaralk of Asleifar, Sergeant of the Learned Guard. The Guard appreciates your assistance.” He points to his subordinates, “Our initial attempt to quell the animated relics within failed. I’ve ordered the Guard to withdraw and form a perimeter.”
Ambrus Valsin returns the sergeant’s salute, a gesture of mutual respect. “You once served in Grand Prince Stavian III’s Ulfen Guard, did you not?”
Svaralk nods, “That’s right. Afterwards, I retired to Absalom and have served this city for seven years. This is not the first catastrophe I’ve responded to at the Blakros Museum, though none has been quite so dramatic as this. As if anyone needed further proof of the museum’s reputation for trouble.”
The Ulfen confides to the Venture-Captain, “After Nigel Aldain harangued me for dereliction of duty in not immediately retaking the museum, I’m in no rush to sacrifice the lives under my command until the warring creatures inside wear each other down.” He holds up a hand and shakes his head, “I don’t hold Nigel Aldain’s outburst against him. I recognize the elf is rightfully concerned—albeit rather precious—about his exhibit.”
Svaralk turns to your team of Pathfinders and says, “Before you enter, I can provide you an overview of the museum’s layout and tell you that there are animated relics and guard animals on the ground level, and clockwork creatures skirmishing with each other on the floor above. We also have an especially challenging problem in the gardens at the southeast corner of the museum grounds. Some kind of magical runes displaying swarm-like behavior, more magical devices really than living creatures. They proved too complicated a challenge for me and my guards; we simply lacked the skills to disable them.”
Amaranti |
"Amaranti once in museum. Very boring. Not happy go again" the Garundi grumbles, and prods his eidolon with a wand of mage armor, and then enchants himself with heroism
Listening to the sergeants story, boredom starts to disappear from Amaranti's face. This all sounds much, much more exciting than last time. "Sound good. Tell more of creatures. How we kill?
Holly Day |
"An overview of the museum's current layout would be most helpful Sergeant Svaralk. As my compatriot asked in his own way, do you know what guardians Nigel has put in place? That is if he was kind enough to divulge that information to you. Otherwise we shall see if he is willing to let us know what specific types of guardians he has put in place."
"Should we find who or what has broken into the museum, what would you prefer; them brought to you and your men or just taken directly to jail?"
Holly will cast Good Hope on the entire group just prior to entering the museum. This spell lasts for 10 minutes.

Avelina remembers an exhaustive amount about the Blakros family, having been offered the hands of one of their daughters in thanks for Avelina's heroics during the Numerian exhibit affair and the wedding fiasco. She had seriously considered the offer and done her due diligence on informing herself of the family's history and holdings, but she ultimately could never dream of giving up her family name. She gives her associates an exhaustive description of the family as they travel to the museum, bringing special attention to the fact that the family has been known to associate with unsavory groups such as the Onyx Alliance and House Thrune.
Avelina frowns as she listens to the briefing of the current situation at the museum.
"I swear, when will this Nigel finally lose his job. He's even more incompetant than most men."
@GM Avelina will cast Mage Armor (lasts 11 hours), heroism using her lesser extend rod (lasts 220 minutes and is a +3 bonus for her because of heroic echo), freedom of movement from her wand, expending a 5th level spell slot to Razmiran Channel it and not expend a charge (80 minutes and she taps the UMD), and threefold aspect (staying in maiden form for a net +2 dex and -2 to wisdom). She will also change her glamered armor to its military appearance: a set of Iomedaean full plate

Fandral finds that his blade barely misses, glancing off a whirling gear near its shoulder.
Giovanni steps up, and with his chain, he first slings it’s legs knocking it prone. Then with a mighty heave, Giovanni yanks the chain sliding the construct along the ground. The fumbling of the golem, opens moments for Fandral to strike.

Holly double moves with the final 10 feet of movement provoking an attack of opportunity due to leaving threatened squares. Acrobatics w/ Daredevil Boots: 1d20 + 28 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 28 + 5 = 35
Amaranti |
Amaranti is riding Kaisharga, so I grouped the tokens. Is Luisila's position on the map after her delay? In other words, did Amaranti have a charge line to the enemy? Also, if the room is a least 15' high, A+K can fly over Luisila.
"Look like tin can. Need punch hard, to make hurt!"
Amaranti grabs his lance with both hands, preparing to put his bulk behind it. Then a voiceless command to Kaisharga, and the pair starts moving. The eidolon sprouts two pairs of leathery wings, resembling those of a dragonfly (albeit a big one). With a ear-splitting buzz, the enormous creature takes flight.
Laughing like mad, Amaranti spurs Kaisharga into a charge. The two of them rush through the air, and Amaranti drives his lance through his enemy, aiming at whatever could work as a heart.

Remembering metal creatures from before, Amaranti knows he'll need to charge if he wants to make any damage. He commands Kaisharga to move into better position, while he casts a spell to help all of the party.
Cast haste on Amaranti, Kaisharga, Holly day, Giovanni, and Fandral

So, though Holly would normally provoke with that acrobatics, the construct is currently grappling so he refrains from doing so.
Amaranti gets his mighty charge off but the creature’s advanced plating just barely manages to deflect the blow. Missed by 1, being advanced it’s AC is 4 higher than the base creature, normal AC of 26, +4 advanced, -4 prone, -2 grappling =24

slashing dmg - DR 5/bludgeoning: 12d6 - 5 ⇒ (2, 6, 4, 4, 2, 4, 6, 4, 1, 2, 4, 4) - 5 = 38
Luisila stands steadfastly through the metal storm, the orbiting owl skull lending its voice to her mezzosoprano screams.
Far more worried about Giovanni than herself, the priestess waits anxiously to see what aid she can provide him.

Luisila, you can keep the damage you rolled.
explosion: 12d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 1, 6, 5, 5, 5, 6, 1, 5, 4, 6) = 48
I’m not sure what happened, the damage in that post had been 56, so I guess it is good that I had messed something up.
Giovanni, the negative level reduces your max HP by 5 as well so your current max HP is 89, with 101 damage you are at -12. Still alive ;)

Thank-you, GM Michael! In future, do you want me to wait until you roll? I was just thinking to take some of the load off your shoulders.
Seeing Giovanni hanging on, Luisila immediately channels healing for all.
Channel Healing: 6d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 3, 3, 5, 3) = 21
You here a metallic *clang* as Luisila flicks her wrist dropping a CLW wand into her right hand.
"Who's got a healing wand they want me to use? I think we should hurry before the next one hits us."
CLW wand on Giovanni: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
GM Michael, are you at liberty to say how many rounds we have to heal etc. or do you just want us to keep preforming actions until you say stop?
CLW wand on Luisila: 2d8 + 2 ⇒ (3, 3) + 2 = 8
CLW wand on Luisila: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
CLW wand on Luisila: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

Holly walks over to Giovanni. "Oh my, you poor man. Here let me help tend to your wounds."
Wand of Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Wand of Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Wand of Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Wand of Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Wand of Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Wand of Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Wand of Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Wand of Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Wand of Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Wand of Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Providing there is time Holly will expend ten charges of her Wand of Cure Light Wounds to help patch up Giovanni.

No, it was a mistake on my part. I was typing up the post as I was putting our 7 month old to sleep. I miss formatted it and though I fixed it, turns out I screwed up a different part of the formatting in the process. Which is a good thing, because I’m pretty sure the damage was more.

"Holly, are you hurt?"
Holly Day |
"Just a bit of flesh wound thanks to your quick reaction."
Yes, Holly took 24 damage but the channel leaves her with just a mere 3 HP of damage remaining.
