I think the bonuses from PfE stack

Why would you think that only the +2 morale bonus applies and not the +2 resistance bonus (unless these guys are not evil, then I agree that there is no +2 resistance bonus).


My own impression was that they'd not stack, in this particular circumstance, because PfE was cast 'after' a charm effect has taken hold of you.

Because the PfE is kind of put on as a buff on top of someone already affected, by Erlathan, and is usually seen for things to come.

Example;
The party pre buffs, before going to face the big bad.
BB casts charm person on pre-buffed PC, no effect.

Party doesn't pre buff.
Same scene, PC is convinced to take a time out, but not exerted control over. Cleric casts PfE on time out PC. PC makes a new save, to snap out of the spell's (already running) effect, with the +2 profane mentioned in the 2nd effect, and the resistance bonus is vs new spells etc..

That is my interpretation of it.

I'll toss out a fishing line, see what turns up.

I thought that might be what you were thinking. my thought was that since the PfE is giving a new save, it must have taken affect. It does not make sense to get one bonus from the spell and not the other.

It will be interesting to see what the fishing pulls in.

I guess it was a great idea picking up those scrolls after all. I thought "sure, why not," when I purchased them but they may just save our hide. Harpies are nasty.

So she breaks free from the song, and can post her actions for those three rounds.

Given the situation;

When you're climbing, you're not totally defenseless.
Though you lose Dex to AC, you can still hang on to the wall and can take any actions that require 1 hand, such as attacking and casting spells.

You do need 2 free hands to climb though.

But if you're hit while climbing, you make a check vs the current climb DC, or you will fall.

I agree she has the best chance at dealing damage to him, but she is not going to last if they gang up on her, so keeping others walking is crucial. Two of them KOed her in one round with 17 HP thanks to your ridiculous rolling and I stupidly stuck her neck out again. Why did I do that?

It seems to me that we're in a precarious position here. 3/4 of us are at very low hp. We will be very lucky if everyone stays up for the next round. So we'll probably be down to a smaller party very soon. Should we keep trying to damage Gaspar or should we withdraw?

I don't want to lose the XP/PP but I also don't want to die...

Our thoughts on this will effect my next posting so that's why I'm asking.


When it comes to XP/PP, PFS has the standard that, if a PC participates in at least 3 encounters, they receive the 1 XP.

This mission has 4 encounters, and you've completed 3.

Ajaline, I think you are going to have to suffer an AoO no matter where you go as you are surrounded. FYI I believe Hokama is towards the northeast (where that bubble is on the map I think). If you head that way you will provoke from Gaspar and a hob. I don't know about you, but the way Chyrone's rolling I'd be scared to head that way.


True, but the line 'on the other side of our opponents' could be seen South & North , as well as West & East.

You guys arrived from the south west, it's entirely plausible that the camel was to the NW. After all, the combat map is but a fraction of the area.

I mentioned 40 feet away and off the map, after all.
