Victory in the Ruby Phoenix Tournament earned the Pathfinder Society a pick of the legendary treasures of the Tian sorceress Hao Jin, and the Decemvirate knew just what item to select: a frayed and dirty tapestry hidden deep in Hao Jin’s vault.

This unassuming tapestry acts as a doorway to another dimension in which Hao Jin stored her most massive items, including entire buildings, battlefields, and the ruins of ancient civilizations. The Pathfinder Society is now methodically exploring and cataloging the diverse locales tucked within this extradimensional space.

Deep beneath Absalom’s Grand Lodge, the Pathfinder Society’s Master of Spells, Aram Zey, gestures at the tapestry hung on the wall, surrounded by ladders and scaffolds. Scholars and diviners scurry around the tapestry, analyzing its abstract patterns and comparing insights. Zey snaps his finger to quiet the room and speaks rapidly.

"The aasimar nation of Tianjing contains a handful of temples to Korada, Empyreal Lord of forgiveness and foresight. The Pathfinder Society is interested in exploring these holy sites, but the aasimar disciples in Tianjing are reluctant to grant the Pathfinder Society full access to their faith’s secrets. Fortunately, the custodian council of Tianjing gifted one such temple to Hao Jin centuries ago. This temple — the Temple of Empyreal Enlightenment — now sits vacant within the museum demiplane of the Hao Jin Tapestry. We need well-trained explorers to survey the isolated and abandoned site. We will transport you to the Temple of Empyreal Enlightenment within the Hao Jin Tapestry and provide you with a small cache of supplies."

"We need a complete report on the temple with a focus on four key locations. First, locate the temple’s meditation room, find evidence of any meditative techniques described there, and record any effects of performing those techniques. Second, prepare a comprehensive catalog of all works in the temple library. Third, find the temple gardens and draft a detailed plan of the garden’s layout. Finally, enter the temple’s crypt and take rubbings of the carvings on each sarcophagus. "

"You will enter the tapestry within the hour. Any questions?"

Knowledge (history) DC 15:
Tianjing is a nation of a asimars in the Dragon Empires. The empire of Lung Wa protected, rather than conquered, Tianjing, allowing philosophy and arts to flourish in the aasimar nation.

Knowledge (history) DC 20:
Several centuries ago, Hao Jin performed a great service for Tianjing’s custodian council. In gratitude, the council presented the sorceress with a temple of Korada, the Temple of Empyreal Enlightenment, to add to her collection.

Knowledge (history) DC 25:
The temple to Korada was not a difficult gift for the custodian council to provide, as their architects were already designing a new temple to Korada that would replace the Temple of Empyreal Enlightenment anyway.

Knowledge (religion) DC 15:
Korada is the Empyreal Lord of foresight, forgiveness, and peace. He is a force of good, dedicated to peace and contemplation. Korada spends his time meditating in the Dream Lotus on the plane of Nirvana, balancing the spheres of existence in his mind and conversing with other enlightened beings.

Knowledge (religion) DC 20:
Devotees of Korada are scholars and mystics who are often contemplative pacifists. Korada’s worshipers meditate by spinning small glass spheres in their palms. Practiced disciples spin three glass spheres in each hand simultaneously while meditating.

Knowledge (religion) DC 25:
The Spiral of Korada is a symbol sacred to the Empyreal Lord. The Spiral of Korada is an outward-sweeping arc balancing three circles. The circles represent reflection on the past, focus on the present, and contemplation of the future. This symbol is often prominently displayed in temples to the Empyreal Lord, and devotees take care to keep the sacred symbol unobstructed.

Seemingly human at first, but with strange flashes in his eyes, at times red, then blue, then brown, Pa-Us is soon determined by you as being a Suli.
Wearing colorful Keleshite desert-clothes - robe, slippers, turban... - he bears two leather bandoliers across his chest - one with over a half a dozen flasks, the other with a wand in it - but has no armor.
Two well made Masterwork but strange and rare weapons are attached by straps to his back:
- an unusual sword with a straight 2-foot-long blade with six shorter L-shaped blades protruding from it, three on each side in a staggered pattern - a Seven-Branched sword made of Cold Iron ;
- a "whip" made of Silver bars linked together, the final bar is a 6-inch weighted spike - a Nine-Section Whip made of Alchemical Silver, which bears colorful strips of cloth attached to it.
"Well met, Master Aram Zey. I am Pa'Us, sent by the Sovereign Court," - he touches his Wayfinder - "by Apsu I am curious to explore this Meditation Room, but have no questions. Together we shall Cooperate, Explore, and Report all to you".

Small even for his race, Tellerin makes up for what he lacks in stature with an exuberance in attitude and motion that bleeds into everything he does. Tellerin is a dark skinned gnome of 3' 2" with bright golden eyes and a roughly cut scraggle of short blond hair. Tiny golden and copper ornaments hang out of his hair and across his thin vest, each one an abstract twisting shape that glitters gaudily. In contrast, his explorer's garb is dusty and worn and has been adjusted to expose his arms to the elements. Upon his arms are an assortment of intricate scarlet tattoos, depicting swirling flames and a fox mid-dance.

No knowledge checks for me :<

"I've never head of this temple before, but I guess its no surprise if its hidden in a demi-plane. Its always surprising how far the rich and powerful go to keep their wealth safe." Tellerin crosses his arms, unhappy at all the mysteries that could be hidden like this without anyone ever finding them.

To Aram Zey, Tellerin responds "This sounds like quite the task, but it also sounds like something you'd send trained academics and archaeologists to do, not explorers like us. Unless..." He smooths out his eyebrows as he thinks "Do you expect there to be anything dangerous at this temple? Also, has anyone else from the Society gone to investigate it yet?"

He listens with curiosity for the answers and then responds "I'm eager to take a look at this place if we're one of the first in a long time. There could be a good story there to uncover, maybe the tale of its founding, or how it ended up inside a tapestry... or something more juicy?" Tellerin's eyes flare with excitement at the possibility of a dramatic tale to be found and told.

Standing at the back of the group, a woman of exotic beauty; flawless porcelain skin and long flowing black hair neatly combed in order to frame her face. Her face holds no blemish but it is not hard to notice her eyes, for they are different colour; One is a bright sapphire blue, whilst the other is a deep emerald green, a fact she accents with a turquoise shade of lipstick. She wears flowing robes made of the finest Tien silk which hug her figure, but her demeanour and accent marks her out as a local to Absalom.

Staring wistfully at Aram Zey, Fialka hangs on to his every word. She truly admired the man and his teachings rounded off her dabblings whils growing up in the Arcanorium. Smiling broadly, Fialka gives a soft laugh at the Gnome's questions.

"Well isn't it a good job some of us here are scholars rather than warriors?" she says softly, beofre pondering what she knows. "Ahh, the Temple of Enlightenment. A gift from the council of Tianjing, a nature protected by the Empire of Lung Wa for its art and culture. The temple was due to be replaced when it was gifted to Hao Jin, so the council did not see it as a loss."

She frowns slightly, as she realises she knows little about the god it is dedicated too. "Korada is one of the Empryeal Lords, his time is devoted to discussion and contemplation. Foresight, Forgiveness and Peace are his mantle."

"We have no reason to think that the temple is occupied. The temple is likely uninhabited except by ancient guardians or traps, although I suppose some scavengers may have found their way into the structure. That's the reason why a team of explorers may be more successful in case of incidents. Somehow Hao Jin created her museum demiplane with an environment identical to Golarion’s. It has air, weather, and gravity just as you’d expect. However, in the centuries since Hao Jin’s disappearance, the weather patterns within much of the tapestry demiplane have shifted, so we’re uncertain of the precise environment around the Temple of Empyreal Enlightenment. I expect a full exploration might take several days, depending on the condition of the temple. Take all the time you need. And just in case you worry about getting back. A creature entering the tapestry leaves a planar eddy in its wake. It looks like a ball of light about two feet across. The planar eddy is visible and usable only by that creature as long as it remains alive. Enter your planar eddy to return here." Aram Zey tries to answer your questions.

"The Pathfinder Society gives you plenty of food, water, ink, charcoal, parchment, rice paper, and measuring twine. If you need something else, it's at your expense."

At Fialka's explanation he says "Thanks, uh... Fialka, was it? That sounds like a very peaceful change of hands for the temple. Fitting, I guess, for a temple to Korada." He looks a bit glum that it isn't something more exciting.

He briefly checks through his gear. While he does so he asks "What happens if we touch other people's planar eddies? Or if we find one in there that isn't one of ours? If they can move you between planes they sound pretty dangerous."

"Others can't see your planar eddies and can't interact with it, don't worry. And you will not be ably to see others eddies as well. It's not dangerous at all. It was all tested before. It safe." Zey answers to Tellerin's doubts.

Once you prepared and are ready to switch the plane Aram Zey escorts you one by one to the tapestry onto the scaffold and instructs them to place their fingers upon a symbol of three linked circles the tapestry’s weave. The Master of Spells utters a trigger word and you disappear from the Material Plane, whisked into Hao Jin’s demiplane. He repeats the process with each of you.

You arrive in the Hao Jin Tapestry instantaneously, finding yourself standing atop a forested hill in front of a large, wide building of burnished white stone. The sky above is bright and the air smells clean and fresh. Behind each arriving creature floats a 2-foot-diameter sphere of pulsing blue light.

OOC information about the tapestry:

The Hao Jin Tapestry is a centuries-old tapestry, measuring
5 feet by 7 feet. It is dirty and quite worn around the
edges, though careful examination shows the wear to
be structurally stable—the tapestry is in no danger of
unraveling, and may have been woven that way on purpose
to deter potential thieves. The patterns of the tapestry are
highly abstract with lines, shapes, and patterns in a variety
of colors, none of which are attractive on their own or in
conjunction with each other.

The Pathfinder Society scholars laboring to understand
the tapestry have determined that the seemingly abstract
features of the tapestry correspond with the actual features
of the demiplane held within it. Those who enter the plane
determine where they appear inside by which point on the
tapestry they are touching when they speak the command
words. Exploration teams have set an elaborate scaffold
in front of the tapestry so they can reach any point on it
easily and touch the tapestry in the correct place without
accidentally brushing up against the edges.

Don't panic, you all made it to the other plane alive and in one piece!

The Temple of Empyreal Enlightenment is a wide structure atop the forested hill. The graceful building has no sharp corners; the white marble walls are carved with soft, round edges. The edifice appears well-scrubbed, but despite this obvious care black flecks of mold cover its surface. A gravel path leads into an airy courtyard and up to a pair of large wooden double doors. The doors are carved with an image of four spheres resting inside an open lotus flower.

Glad to have so many subjects for her sketch, Fialka begins to draw the unruly warrior as the gnome impatiently stamps about. Sighing softly and putting her sketch book away, the strangely eyed Psychic smiles and follows the gnome.

"We have been given plenty of time to explore here, at it seems abandoned. We do not need to rush this task" she chides.

Tellerin inspects the main door and after making sure nothing bad happens when opening it, he slowly opens the main entrance.

This wide entrance is a communal center of the temple. The floor here contains an engraved Spiral, but the spiral is badly scuffed from centuries of traffic.

Detect Magic:

The Spiral on the floor retains a trace of magic despite its
age and disrepair.

Pa-Us kneels down, and, looking at the spiral, calls out to the others: "Though old and not well cared for, this Spiral glows of some magic... Maybe this is the Mediation area we are tasked with reporting upon".

We should be careful not to disturb it - it could be dangerous, and also it's quite pretty.

"Surely the spiral is a route that is traveled? And look at those ponds.."

The sylph will sketch out the room, and then if nobody has a better idea will try to follow the spiral, gazing into the pools as she passes them.

Vagantem, you might want to check the map again. There's another spiral to the south side.

Tellerin tries to suss out what kind of lingering magic might be on the spiral by casting another Detect Magic and focusing on it.

"Ooh Pa Us, it could be the meditation room! But... I don't see the 'meditation techniques' shown anywhere. Hmm." Tellerin steps further into the room, following Sosuke. He follows Seidr's advice and steers clear of the spirals inscribed in the ground.

"I wonder what the spiral was for? Or what it means."

He scurries over to the north end of the room and looks around, down the hallways, for any signs of meditative techniques.

Still very interested by all the gnome's tattoos, Pa Us follows along, remaining behind, but moving into the Temple Grounds.
"Let us maybe explore more, to make sure this is empty and no other Tapestry Travellers are here".
Pa Us is ready to follow along...

Ahh, I see

Vagantem walks through the main doors and then follows that spiral to the next set of doors. She quickly sketches the room before trying the new doors.

Oh, I guess I forgot to cover the other spiral. Sorry for that!

While you remain in this room to sketch and investigate, suddenly you see the center of the spiral producing a weak mote of light that drifts up the ceiling and dissipates.

Kn. arcana DC20:

This effect occurs every hour. It is a permanent dancing lights effect.

Sosuke moves to the north of the room and finds hallways leading east and west.

Vagantem tries the doors in front of her and they open easily. Behind the doors she finds a big dining room with a massive slab of darkwood in the center, 24 plates are placed on it. A woman is preparing for the next meal. The woman wears a whit tunic with small bells attached to it.

When the door opens she turns her head and with a smile she says "Welcome to the temple of Empyreal Enlightenment. I didn't know we have visitors. Are you hungry? Come and eat with us. Korada will provide."

Moments later, she rings an alarmingly loud hand bell.

Pa Us watches the mote ascend, and... dissipate.
He looks back down at the spiral, very interested, waiting for the next one to appear.
Suddenly, he breaks out of his meditation upon hearing a voice.
A voice?
And then starts moving fast when this alarm bell goes off.
Moved on map, spending movement to go around the spiral and not touch it

Tellerin is about to assuage the group's fears about the light when he hears the woman's voice. Someone here? Didn't Mr. Zey say no one else was supposed to be here? He turns from his investigation of the hallway and peeks into the room that Vagantem opened.

"Oh! Wow. Hi there!" Tellerin hops up to try to see around the people blocking the doorway. "I could have a bite to eat, but before that..." He shakes his head "Forgive us, we didn't expect to find anyone here. Who are you?"

He whispers to the people around him "psst. Do you think this is one of those ancient guardians Zey mentioned? Maybe she's a golem, or an illusion? There shouldn't be anyone here after all."
