"They are clearly some sort of power source." Octaris says, knowingly, as he flies along behind Rhyol to see into the next room.
"Though looks like someone messed up that last one." He adds.
"Then again, look at the place." He glances upwards at the barely contained Maelstrom. "They messed up far more than that."
He will continue to dog the thoqqua, as the she opens the doors.
Rhyol 'Volcano' the Thoqqua
Rhyol seems to calm a bit at Jamila's gentle touch and her words. "Yes, I will... try to be patient. The idea is a new one to me." Leaving the others to investigate the armor and its treasures, the thoqqua moves to the next door when the others are ready and opens it.

"Can't say I know who it is either, Zephir."
She dances around, flitting from shoulder to shoulder as she joins those examining what she thinks is most interesting at any given moment.

Spellcraft DC20: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Unable to determine the magical nature of the vambrace, Zephir continues to explore the area.
This place looks like an ancient Palace of some sort. I'm curious to know how it comes with the plane of Chaos...
Rhyol 'Volcano' the Thoqqua
Rhyol grunts in frustration. "Where are those that dwell here? Those that must pay in blood for what they have done!? Raaaagh!" The thoqqua lunges toward the next door, the soothing words of Jamila already fading as the barbarian's rage surges forth, barely held in check as she slams her bulk into the next door!
VileLackey
"We need to turn off the big guy there." Octaris says, nodding back towards the maelstrom.
"So we either put it back in its bottle, or unlock the shackle. Either should work!"
"If there was a bottle, it is long gone now." He adds, with a thoughtful frown, before pointing at the nearest crystal. "Those things there seem like the shackles though."
I'm just making stuff up here... no clue what's actually going on =) But Octaris seems the type to fake it 'til he makes it.

As the party moves to the next room, you see he shelves of this library hover and hang from the walls at a variety of artistic angles. Each shelf contains a minor magical effect that directs gravity toward its back, both preventing the contents from tumbling out, as well as preventing the books from degrading over time.
Most of the knowledge contained in the volumes here is esoteric and extraordinarily specific. Volumes with titles such as Breathing, Volume XI: Concerning the Respiration of Mephits and Fruit of the Forest of Oils: A Treatise on the Safe Harvesting of Unknown Alchemical Reagents Suspended in Water are common. Among the sea of knowledge, you can find a few more basic volumes that are of more immediate use.
Jamila.
perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23
Jamila fingers her way through the assorted books before coming across an old ledger. Something about it catches her eye and as she inspected it she relays her findings to the group. This library once belonged to a djinni named Pahwal ijil Ranginori, who was aparantly a devout worshiper of someone called Ranginori. I am not familiar with this being, are any of you?
PREGEN - PFS -
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18
So, Pahwal Ijil Ranginori, the same name of a divine being called Ranjinori... says out loud Zephir.
I know, that millennia back there was balance in the element. To each evil lord of element was a good one. But some day, all the good lords disappeared and imbalance come to the Elemental planes... May be this place date from this time, where a good lord of air was the equal of the evil one and may be this Ranginori was this good lord.
I was looking a clue to prove the good lord existed but never had the chance to find one! May be it is what I was looking for for so long?
Rhyol 'Volcano' the Thoqqua
Rhyol pauses long enough for the others to search the library, though she clearly chafes at the delay, turning to face the next unopened door several times as the group speaks of djinnis and elemental lords both evil and good. The thoqqua is disappointed that they haven't run across either kind! "Enough! Let's see what the next door reveals!" Rhyol slides across the floor and slams open the last door in this tower.
GM Tektite
As Rhyol opens the last door, sparks start emerging from the crystals in each room! Anyone in the main room notices a lightning pattern growing within the cyclone and a sensible charge fills the air!
Within the last room dragon statuettes made of multicolored crystal hover in this room. Its walls, floors, and ceiling are covered in a hovering layer of small crystal fragments. In the center of room hovers an identical blue crystal, arcing wo1 th electricty.
Once the final door is fully open, the crystals in each of the rooms of the tower buzz and hum with electricity, sending arcs into the air as spectral djinn move about the central area!

Ember the micro-dragon
|
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30
Ember observes the Djinni and the pattern of lightning, and comes to a realization. "This is a haunt of some kind! The cyclone is powering it, sending spiritual energy off like a dynamo! Hmm... something seems unusual about this one though..." The little dragon studies the crackling patterns of electricity carefully, thinking about everything she's studied about the elemental planes, and the revelations Jamila and Zephir came to about Ranginori.
Knowledge(planes: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22
"Eureka! The 'haunt' is a resonance of this good elemental lord of air, not of negative energy like most haunts. Positive energy won't affect it -- spells of alignments other than good and elements other than air will be effective! Attacks from devoted followers of other elemental lords may work as well."
The pyrausta begins a fiery dance, swirling her scarves and producing a magical aura that will heighten the effects of any fire spells or effects.
Firedancer’s Scarves This set of red, orange, and gold scarves mimics the
motion of fire. Ember may activate these scarves as a standard action
with a successful DC 12 Perform (dance) check. As long as she spends
a move action to dance each round, all fires (including all fire spells
and effects) within 30 feet of her deal 1 additional point of damage.
Rhyol 'Volcano' the Thoqqua
Rhyol's snake-like body whips around as the air around begins to hum with a palpable energy, arcs of electricity flickering past her as she spins to face this threat. The thoqqua is vaguely aware of Ember's observations, but most of the words wash past her, as spells and manipulating elemental energy is entirely foreign to the warrior. THIS is a worthy opponent to fight!
Allowing her pent-up rage to swell within her, Rhyol grows enormous, then surges forward and slams the djinn with her molten body!
Let's pull out the stops here - though of course Rhyol can't know that all of this may be for naught, considering that her foe is a haunt... Still, will begin Rage (free action) this round with Phreatic Expansion to gain Large size and use one charge of the token of fury (swift action) to attack the djinn.
Slam attack DRR: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (9) + 13 = 22 vs AC
Slam damage DRR: 4d6 + 11 ⇒ (3, 4, 4, 4) + 11 = 26 bludgeoning + Burn
Burn damage DRR: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 fire + 1d6 damage for Rounds: 1d4 ⇒ 2 rounds (at the start of its turn, DC 17 Reflex save avoids)
Rhyol 'Volcano' the Thoqqua
"Aaaugh! The storm dweller in this tower is a coward! So says Rhyol! Come and meet me in battle, or I will smash every last one of your crystals!" The maddened thoqqua rumbles through the door behind her, smashing at the crystal with her huge, molten body. But in her towering rage, she completely misses the crystal, which only serves to aggravate Rhyol even further!
Slam attack DRR: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (1) + 13 = 14 vs AC
Slam damage DRR: 2d6 + 11 ⇒ (1, 5) + 11 = 17 = bludgeoning + Burn
Burn damage DRR: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6 fire + 1d6 damage for Rounds: 1d4 ⇒ 3 rounds (at the start of its turn, DC 17 Reflex save avoids - probably doesn't apply to crystals, though...)
Ha! Got so mad she rolled a '1' on the attack roll. :)
VileLackey
Drops of water vapor and moisture start to swirl and eddy around where Octaris flutters in the air on the far side of the room. They quickly gather around the little mephit until they form a ball on the ends of his hands.
With a gleeful cry, he thrusts out his arms, and sends a ball of liquid racing across the room, past Ember, towards the crystal in the first room they investigated with the capped pipes.
Water kinetic blast!
Ranged attack: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (1) + 14 = 15, for 3d6 + 8 ⇒ (2, 3, 5) + 8 = 18 damage.
Well shoot, I rolled a 1 too!
GM Tektite
Rhyol moves to nearest crystal and smashes it with a fiery fist! The blue crystal breaks into hundreds of tiny shards and falls to the ground!
It appears the cyclone lessens ever so slightly!
Jamila turns and darts off after the next nearest crystal!
Octaris finds another crystals and blasts it with water, destroying it as well!
Good thing you guys don't need attack roll to hit the inanimate crystals
Ember, Krakos and Zephir are up!

Zephyr calls the power of the storm to destroy the crystal in front of him.
Call Lighting Storm
This spell is a 1 round cast, so he starts casting. Call Lightning Storm. The damage will go off right before your turn... I will give you the results when you post!
FYI - folks I am going back over this encounter, and nothing in it says that you don't roll to hit the inanimate objects. In fact, the rules on smashing an object clearly state you roll vs AC. So... unfortunately, Rhyol and Octaris have both missed. In either case, they would not have been destroyed, due to hardness, etc. Sorry about that!
Krakos moves up, and smashes the crystal with his morningstar. He hits is solidly, and it explodes into a shower of shards!
Krakos, please update your tagline
Krakos Fort Save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
As you shatter the crystal, you realize it is your connection to Ayrsul that has done it more than your physical prowess. You are assaulted with visions showing various images of earth triumphing over air, such as mountain rising up to swallow a tornado, and they culminate when a lion-headed cloud serpent being is surrounded in a wooden cage that rapidly transforms into crystalline stone.
You are stunned for 1 round
Then, the crystals and the maelstrom explode with lightning bolts, filling the room!
Ember Reflex: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (3) + 12 = 15 Fail!
Jamila Reflex: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20 Success for half!
Krakos Reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13 Fail!

Rhyol Reflex: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10 Fail!

Zot!
So the one by Krakos is destroyed now? Just 4 left?
Octaris lets out a squeal of distress as the lightning plays about the room, zapping them all!
"Ahhhh! destroy them! Quickly!" He cries.
Still smoking, he flys over for a clearer view of the crystal in the library room, and conjures up a second blast of water, sending it at that crystal.
Water Blast the library crystal... hopefully not rolling a 1 this time =)
water blast, PBS, bard: 1d20 + 14 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 14 + 1 + 2 = 22, for 3d6 + 8 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (1, 3, 3) + 8 + 1 + 2 = 18 damage.

Yes, Krakos definitely destroyed his!
A smoldering Octaris rares back, and casts his water blast spell at the crystal in the library. He hits it, squarely, and causes it to crack, but it it is not yet destroyed. Water flies everywhere in the library!

In her towering rage, she slams her body into the crystal again, determined to destroy the artifact that she deems is at least partially responsible for the agonizing lightning bolt that caused her such grievous injury.

I didn't bother rolling Burn damage, since it's likely not applicable with the crystals. My attack and damage rolls are still stinking it up, though... Note that Rhyol is in her 3rd round of rage, so her HP are currently 74. My stats bar above should be fully updated - let me know if you see something out of place.

Ember ended the performance, see retcon below.
burn: 1d6 ⇒ 4 -- actually it is very applicable!
Rhyol slams into the crystal near her, dealing it a decent bit of damage. Surprisingly, though thy crystal seems as hard as steel, her fire damages it without being reduced! The crystal is now very heavily damaged.
@Ember Ember does still take the brunt of the electrical assault as she ends her permformance.
Jamila believes that someone skilled at disabling traps could wedge the crystals out of their sockets, or that perhaps someone skilled in arcana could figure out a good way to turn them off magically. (Disable Device or Kn:Arcana checks as standard actions).

Oooh! That was unexpected, then. I rolled the 1d4 to determine how many rounds the 'burn' would go on for with this hit, and I'm guessing that the second one won't stack with the first, but instead will just continue the effect of 1d6 each round.
