The door opens to let a scarred and tattooed half-orc march into the room, his wrists in chains. He scowls at the assembled Pathfinders for a second before a metallic automaton stomps in behind him, scanning the room like a sentient suit of armor possessed by a soldier's spirit.
"What are you staring at?" the half-orc rhetorically demands of anyone who makes eye contact with him.
The robot steps forward, one of its mighty hands clenching the half-orc on the arm. From somewhere deep inside its mechanical body, a hollow, tinny voice rumbles forth. "PATHFINDER SOCIETY, LOCAL CHAPTER. PRISONER 2048 HAS BEEN ASSIGNED TO YOUR ORGANIZATION PENDING REHABILITATION FOR CRIMES AGAINST ORDER."
"Yeah, yeah," the prisoner says, rolling his eyes. "Just get these chains off so I can do whatever it is they need me to do."
Searlas Savy |
"Erm... The metal thing is what I was staring at."
A scrawny half-elf profers a hand to help the half-orc up, awkwardly eying the mechanical jailer.
"Searlas Savy... And you?"
Azuk Mal |
"MY DESIGNATION IS WARDEN." the automaton replies, not turning to address the speaker. Its voice is cold and mechanical, as though it's merely playing back a recorded message instead of actually replying.
Scoffing, the half-orc adds, "Quite a charmer, isn't it? Now, if the pleasantries are through, maybe one of you halfwits-"
The animated suit of armor steps forward, its joints grinding on internal gears, until it stands between the prisoner and Le Marchand. "COOPERATION IS A MANDATORY STIPULATION OF REHABILITATION." When it's certain it has the prisoner's obedience, it reaches out and removes the shackles from his wrists.
The prisoner sighs, his shoulders dropping. When he next speaks, it's with a barely contained spite. "Apologies. I am Azuk Mal. If one of you could kindly bring me up to date on whatever it is the society needs us to do, maybe we could get this over with faster."
Searlas Savy |
"I'm probably about in the dark as much as you are. I just got the sales pitch version... first mission out. I was told that I could explore the world and lend some folks a helping hand, so I stopped asking questions after that. I was told that I should consider picking up a Wayfinder, and most of all..."
Searlas adopts a comically rigid pose, raises his voice, and continues, "EXPLORE, REPORT, COOPERATE!"
Searlas relaxes and smiles. "You now know everything I do about this."
GM V |
It’s been nearly a month since VentureCaptain Drandle Dreng, a decrepit yet well-respected Pathfinder, instructed you to meet him dockside in Absalom. On arrival, Dreng herded you on to a Korvosa-bound merchant vessel and gave you a series of quick, stern instructions. “One of my good friends, a merchant in the Varisian outcast’s haven known as Kaer Maga, sent me a very strange letter, which I need you to investigate. The merchant—his name is Horis Collgardie—tells me that the residents of Kaer Maga are very upset about the Society’s plan to build a lodge in their city and even further upset that the agents we sent are making trouble, stirring up the delicate balance of power that exists in the so-called City of Strangers. The trouble is, not the Decemvirate or any venture-captain I can find gave the okay to build a lodge there. We know it would be folly to do so—at least right now—and so this idea that Collgardie has that the Society is there and doing just that is worrisome. In a few weeks time, you’ll be in Korvosa. From there, book passage on a river ship for Harse, then travel overland to the road’s end at the cliffs below Kaer Maga—the so-called Twisted Door. There you must pay the Duskwardens to escort you through the Halflight Path to reach Kaer Maga. Once inside the city, find Collgardie and find out what he’s talking about. If there are Pathfinders in the city founding a lodge, tell them I order them to stop at once. If this is some kind of ruse, get to the bottom of it and do what you can to keep our Society’s good name in Kaer Maga—we may not be completely welcome there, but neither are we unwelcome. Let’s keep it that way. Any questions?”
Ok so you guys have been traveling together for about a month now and this is like a flashback scene. Feel free to ask any questions. Also, I'm going to be at a local convention all day today and their internet suck so im not sure if ill be able to post again until tonight.
Azuk Mal |
"I doubt we'll be able to go unnoticed in this little town, especially with this big lug hanging around." Azuk waits a moment for the automaton to reply, but it never does. "Might as well just start asking around."

"In and out! Quick and clean as a whistle!" he pipes up. Broad hat. Worn learther and thick cloth coat. One can see he has been in the sun most of his life.
"Harison Jones. At your service! Archeologist. Adventurer. We will put a stop to this little Lodge problem." he tips his hat and takes a bow

"Well, I've travelled a fair bit, and respect and knowing the local lingo can take you a long way. Unfortunately I'm a little short on cash for paying for escorts... do we have a stipend available?"
GM V |
"Of course the society has paid for transport. You need to find my contact and figure out what is happening. Don't let the societies name be tainted. Also remember that Kaer Maga is a city of outcasts in Varisia atop the Storval Rise, built inside the shadows of enormous walls that are said to have been built before even Thassilon existed. They are a tight group so it may take work to get them to trust you." You remember the old Venture Captain telling you. "Anything else?" If no one answer he responds. "Then get going."
Also can everyone make sure the link works? Le marchand can you choose a image for your character please. Also Azul can you link your Eidolon info

working. thanks
GM V |
Wonderful. Do you have any more questions for Dreng? If not.
From the moment the sun rose this morning and the dizzying Twisted Door opened at the bottom of the Storval Rise, you, your companions, and a handful of traveling merchants have trudged slowly up the myriad stairs, tunnels, cliff side paths, and underground ruins that make up the famous Halflight Path. On either side of you march several gruff-looking men and women wearing brown-and-gray uniforms, the right breast bearing a badge with their symbol: a golden arch on a midnight blue background. These are the Duskwardens, and it’s their duty to see you safely up the Path to Kaer Maga, hours and hours of climbing above you.
Feel free to talk to those traveling with you. And everyone give me a perception check.
Azuk Mal |
Azuk seems distant and withdrawn during the journey, always within arm's reach of Warden.
Azuk's Perception: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (20) + 0 = 20
Warden's Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Uhh... okay. :)
Searlas Savy |
Normally keen and on the lookout for danger, Searlas is a bit preoccupied sizing up the Duskwardens.
Harison Jones |
Perceptify things: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
Hes still very new to this whole adventuring things. He spent time practising to defend himself and reading books. So this whole outdoor thing. Brand new! Practical application at last!

Am I supposed to be able to edit the path map (move my character around) or just view it?
GM V |
Look at and move. If you couldnt edit before try it now. Also feel free to arrange yourselves how you would like.
"Yes there are plenty of people who would like to see our good name marred. The Aspis Consortium cheif among them. Though i doubt they would go about it in this way. My contact is an ally but in the city of strangers one can never really know for sure. Restore our good name to the people there and stop whoever is doing this. Good luck" You remember the old man saying before you leave.
GM V |
You have been walking for about half the day. The mood is subdued with little talking as everyone focuses on the climb. Throughout the day your group has come to form a rear guard to help keep the pace going. You come to a bend in the trail when suddenly the roof caves in covering the trail in front of you. At the same time another wall gives way revealing another tunnel and a group of Goblins!
"Ambush!" You hear the wardens yell as screams from other travelers and sounds of combat fill the air.
Searlas Savy : 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Azuk Mal : 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Warden: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21
Le: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30
Hania : 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Gedulan: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Goblin Shaman: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
Goblin Warrior: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Suprise Round:
Warden
Le
Hania
Harrison
Goblin Shaman
Goblin Warriors
Searlas
Azuk
Gedulan
The goblin in the back begins to cast a spell, one fires his bow at the scary looking half orc, as the others move to attack.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4
And misses.
Bold may post. This is the suprise round. Harrison: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18. My bad fixed.
Harison Jones |
Harison isnt on the list?

Searlas Savy |
Searlas gives a quick nod, eyes a loose stone on the ground nearby. With an intense glare, swift motion, and terse command, the stone goes flying towards the spellcasting goblin.
Telekinetic Projectile Attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6
...and soars right over his head.
I misread your post. Use this action whenever my turn comes up next.
Gedulan |
Sorry, had a busy day.
Gedulan tosses a bomb at the nearest foe that will not also hit an ally. He is smiling.
Bomb Touch Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Direct Damage: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
7 splash damage 5 feet in each direction. If it misses, 1 is south, 3 is west, 5 is north, 7 is east, and each number otherwise is diagonal.
Miss Roll: 1d8 ⇒ 5
Azuk Mal |
Warden powers to life like a locomotive, its internal engine grinding as it raises its enormous metal fists, smashing them down on the goblin immediately threatening Azuk. Hit or miss, it recoils and spreads its arms wide, shuddering as razor-sharp blades sling out of both wrists like spring-loaded switchblades.
Slam attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Claw attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Claw attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
If this is really how we're all going to roll this game, this party is doomed.
GM V |
So i tried to update this last night and the website went down so lets try this again. What the DC for the reflex save?
Reflex: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
The goblin swears furiously as the explosion hits him. Then begins to laugh gleefully at the fire.
